❂ Dön Season 2019 ~> Closing the Year of the Dog

“Dön Season”
~> before Losar 5th February & the New Year of the Yellow Earth Boar

Just as eclipse season wanes with the Last Quarter Tara Moon of the Earth Dog Year, Sunday, 27thJan, so do we also enter a critical period of the Tibetan calendar called “Dön Season”. In the days running up to the Tibetan New Year, Feb 5th, Dön Season has been described as being ‘like Mercury retrograde on steroids’, as the karma of the last Elemental Year now accumulates to potentially manifest as sticky issues that can create obstacles, problems and disharmony.

Dön is the name given to the end-of-years’ amassed energy patterns, particularly negative ones which whip-up destructive thinking to provoke difficult interactions and arguments that, if we don’t clarify with compassion, loving-kindness and mindfulness, can even lead to emotional obsessions, or psychic or physical sickness.

Time now to make it a priority to clear Space with the blessings of the Aquarian air Element, and make Space at home, at work, in relationship, and on the meditation cushion, in order to awaken Spirit and light heart-mind.

Detox inner planes as well as outer worlds now. Let-go of the old and outmoded; and prepare for New Elemental Year of the Yellow Earth Boar 4-5-6 February, and the start of a year that accents strong practice, steadfast patience, and the potential for great tranquility.

During these next few days of the “Dön Season” just before Losar, Tibetan New Year, we also call upon our protectors, connect to sangha, and loved ones who also give love and support.
