☸ Losar ~ Tibetan New Year 2144 of the Red Firebird! ☸

Today’s New Moon Solar eclipse will see a magnificent ‘Ring of Fire’ over South Africa, with the potential for solar winds to make it rather spectacular, when we will be able to see the Sun’s all-illusive corona, high density plasma that holds the secrets of the Sun’s crowning glory. The Eclipse is in Pisces, the sign of the magical power of prayer, as well as collective confusion, and the compassion we generate within the mysteries.

·✰· When Sun and Moon unite in their orbits to form a total eclipse (Solar or Lunar) a massive amount of transformational celestial energy concentrates upon the degree concerned; in this case it is the 6-7-8-9-10-11° super-sensitive Pisces feeling the pull of oceanic and cosmic tidal change. This degree is also conjunct the Babylonian fixed Royal star Fomalhaut: a star which sometimes indicates dealing with difficult secrets and/or hanging out with the wrong crowd, as well as snake bites and squandered inheritance. Essentially Fomalhaut’s influence is to learn from and leave behind the negative and bring consciousness to the fore, dragging from the depths of the oblivion all kinds of insight into the light, and the inner and outer workings of the most subtle vibrations. It’s a star to watch very early on summer morning, with its spherical ‘fish’s eye’ hanging low in the sky. To my mind this star witnesses the embodied resonance of a collective soul - we are one - each with an actual body (relatively speaking) and corporeal soul. And this brings me to what I think the crux of this eclipse is about: how we collectively demonstrate loving kindness and compassion to all beings, as we all (eventually) become enlightened conduits for cosmic universal consciousness. 

Taking into account the fact that the mighty powerful Uranus-Pluto Square is now currently being reactivated, this then is no ordinary eclipse. It’s one, when looking at all the dramatic changes taking place, where we need to think in the long term. In the short-term, some situations happening now are directly and karmically connected to and/or even created by obstacles relating to 2012-13-14. BUT we mustn’t forget that the Uranus-Pluto cycle is a long one, approximately 125 years, and that where we are now is only the crisis ridden opening square; i.e. the first quarter of a longer cycle. Looking at this longer astrological cycle, it is also worth noting how an eclipse at this degree is also exactly opposite the feminist liberation and freedom loving conjunction of the mid-60’s, directly opposing that particular generational signature, (Uranus-Pluto conjunction in Virgo). Those born around that time may really resonate with this eclipse and feel a strong need to purify and connect to the divine, and with a sense of urgency if one is live in the kind of 'Peace,Love & Equality' the 60’s offered.

That said, Pisces is the very last sign of the zodiac, and to realise a collective heaven on earth, endurance and serenity are always a boon. Now, however, we need to collectively heal our connection to the sacred feminine, our bodies, the Earth herself as well as the Divine. Please also note how this opposition to this most famous 60’s conjunction, which saw freedom in love and information on computers grow to where we are now, is actually going to be in 2046-48, and it will be encompassing the same degree we are looking at now, i.e. 5-6-7° Pisces. What does this tell us? It tells us that every time there is an eclipse at this degree (every 19ish years) there will be an important cosmic download from the universal matrix which we need to integrate into our lives in order to become spiritual and practical world servers. And as we soon leave this tense trans-personal Uranus-Pluto aspect behind (by the end of next year) we will continue to look at the issues of making personal and collective sacrifices, so that we can heal the planet and ourselves. 

·✰· But most exciting in the immediate is how a day after this New Moon begins the Tibetan New Year of the Red Fire Bird, Losar, which starts on Monday 27th Feb to celebrate a fortnight of miracles the Buddha displayed during his lifetime. These are considered karma multiplied days. Each miracle accumulates more and more merit to awaken the Bodhi-mind, the awakened heart-mind; and on the 15th Full Moon day (12th March 2017) the accumulation of merit is celebrated with the ‘Day of Miracles’, also called known as 'Chötrul Düchen', or ‘The Great Prayer Festival’.

❂ Awakening Heart & Humanity ~> Sun Aquarius ~ Full Moon Lunar Eclipse Leo

~> to Love & be Loved in return.

An eclipse season always has at least two sets of eclipses, two weeks apart, with usually one Lunar – now on the rise - and one Solar, with a New Moon 26^th Feb. Influences, geo-cosmic and geo-physical, generally begin to show a few days before an eclipse, often with consequences that last weeks, months or even years later. Due to the length of the actual eclipse, the effects of this particular Lunar eclipse could last up to four and a half months; the Solar even longer.

Eclipses always present important turning points. Its worthwhile checking the degrees activated in your personal scope, to see how and where a potentially defining moment may be expressed in your own unique birthchart. With a fiery Leo Full Moon Lunar eclipse, we could witness stronger electrical storms, fires, quakes or volcanos, establishing natural earth changes, as tension builds between the aligning Earth, Moon and Sun, to create a ‘Penumbral Lunar Eclipse’, along the 22°28 axis of the zappy Aquarian Sun and fiery Leo Moon, on Saturday February 11^th @12:33gmt, 11:33AST (Friday Feb 10^th 19:33EST,16:33 PST).  

A penumbral eclipse is an ‘almost’ eclipse, meaning Luna is moving through the outer part of Earth’s shadow, so there will be little difference in the reflection of light, just slightly fainter Moonlight for a few hours. Although this pair of eclipses is also the last along the Virgo-Pisces axis, they are a taster of what is to come in August, when the summer’s Solar Total eclipse will be visible over the USA, accenting the shift of the destinty fulfilling North Node, aka Dragon’s head or Rahu, into Leo (and south node into Aquarius). Still, one should now be ready for sudden shifts, particularly realising how, while the Lion-heart Leo Moon activates a ‘Grand Fire Trine’,  the heart is THE organ of perception.  

☆ The Sun in Aquarius is in classical detriment, however. And Leo Moon is in Sun’s sign of rulership. One might think the Heart Spirit of the centre of our Solar system would also be bolstered, even if slightly weakened, symbolic of a consciousness slightly obscured, while a majestic Leo Moon loses some glow during this Penumbral Eclipse (No theatrical Leo cry-babies, please, we know life’s a drama and you’re the star. ;) – Only kidding: we love Leo – and besides, this is your time to shine!). 

☆ An inter-connected combination of ‘The Lights’, Sun and Moon, provides astral support from the esoteric point of view, which can raise the moral high-bar and majestic standard: because intellectual Aquarius is actually the sign of the deeply sensitive Moon’s ‘hierarchical’ ruler. By hierarchical I mean focusing upon the all-seeing, all-perceptive, ‘higher mind’, i.e. the way of the ascended masters and enlightened beings of deep realisation. with a heart-mind that connects self to universe, through the integral web of life to live in truth and love in all circumstances. 

Hence working with our ‘wisdom seeing eye’ positively influences, especially during this potentially pompous and stately Full Leo Moon dynamic, in as much as the home sign of regal Leo Moon is the authority of the crown; but it is the Aquarian people for whom the crown is worn, and is indeed given, through consent and cooperation.  With the hierarchical Aquarian rulership of the Moon, one is also inclined towards altruism as an emotional response in any crisis. A public-spirited reaction, of wanting to make the world a better place for everyone takes mindful practice – and fixed sign discipline. 

Both Leo and Aquarius are yang and fixed. Romantic Leo tends towards the obviously dominant, self-centered but good-hearted, and generous. Whereas, when not being the liberating radical innovator and/or surrounding themselves with kindred spirits, Aquarius can be materialistic, ambitious for social status, sometimes coming from the fascistic ‘do as I say, not as I do’ common-garden variety, emanating the kind of tyranny which makes it challenging for Leo to radiate inherent warmth; but is nonetheless important to do so.

Everyone under an essentially playful Leo Moon, and its propensity for childish ego, needs to be aware that issues of entitlement and privilege among friends and colleagues can easily come to light and impact upon the flourishing of creativity.  So, the question may be over this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is how does one prompt a balance of altruistic, friendly openness, at the same time expressing one’s gifts and talents in the name of purpose, love and passion, without appearing arrogant – or odd?

☆ Looking into the quite complex Penumbral Eclipse chart, we see a rare and helpful Mystic Rectangle. Made of two oppositions 60° apart, the Mystic Rectangle connects by sextiles facilitating ease and harmony in an unusual and uncanny manner. Maintaining a clear simplicity within the rectangle are the elements Fire and Air, which point to the connections and reconnections between heart and head, mind and brain, wisdom and intellect - with practical application as the means to producing magical results.  

The real magic held in any given moment is, however, always shown by the placement of the Moon. Thus, in this first full Moon of the Lunar year of the Red Fire Bird, the most practical application that will enable you to get the most out of this Full Moon, and indeed the most of 2017, is by activating the aforementioned transiting Grand Fire Trine, as it regularly comes into and out of focus throughout the year. The Grand Fire Trine in this Full Moon chart also has two main flyers from not one, but two Yang driven, Fire & Air ‘Kites’, within which the Leo Moon and Aries Uranus are key navigators. The Moon encourages illumination through self-reflection; and to kindle inner-fire, so that one has the strength to be of Uranian world service.  

☆ A Leo Moon awakens the fiery heart of love. When understanding self in relation to a world in turmoil, loving kindness is the only way. Although, the Age of Aquarius, when love rules the stars and peace guides the planet’, is still some three-hundred years away. During this time we obviously need to keep practicing the art of love, particularly to oneself, in order to maintain the energy needed to face of a constant stream of challenges and distraction. Be mindful; take time to rekindle one’s inner-fire should it flag in this era of sense-dulling toxic pollution. There are quick and practical ways to nurture your inner –fire, your ‘Agni’, as noted by the Mystic Rectangle and Grand Fire Trine. Encourage positive thinking; eat a balanced, healthy diet; detox (body & mind (switch off, go for walks)); do a daily 15-minute exercise; declutter (thoughts, people, stuff, situations, debts); meditate daily, and take time to rest in between and let the Light of Life grow from within.  

☆ The major theme for the Red Firebird 2017 is awakening: and this Grand Fire Trine will continue to rouse ardour and passion as it has since Xmas, in fact, with Saturn in Sagittarius Trine to Aries Uranus connecting to a fire cycle that links back even further, to 1988, when Uranus and Saturn were conjunct in Sagittarius (where Saturn is now), almost 30 years ago. This means those now going through his or her Saturn return will be extra-charged when heeding the responsibility of a call for change. 

In the broader view, we are all looking at tradition working in harmony with a variety of sometimes fast-moving change (which, in the ideal world, would benefit all). This is also the closing trine of a of a 45-year cycle. (So you 28-30 year olds can note this long-term15-year projection, with which you might resonate). 

☆ With the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto ‘T square’ still in operation (for most of this year), it activates powerful transformation through people-power as well as local heroes, big business and righteous law. This super dynamic T-square carries with it the build-up of the last seven years of the 7-hit Uranus-Pluto Square (since 2010). We always knew this Cardinal Square would last until late 2017. Disruptive unrest has yet to reveal positive social reform, but there is also still the potential to bestow great public relations and cooperative relations, with grand gestures and devotion to the humanitarian and environmental cause. 

Last to be mentioned, but by no means least because they are holding this very lively and inspiring Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, Fire Trine, Mystic Rectangle and T-square, are Two ‘Cradles’ of five planets forming four sextiles! The heavens now indicate that all can be comfortably contained and, with a correct view it can now be straightforward to nurture inner-fire to achieve heart-felt coherence, and build greater confidence and strength. ☽ New Moon in Moon-ruled Cancer ♋ 15th/16th July 2015 ~>

☼ ✰··☾♡☽··✰ ☼
Tonight/Tomorrow’s New Moon in Cancer @2:25BST (21:25EST) accents deeply emotional reactions to issues that can make one feel defensive and want to crawl back into the proverbial crab shell. There's also a tendency to be impressionable, absorbing other's emotions easily. Psychic interconnection heightens when Sun and Moon are in Cancer - all of which may or may not be a good thing, depending upon how this profound sensitivity to others is used.

Sun & Moon, ‘The Lights’, are also making a several complex connections in the sky, involving a helpful aspect to karmic Saturn, as well as being conjunct both, informative Mercury and dynamic Mars; these 'relationship' planets are also in Cancer, sparking off a potential new and passionate way of communicating how one cares, which is hopefully with creativity and kindness (perhaps even in reaction to all the heavier degradation we see around). And even though some interactions may raise the temperature, the trick is to catch any anger, or resentement and redirect any hot-headed passion (encountered or generated) into creative pursuits that make everyone feel secure.

All these planets in Cancer can also bring out a mothering instinct that kicks into action to relieve suffering, show mercy, and nurture and look after others as if they were family. This is the way of ‘The Bodhisattva’, a person who defers Buddhahood in preference to being a source of unconditional love, for all beings – not just human beings.

This New Moon also sparks the infamous 7-hit Uranus-Pluto square (the vibration of which lingers into 2018), which has been representing society’s radical changes, through technology (among other things). Our own ability to be the agent of our own change and exercise compassionate in any given situation may seem like a lot to ask for, but the heavens do tend to incline and not compel.

Lastly, this lunation also sees one of the year's most important Buddhist Wheel-Turning days, Chökhor Düchen, on the 20th July. , The 4th day of the 6th month in the Tibetan Calendar, is a karma-mulitplied day, commemorating the Buddha’s first teaching on ‘The Four Nobel Truths’. It is also when The Lights make their first positive aspect to each other enroute to a heart-healing Full Blue moon, July 31st.

☽★☼ At 30 Pisces, the very last ‘omega’ degree of the zodiac, a new Super Moon Solar Eclipse on Friday morning (when the moon is closest to the earth) is exact at 9:31 am GMT. The last degree of a sign, the powerful ‘anaretic degree’, signifies we have already experienced the qualities of a sign and are ready to move on and embrace the next sign. In the case of this Solar Eclipse, it is the Piscean’s profound sensitivity and mystical awareness that has the ability to overcome duality to merge and blend with cosmic Oneness, that precedes the freshness the Aries Ram brings at the Spring Equinox (in the year of the Green Yin Wood Ram!), only 13 hours after Sol’s eclipse at 22:45gmt. The Sun is the star of this eclipse show, our Spiritual heart illuminating, feeding and growing all things on Earth; and in Pisces, as a world server responsive to the environment, showing loving kindness, forgiveness and compassion to all beings, especially beings, seen and unseen, suffering in Samsara’s pounding waves.

At the same time a magical celestial portal opens for us to go through and explore our inner-consciousness, spiraling from Omega to Alpha and embark on the totally new and exciting armed with a greater compassion and wisdom that beckons us to cross into zero Aries with courage and confidence. ☼ ☾ With today’s lunar emphasis upon the healing qualities of the Divine Feminine, honouring the Great Mother liberator can free us from fear and protect from suffering. All the while, the generous Sagittarian Sun inspires one to remain confident and optimistic, to know that rainbows and miracles do happen, and to encourage an open mind as the means to a kind and open heart. 

♅⚥ ♇ Tomorrow, the 16th, sees the 6th of 7 exact squares between generational planets Uranus and Pluto, accenting a particularly long struggle for freedom within this powerful period of collective transformation.  This configuration which began 2012, demands the kind of change where altruism and lucidity can flourish, where all beings are nurtured with an awareness of their authentic presence.

☉ Light of Life ~> New Moon in Aries March 30th _/♥\_

After a while of being around Tibetans, you will hear the phrase ‘being in the mandala’. What ‘being in the mandala’ means is that you are fully present in the magical centre of a cosmically infused multidimensional time tool, that is symbolic of our interconnection to body, speech and mind, in relation to Cardinal directions, six elements, planets, energies of the Sun & Moon, Buddha families, deities, and the heart-mind of the Guru (within). To be in the mandala is at once a wondrous state of awareness in an often complex process of becoming at one with the central heart-mind. I mention this now because this exciting New Aries Moon at 19:43BST, the Sun is not only exalted, but this lunation also sees important planets perfect the ‘Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun’, forming a tight Grand Cardinal Cross from the beginning April, making us all feel like we are entering the mandala. Through one gate or another (depending upon personal planets in horoscope), be it east, west, north or south, though a personal calling or family/relationship/authority issues, we are all being called into the mandala created by the Grand Cardinal Cross, becoming totally aware of our own personal part in the greater whole, in peace, and with beauty and harmony at a point of collective transformation.

Uranus is also the surprise wild card, accenting uniqueness and individuality within peer-to-peer situations, as well as eureka moments that come like bolts from the blue. According to esoteric astrology, Uranus is the hierarchical ruler of Aries; meaning the Ram’s up-front bravado is best served for a cause, with a passion to help those who can’t help themselves. This is not to say that one mustn’t look after oneself, because the main focus of Aries is the Light of Life itself: the Sun, assigning personal identity and talents. Indeed, what the collective now requires are spiritual warriors who are brave, aware that each has distinct gifts, ready for transition in action.

☄ Thanksgiving Dakini Day ~> November 28th ’13 ☼ ✶☽

Sagittarius Sun ♐☄ ☄ (with Comet ISON!) & Moon in Libra ♎

Accenting wisdom and beauty, this convivial combination of ‘The Lights’ inspires the fiery Sagittarian spirit of adventure with love, warmth, and more than a sprinkling of sophisticated Libran grace and balance. Interestingly, the Sagittarian Sun’s ruler, Jupiter, and the Libra Moon’s ruler, Venus, connect today in opposition, giving rise to expanded ideals (and possibly waistbands too!). This is a great time for putting much into perspective – especially relationships in partnership, business, teacher-student, or friend to friend; when the potential to find peace of mind through socialising, is by being fully present with those who nurture and support fairness, truth, and openness. All of which is heartening, especially when preparing to complete a powerful (and some might say ‘stressed’) lunation that began with a Scorpio solar eclipse, and ends with the Sagittarius New Moon on 2nd/3rd December. That said, this rather elegant Dakini Moon, in harmonious Libra, is opposite Uranus and square Pluto, encouraging the emotional body to sense the currently transformational zeitgeist; and, quite apart from the need to protect and steer clear of negative power games, there may well be some surprises in store; even these may take on greater momentum with the upcoming lunation in the sign of the Archer. ✴️ Dark Moon Halloween ~> 2013

Some moments are more enchanted and potent than others. At Halloween, when the veil between visible upper and unseen lower worlds is thinnest, mythical skeletons dance across the skies, and witches wing by on Birch tree brooms, it tends towards a magical time that gets deep, edgy, and powerful.  Halloween holds a mystical magic that can transform in a dream-like instant, purely by honoring the ancestors and all that has gone before - and by being ready for a dramatic renewal. And as tonight’s is a Dark Moon Halloween, it’s advisable to call upon our protectors, totems and guides, and all that can help the Spiritual Warrior maintain emotional balance, which is specifically important when crossing the karmic threshold of the fixed and focused New Moon Scorpio Solar Eclipse, November 3rd.

Bear in mind that while we are now at the peak of the on-going 3-year Uranus-Pluto square (more on that tomorrow), astrological Halloween is actually November 7th, when the Sun is at degree where we officially pass through the ‘Via Combusta’, a.k.a. ‘The Fiery Path’, when Spirit rises like a proverbial phoenix out of the ashes. 
All the while we have a myriad of sacred geometry providing anchors for practical magic, and heavenly pointers to where the fates are flying:

The ‘Kite’ formation harnesses a ‘Grand Earth Trine’ stimulating recuperative and regenerative conservation of resources; with the Dragon’s Tail (South Node) implementing the healing energies we bring with us, which can also be used in the future.

A ‘Mystic Rectangle’, made up of only helpful aspects, suggests spiritual stability throughout this eclipse period, until November 8th.

In the wake of a Paxman interview, the facebook newsfeed has become a one-man Russell Brand show, with Brand’s call to boycott voting and start a revolution soliciting extreme reaction from all sides. Some want to heed the battle cry and, presumably, die for him, as revolutions are never a civilised affair. But maybe that's not the kind of rEvolution RB is looking for? As others are very much against, generally men of a certain age who find Brand opinionated, trite and wayward. The girls seem to love him, possibly for the same reasons but seen in a different light, seeking a revolution of the heart.

As an astrologer it intrigued me to know what, from the planets’ point of view, does Russell Brand have to make him a magnet for others to either attract or repel in such a polarizing manner? Born with the loquacious Sun in Gemini on the 4th June 1975, at 00:07*, in Greys, Essex, Russell Brand’s horoscope buzzes with a larger-than-life, rather nervous and extremely assertive but deeply sensitive personality, one who loves novelty and variety, to be always on the go in constant communication. One might even say his gift-of-the-gab is a past-life thing; in this life he is to be the wiser media Guru. His destiny is to reveal mastery of the chat, aiming for wisdom's truths. The man even compared His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, in Manchester youth program not so long ago!

His Capricorn chart ruler, karmic Saturn, is deadly serious, in contrast to the playful Gemini Spirit. Coming across as dark and handsome with a devilish twist is also part of the Brand charm; with weighty Saturnian topics such as voting, politics and the environment delivered with clever and light-hearted Gemini wit.  The heavy-weight ruler, Saturn, is in detriment in the sign of Cancer, however, with challenges to the early home life and school, with issues surrounding the matriarch, such as food, mother and authority. Furthermore, Saturn's wide conjunction to Love Goddess Venus is another indication that he needs to take greater responsibility with his approach to women. Even the title of Russell's recent show, ‘The Messiah Complex’, is revealed in his natal horoscope, as the Sun - which defines ego and identity (in the sign of the informative Twins) opposes Neptune, oceanic planet of spirituality and spiritual oneness. When working well, Neptune can indicate deep compassion and charity, meditation and yoga; but heaven help anyone whose Neptune is out of whack and opposite the Sun, as it denotes drug, alcohol, and all kinds of nefarious toxic abuse and addiction. Save or be saved, Neptune is also the planet of victims and martyrs, illusion and glamor, which makes it as easy for him to ‘lose’ himself (even if he has emotional control issues), and even easier for other to transfer their feelings about his celebrity, as well as political ideals onto Russell. How he deals with such idolization depends upon how profoundly he can tune into the spiritual world for refuge and support.

But what makes Brand’s horoscope really twinkle is how the current movement of the heavens excites the warrior within, urging him to become the knight in shining armor on a righteous cause, encourage people to wake-up to any present iniquity by exercising his gift to articulate rampant corruption.

Russel's chart is tuning into a dynamic alignment called ‘The Uranus Pluto Square’, of which there are seven squares over three years, which started in 2012, and finishes in 2015. This on-going square symbolises a tension between the traditional paradigm of absolute power and authority, and those seeking freedom and equality. Both Pluto and Uranus are generational planets that propel Russell’s scope into the vanguard of the action: Pluto, the planet of life, death and rebirth, activates a place of collective longing in Russell’s chart, while the planet of sudden upheaval, Uranus, sparks his well-placed and passionate Mars, courageous and dynamic planet of action. Whilst being able to mobilise, fight, and guide with giddy enthusiasm, this is the chart of a fireBrand who senses the perils of both the ordinary foot soldier AND the elite major general. Because his natal planet of revolution, Uranus in Libra, resonates with equality and freedom I suspect he sees himself as an innovative visionary, which he is, to a certain extent. At the very least he is the current mouthpiece for many of the disenfranchised 99%, unnerving a 1% - but still we can all applaud his bravery.

One last point is how Venus, the planet of love, is also an indicator of social skills, which sits almost exactly on his descendant, point of marriage and relationship. Even if people don’t always like what he says, they still seem to be fascinated, and dare I say, want his friend.

I was asked today why, according to astrology, these are such challenging times. And this is a really long and involved answer with lots of astro-tech, as there are two very difficult aspects going on at the moment, which involve both Cardinal and Fixed signs (which is 2/3rd of the zodiac), so few escape the planetary energies – apart from the cosmic enlightened ones, of course, who are beyond the influences of the heavens. _/\_

One such difficult aspect is the Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun, which will continue to come and go until 2015/6 with varying intensity (as it has already been doing for the past three years). This highly evolutionary square is rare in its longevity, and involves dynamic, active Cardinal Signs: Assertive Aries with Uranus, planet of awakening as the agent of the square; Sensitive Cancer, with Jupiter, planet of expansion as the synthesising factor; Balancing Libra with messenger Mercury, planet of communication – with the Equinox Sun highlighting the Cardinal Cross at the end of the calendar month; last but not least, responsible Capricorn with transformative Pluto.

At its highest vibration, this square represents a rising Divinity (within). To be honest, this Grand Square with its two oppositions and an enduring hard aspect between two generational planes, Uranus and Pluto, it’s not easy to say the least, as interconnected life can go ‘haywire’ it involves a great deal of personal transformation and spiritual awareness to remain true to self. And every time the Moon hits one of these planets during this incredible Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun, we feel deeply the part we are playing in being able to dissolve the veils obscuring our shining and true Buddha nature.

Yet the required spiritual critical mass for Divinity to rise is, to my mind, almost here - if not already reached; as a collective tide turns towards the Divine Feminine, the Goddess balancing the rational of the mechanistic left-brain with the holistic creative right-brain, as well as awakening an intuitive wisdom with loving compassion. Still, the stress created by this realignment, of human with Divine, can be tough with on-going suppression of freedoms. And having a day when relationships falter, or self/others fail to produce, or authority clamps down and/or peer group seems alienating and a seemingly toxic collective upholds mass distraction with toys for celebrity boys (and girls), it’s all the more reason to hold ground, centre up and rest in the natural beauty of the glowing and radiant heart-mind ~> So when the going gets tough, breathe, meditate, slow down, and rise above the negative vibration that can hook the mind into slavish nonsense.

If the Grand Cross isn’t enough, the second aspect is a hard ‘T’ square between relationship-orientated Venus, disciplined Saturn, and the North Node in Scorpio (and by extention the South Node in Taurus) to Mars in Leo, which means fiery Mars has, for the past week or so, be on ‘The Bends’, turning between the dark side of the Moon and happenstance. Which could well feel just as crazy as it sounds! And Mars is still in square to Saturn creating a sensation a bit like wading through treacle, which has an upside, in as much as martial Mars is halted through fear, doubt, or plain realistic assessment (phew!). Note that Mars is akin to the energy of the South Node (logging the kind of energy we bring from previous incarnation or situations), and karmic Saturn is akin to destiny-fulfilling North-Node. So basically the Martial Lion has been wrapped around the Dragons’ Head AND the Dragon’s Tail, caught between coming and going. Now, he is going – straight into the arms of passionate, powerful love.

And as Venus, the planet of love now conjuncts Saturn, a commitment to the transformational power of deep, meaningful love means abandoning power plays of control and domination. So that when Love Goddess Venus squares passionate Warrior Mars at the last quarter moon 27/28th September, it can spark ardour, confidence, and the consciousness to renew and revitalise shared enterprise by following the urge to accomplish brave deeds, with unconditional LOVE conquering anger, hatred and aggression; for in the planetary pantheon Mars only disarms with Venusian charms.

So seeing that today, 14th September, is this lunation’s Guru Rinpoche day, with Sun in healing Virgo, the sign of the perfect and abundant Goddess, in good aspect to the sympathetic Moon in sensible Capricorn, it is more than fitting to ask for blessings and protection (from the Guru within) and discover the ability to overcome obstacles of these difficult aspects, so that all our aspirations can be fulfilled. ॐ_/♥\_

Spirit Sun is at the very last degree of Taurus, making this best ‘trine’ aspect to sensitive Moon in discerning Virgo, also at the last, 29th degree. Bear with me, this might be a little technical in as much the last degree of any sign in astrology is called ‘anaretic’, meaning we have already imbibed the qualities of the sign we are about to leave and, at the same time, sense and/or express the qualities of the coming sign – or in this case, signs, as Sun moves into curious Gemini & Moon into equanimous Libra. The élan between ‘The Lights’ therefore fluctuates between one of valued and solid practical service, to that of a wavering mind, one that seeks and has the potential to find balance.

This emphasis upon mind continues throughout the zodiacal month as Gemini is a smart Air sign, making one more aware that breath is mind’s vehicle to Spirit, as Sun now joins Mercury (at home in Gemini), Venus and Jupiter: our illusions can be blown away in the wind.

The 3rd of 7 Uranus Pluto squares is also in operation on the 20th. Broadly speaking this indicates dramatic collective transformation, a celestial challenge that began in earnest a year ago and won’t finish until March 2015. Hopefully, by then each individual awakes to make changes in body, speech and mind, to sustain health and happiness for all.

2015 might seem some time away but one thing is sure: we are NOW super-solar-charged from last week’s four X-flares, so the upcoming Saga Dawa Full SuperMoon lunar eclipse (yes, you read that right!) is cosmically bound to higher emotion and deeper vibration, when finding the middle way may be as simple as remembering the refuge we take in our faith and (inner) Guru.

Healing power of Nature - Sun in Taurus ✿ Moon in Leo

In many parts of the East, Buddha’s conception (or birth) is celebrated today, May 17th, at the first quarter moon, with Sun in earthy Taurus and Moon in fiery Leo. This very fixed and determined combination of ‘The Lights’ accents the value of the creative spark inherent in all beings. It’s also a medicine Buddha - Tara Moon, when the healing emphasis is upon stabilising self by connecting to the natural world.

It’s no coincidence that Buddha achieved enlightenment, taught, and died under a tree. Trees give a feeling of being rooted and supported by Mother Earth, which is helpful in Shamatha, calm abiding meditation, providing constant stability so we can rest evenly and realise the clear light of mind. Trees also purify the air, add oxygen and moisture to the atmosphere, and provide shade and shelter to animals (and meditators). So if you’re feeling slightly shattered in the middle of an eclipse season with no less than four Solar X-flares raising the vibration, as well as the 3rd (of 7) Uranus-Pluto challenge, awakening the collective transformation on May 20th, then go hug a tree and rejuvenate. Better still, meditate under one and discover the immense healing power of nature, and prepare for the illuminating Saga Dawa Full Moon lunar eclipse on the 25th. _/✿\_

Spring Equinox 2013

☼ Rise & Shine! °◌•˚◎◦⊚°◌•˚◎◦⊚ Today is the Vernal Equinox, when the radiant light of the Sun enters Aries, its sign of exaltation @11:02gmt, to energise the northern hemisphere with the Spring Equinox, a time of equal day and equal night (in the southern hemisphere it is, of course Autumn). Wherever we are, this is a time of change.

☼ Spirit Sun represents one’s identity and in the sign of the Ram, a symbol of courage, daring and enterprise. The Sun is also in hard aspect to the on-going Uranus-Pluto square AND the Cancerian Moon; transformation and radical renewal can be now achieved with caution, by showing the care a mother would her child.

Losar 2140 ~~~:> Year of the Black Water Snake

9th Feb ’13 ~~~:> Waving ‘goodbye’ to the wonderful Water Dragon (not to be seen again for another 60 years), whose authentic presence reminded us of the power of our own innate goodness, before the Year of the female Black Water Snake comes in tomorrow, 10th Feb, with the New Moon at 21Aquarius at 7:20amGMT (2:20amEST). This Snake year bestows the ability to renew through transforming and healing deeply wounded (collective) emotions with intuitive and insightful feminine wisdom.

To add hope, faith and strength, in the Tibetan system of a sixty-year cycle this year of the Black Water Snake is called 'Namgyal', meaning 'Totally Victorious'. At this new moon we also celebrate and commence Buddha's 15 days of miracles (siddhis), culminating on the 25th February with the full Moon, when karma is multiplied x 100,00,00.

From the planet’s point of view, throughout 2013 the influential Uranus Pluto square urges us to maintain our sights upon the light and keep our altruistic intention, for all beings to be happy, in sharp focus. Even if/when ploughing through darker moments in the midst of transformation, be our problems physical, psychological, or spiritual, we can still be like the sacred lotus in the lily pond: stable in our depth, yet not adhering to the muddy waters associated with afflicted emotions, therefore able to be in our experiential flow to stretch-up through the dense materialistic dross, to rise up and reach the light, and bathe in the beauty of the heavenly scented blossom of enlightenment_/♥\_

The Spirit of Forgiveness ~> Full Moon in Cancer_/♥\_ Dec 2012

_/♥\_ 2012’s last Full Moon beaming 7Cancer at 10:20gmt tomorrow morning (5:20amEST, 14:50pm Delhi). Whilst living in the NOW, there’s always an element of nostalgia with historical and memorable Cancer, the sign which rules the Moon. As we look back over this momentous 2012: the once-in-a-lifetime Venus Transit, Mayan Solstice alignment, transformational Uranus-Pluto squares, not to mention the Diamond sparkling London Olympics and a search for the God Particle, we can see how far we have come in the combined awakening of the heart-mind.

Without sounding too dramatic, the heavens now suggest we have reached the point of awareness in ‘Unity Consciousness’ when we can release ourselves from the fear of mortality, heal deeply engrained negative emotions and, if you think that’s a tough mission call, take personal responsibility to play a unique part of the collective transformation. In other words nothing is going to change, unless we change as individuals. And that means dropping self-abuse along with any violence, anger or hatred, towards others; and living a life of loving-kindness and compassion. As the Sun is conjunct Pluto, planet of endings and beginnings, now is the time to make such a transition.

In many ways this Full Moon has the power to release the past in the spirit of forgiveness. With its’ ‘Grand Water Trine’ there’s a sense of completion, watching Spirit flowing through Samsara’s countless phases of cyclic life, death and rebirth, in order to maintain a Divine natural harmony, and to emerge from the emotional depths, lighter and much refreshed

With that, I wish you all a very happy Full Cancer Moon and a wonderful New Year. May all beings be Happy & Enlightened; and may our accomplishments be the most eminent attainments on the path: renunciation, compassion, unshakable faith and realization of the correct view _/♥\_

Action & Reaction ~> Two Grand Crosses + Cardinal + Mutable

Rather unusually, there are TWO GRAND CROSSes in the sky at the same time this week! The 'Cardinal Grand Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun' is the power-house that galvanizes into action tomorrow, Monday 20th August, when the sensitive Moon moves into harmonious Libra (to oppose Uranus and Square Venus and Pluto); to accent the awareness of renewal and transformation.

This kind of formation has the celestial hallmarks which also herald pronounced solar activity – including an active sextile from Spirit Sun to fiery Mars, and that can certainly whip UP the dynamism.

A Cardinal Cross is energetic and forceful, urging one to shift and quickly move (hopefully into a positive direction) with all kinds of important issues: self in relationship, to family, partnerships, groups AND profession. Staying centred could be a challenge especially as the Sun is currently involved in a 'Mutable Grand Cross', which gains strength as it approaches its' opposition to dreamy Neptune and squares the destiny-fulfilling nodes (24thAugust); Events this week will eventually point a way to practical and spiritual service, through being able to empathise and generate compassion. Whatever happens (I personally am going to) count blessings, as the Tibetan word for 'blessing' (jinlab) means 'a wave of grace' that also suggests having the ability to change _(♥)_
