Shortest
day and longest night is fast approaching. At the same time the Moon
cycle is coming to a close, compounding long shadow days and the need to
allow subconscious thoughts, feelings and dreams to bubble up to the
surface before being filtered by the light of consciousness.
Until the Winter Solstice (21st Dec 23:03GMT ), swiftly followed by the New Capricorn
Moon (22nd Dec 001:25gmt ) - with both markers occurring around
midnight Universal Time, this closing part of the year is also one of
the year’s darkest periods. Before solar standstill, and like the
animals hibernating, it is now time to relax (as best one can in the
often hectic pre-xmas whirl). During these next few days the receptive
and feminine Yin chi flows deeply and strong (in the northern
hemisphere). Within this dark space the urge to turn inwards, in order
to recoup and revive, is an innate part of our natural cycle. It is also
a time of major personal initiation into our own internal light,
teaching to kindle the light which resides in our heart. Soul and Spirit
illuminating faith and trust, hope and compassion, qualities for the
SOLstice blessings to take forward into the New Year – and beyond.

"Now it is of the utmost importance to remember that the external
search for fulfillment through our complex patterns of hatred, love, and
attachment is a lost cause. Fulfillment is attained through pausing and
turning inwards." ~ Lama Tsultrum Alione ~ _/ ♥\_

15th December ~> Last Quarter Virgo Moon square Sagittarius Sun
☼ ☾ With today’s lunar emphasis upon the healing qualities of the Divine Feminine, honouring the Great Mother liberator can free us from fear and protect from suffering. All the while, the generous Sagittarian Sun inspires one to remain confident and optimistic, to know that rainbows and miracles do happen, and to encourage an open mind as the means to a kind and open heart.
♅⚥ ♇ Tomorrow, the 16th, sees the 6th of 7 exact squares between generational planets Uranus and Pluto, accenting a particularly long struggle for freedom within this powerful period of collective transformation. This configuration which began 2012, demands the kind of change where altruism and lucidity can flourish, where all beings are nurtured with an awareness of their authentic presence.
The Sacred Goddess (within) protects from having the wrong view during challenging times, helping to retain a balanced mind that frees from harmful negative emotions. And as we turn towards Solstice with a New Capricorn Moon on the 22nd, when the New Light King is born (in the Northern Hemisphere), it is the unconditional love of the glorious Goddess who prepares to act and tender compassionate healing, even in our darkest hours. So follow Tara's lead and take care of yourself and others as a mother would a child, and enjoy the blessings from the great Goddess.
_/♥\_ Artwork by Lasha Mutual, with thanks _/♥\_ & explanation of Green Tara’s position from Religionfacts.com: “in a posture of ease and readiness for action. While her left leg is folded in the contemplative position, her right leg is outstretched, ready to spring into action. Green Tara’s left hand is in the refuge-granting mudra (gesture); her right hand makes the boon-granting [giving] gesture. In her hands she also holds closed blue lotuses (utpalas), which symbolize purity and power.”

_/✿\_ ~ > Taking refuge in the Divine Feminine, Dakini bliss is
found within the practice of compassion as well as within our sangha and
family, and communing within our environment, our truth, our love.
As we come to the end of this Cancerian lunation there is much to
contemplate as two heavyweight planets, Saturn and Uranus, switch
direction, reminding how impermanence itself can even lead to ‘the
suffering of change’. Taskmaster Saturn is now going forward after
four-and-a-half months of retrograde motion. So look to mid-degrees
Scorpio in your horoscope and see what, exactly, is now going ahead with
greater responsibility and Saturn’s wisdom and skill. And to
appreciate the interconnected web of life, Uranus internalises the focus
of mid-degrees Aries (and by extension all Cardinal signs: Libra,
Cancer & Capricorn), to be expressed in five months’ time, on the
New Moon at Winter Solstice.
In astrology, Uranus is associated
with the Heavens and the spacy chaos that requires altruism and
cooperation to experience personal freedom and collective liberation.
Time now, therefore, to give oneself space for a little
‘Omphaloskepsis’, which literally means "contemplating one's navel",
especially powerful with the soulful Moon making her last major aspect
to the Sun before a New Leo Moon (to conjunct Jupiter, making the
Sun-ruled Leo Lunation a biggie!) Saturday, 26th July.
Before
then, taking a cue from the Dakini Goddess, who shows compassion to all
beings, there is much to be said for hugging trees, talking to plants,
stroking animals, and being with those we feel close to. Whichever side
of the globe, wherever you are, take time now to be in the garden, walk
in the park, stroll along the beach – anywhere that allows you to feel
at one with nature and feed the heart-mind with helpful positivity, and
release potentially destructive emotions in a safe and nurturing
setting.
