Saka Dawa Earth Dog Year 2018

Full Moon in Sagittarius 2018 ~ Tuesday 29th May @14:20UT
 ~~ Enlightened Mind ~~
Celebrating the birth, enlightenment and paranirvana of the historical Buddha, this Full Moon is called ‘Sagadawa’ or ‘Saka Dawa’ in the Himalyan Buddhist tradition. In Tibetan astrology Saka means ‘Star’ and ‘Dawa’ means Moon, ’Star Moon’. _/\_ Saka Dawa is the most important sacred day of the Buddhist Calendar; today is therefore optimum to engage in virtuous activities and spiritual practice. Karma is further multiplied x 100billion

Whenever the Full Moon is in fiery Sagittarius – as it is at 8°10’ Sagittarius, Tuesday 29th May @14:19, adventure inspires and exploration beckons. Travel is therefore nicely starred. With a Full Moon in Sagittarius opposite the Gemini Sun, the quest is one of enquiry directed inwards to discover how ideas stir and stimulate the breadth and depth of the world of feeling and emotion – and all the wonder that beholds within. While it is always helpful to cultivate the Sagittarian open mind that keeps worries and woes at bay, it’s also good to remember how the Sagittarian centaur is also half-man, half-horse, meaning the top half of the centaur represents the human brain, while the bottom half symbolises animal instincts.

While the Moon traverses the sign of the Centaur, those already with a predilection for passionate escapade can spend hours trying to unite brains and beauty with the drives of the internal beast, using prized intellect to overcome, integrate, and make sense of animalistic longing. Sagittarius is actually a mythical four-legged archer with horse-power for stamina and the ability to be extremely lucky. The Centaur is a skilled rider on the move, at one with his steed, armed with a bow and arrow.

Whenever you see Asian Oriental deities holding a bow and arrow, particularly Buddhist deities, it is the bow that is usually held in the left ‘wisdom’ hand, while the arrow is held in the ‘method-of-compassion’ right hand. This hand pairing of wisdom and compassion therefore propels one towards a life using ‘skilful means’ from an ethical point of view. From the astrological point of view the bow and arrow symbolises the high-flying analytical mind, with grand ideas aiming beyond the stratosphere.

It’s clear a free-roaming and spontaneous Centaur requires the freedom and free-will and independence to explore humanity’s higher ideals through theories and beliefs. No one ever got enlightened through concepts, but to celebrate academic and abstract ideas that revere the human connection with the natural world, gives life greater spiritual meaning.

So the temptation is to now saddle-up while the Moon is in the sign of the Centaur, leave troubles behind without a care in the world and gallop off into the far-horizon: casual, relaxed and brave. With a spacious mind, the Moon in Sagittarius will also focus upon those feelings which inspire confidence. When searching for answers – and the truth, the Moon Sagittarius will experience different cultures, different philosophies and even different gods, all the while adapting vessels into which one can pour faith, hope and charity. Anything foreign appeals to the Moon in Sagittarius: the more exotic and bizarre, the more it fascinates. A fiery Sagittarius Moon literally hungers for veracity and the freedom to spiritually grow.

During the Sagittarian Full Moon it’s the wise, however, who accepts inspiration and divinity are already within – aware that looking outside for enlightened intelligence to magically come and solve all life problems is unrealistic and only offers false expectation. That said; this Sagittarian Full Moon opposite the Gemini Sun culminates less than two degrees away from Fixed Star, Antares, indicating success and power comes from a discerning kind of insight. Be aware this placement also comes with a celestial warning. The Royal Star Antares demands focus and concentration for clarity to manifest. It also stresses how important it is not to become swamped in drama or crisis, as that could stymie you in your tracks. Take note: a few hours immediately following culmination, the Moon conjuncts a bright red star, Antares, offering a conceivable Eureka moment, when brilliance is also matched in the heavens.

In point of fact, the horoscope for this May Full Moon of the Earth Dog has many amazing planetary patterns, such as two ‘Grand Trines’ and a ‘Finger of God’, that make this one of the more astrologically intricate charts of the year, like a diamond sparkling with many facets, each with their own heavenly hue.
So much so, the potential for falling for glamour and getting lost in shimmy and sparkle – even in a fun, frivolous way, can lose sight of the bigger picture. So with this most fiery Full Moon watch out for getting burnt by the metaphoric hot sauce, or should that be ‘hot source’ ;) !

Astrological highlights & the Full Moon’s various facets and aspects:

    1) Jupiter is the planet which rules this fiery Sagittarian Moon. Jupiter leads the planets in a ‘Locomotive’ shaped astral map of this Full Moon. Generous Jupiter is the also a spiritual master that provides the correct view – even going backwards. Now retrograde motion in Scorpio, Jupiter is currently revisiting issues to do with trust, control and power. But interestingly, and maybe because Jupiter is also the planet of hope, Jupiter is now conjunct a fixed star called Zuben Elgenubi – a star portending positive social reform. This influence will stay for the next few months – until the end of August. We put faith into this astral Full Moon aspiration.

2 )   When we include sextiles thrown from both the 8° Sun and Moon Gemini and Sagittarius to the Leo-Aquarius Lunar Nodes (North & South), we see a ‘Mystic Rectangle’ = Practical magic with creative inclusivity.

      3) TWO GRAND TRINES!!! = an almost Merkaba, double tetrahedron, with the two Grand Trines being Fire & Water. Yin water AND fire yang.  …Things might get steamy!

The dynamics of a fiery Full Moon Grand Fire trine include the self-directed, destiny-fulfilling Leo North Node; stabilised trine again by Shamanic Shapeshifter, Chiron – the asteroid recently moved into self-orientated Aries. Chiron is currently conjunct fixed star Mirach, indicating a harmonious self-healing. Take note: this is a quick fleeting association, only lasting until the Moon is full.

The Grand Water Trine is currently dominant and longer lasting, shifting in and out of intensity until the July Full Moon. Currently involving Love Goddess Venus, in homebody Cancer; with expansive Jupiter in intense Scorpio; and oceanic Neptune in Pisces: all bound together spiralling in a triangular wave of emotion in fluid motion. A Grand Water Trine reveals spiritual and karmic mysteries, as well as how people are easily influenced. Over the next eight weeks, the heavens will continue to grace us with this currently tight triangle formation.

Jupiter in Scorpio, plus Neptune in Pisces, encourages us to be in our flow. Whether cash, love or ideas, being in one’s flow also means keeping an open mind and making changes when necessary. Being in your flow also means that if there’s a block, you innately sense ways to go around it; similarly, if there’s a hole, know there’s a way to go through it, even if that requires planning and patience. And if something is not clear, remember there are ways to clarify – and giving yourself space is one of the easiest ways to do so..

Its worth mentioning that the trine from Jupiter in Scorpio to Neptune in Pisces is perhaps one of the most favourable aspects of 2018, as it grows the ability to touch base with the psyche and subconscious, with lucid dream for instance, or at least present the potential for an awareness of the dream and the dream-body – and the ultimate reminder that all life is an illusion.  The dates of influence are Dec 3rd 2017 -> May 25th August 19th 2018.

   4)  Mutable T-Square = Hard and challenging changes present an opportunity for the mutable signs LOVE WISDOM to emanate.
Moon in Sagittarius =  ‘I KNOW’ the vastness of the soul
Sun in Gemini = ‘I THINK’ with the alacrity of Spirit
Neptune in Pisces = ‘I BELIEVE’ in the magic of the dream, and the compassion of the human Spirit.

5) A karmic ‘Yod’ aka ‘the Finger of God’ or ‘Finger of Fate’ with the Gemini Sun sextile the future-beckoning North Node, in creative Leo; with both NN & Sun honing 150 °to karmic Saturn, to pin point the pressure for future karmic responsibility.

Lastly, I wanted to note Mars retrograde for the coming months, and the square it now makes in this chart with Uranus. As Mars is a warrior planet it’s good to be aware that we have already had this year a slew of really difficult Mars aspects, rattling potential danger, most recently from past (collective, fanatical and weird) disputes – perceived or real. How we handle Mars, in often quickly developing moments is key to the heart at peace, especially among our mates and kindred spirits. This year we have already witnessed a couple of really challenging planetary connections including Mars; in chronological order: starting with martial Mars conjunct karmic Saturn (2nd April) ; followed by the intensely combative Mars conjunct transformational Pluto (26th April); and from now, and throughout the Summer, Mars conjuncts the karmic what-you-bring-from-past-lives, South Node, in Aquarius, also making a harmonious ‘sextile’ to the Sagittarian Full Moon, and a boon-giving ‘Trine’ to brilliant Gemini Sun. This is not necessarily an easy aspect, however, and over the years I have witnessed attacks from restless ruffians during this aspect. So please take good care. In the ‘highest sense, for Mars in Aquairus the challenge is to be actively altruistic; at its most base watch-out for nutcases with old grudge matches . Also, seeing as Aquarius rules technology, there could also be a wave of cyber-attacks (as has happened to beloved C*I*A facebook page getting hacked and hijacked). We would really like the page back in Agent 12’s control – asap!

This is Astro Dakini, signing off for another lunation...

✴️️ SakaDawa Full Moon May 21st 2016

Inner truth, outer courage – Inner light, outer brilliance
Full Moon in Sagittarius
May 21st 2016 @ 21:14 UT
Stirring up courage, passion, and ardour, May’s Full Sagittarian truth-seeking Moon is most dynamic and active. And because the Moon is conjunct Mars, 21st-22nd (depending upon time zone), emotions can also be quick to rise – even though Mars is retrograde and slow (i.e. closest to the Earth, in a phase called ‘Mars Max’*). Therein lies the key; if/when dealing with destructive emotions such as anger or frustration, or when moving too fast, slow down, breathe deep; energy levels may be low (or easily drained: Mars rules the adrenal ‘fight or flight’ glands) and reactions may be awkward. So take time if making major decisions (such as buying property) and practice patience, because ‘more haste is less speed’. Or as one of my spiritual teachers says “speed is aggression”.

The Moon not only joins feisty, freedom-loving Mars during this philosophically inclined Sagittarian Moon, but on the last of the three Full Moon nights (23rd), Luna then conjuncts weighty Saturn, bringing reality to the fore. There are many astrological significators which indicate sensitivity is seriously heightened during this particular Full Moon, with excitement quickly followed by karmic payback (good or bad). Events/situations/plans that possibly link as far back as August, and/or November 2015, could even come home to roost for a final time. Yet still, due to Mercury also going forward within a day of the exact Full Moon (@21:13UT), the heart mind has the potential to realise the value of living a good and healthy life, where needs are met in an uncomplicated manner.

Be that as it may, the Moon, and all she symbolises (empathy, the feminine, water, the people, etc.) could feel besieged by seemingly forceful influences. This Full Moon illuminates soul’s longing for a greater understanding of life’s more abstract concepts, and is actually a good time to consider the long-term: because warrior Mars and no-nonsense Saturn do not ‘perfect’ at this moment in time (i.e. they do not conjunct, but are now brought together by the Moon), far-sighted Sagittarian issues, such as mind-expansion, deeper-meaning and faith, are highlighted. A Full Moon in the sign of the centaur accents the Spiritual Warrior who lives in the ‘now’, even when presented with a glimpse of future concerns that are cosmically bound to be prominent at the end of August 2016, when Mars and Saturn finally meet (@ 10° Sagittarius).

With Moon conjoined to Mars, it also means Sun is opposite Mars.  Sun opposition Moon and Venus opposition Mars sees both sets of relationship planets on other sides of the sky. This can be the classic marriage of ‘opposites attract’ or just that others can repel; either way these two oppositions spark a creative (and sexual) tension that could all-too- easily feed ego competition. Rise to a challenge by all means, but remember that any merit in your karmic credit bank is wiped-out in one fell swoop if anger is negatively expressed. In the words of the Buddha “Anger is like holding onto hot coals – you are the one who gets hurt!”

Luckily, Sun at 1Gemini is conjoined to harmonious Venus, still at home in Taurus. Venus helps the non-stop whirring mind of the Gemini Sun to generate a positive mental attitude with the kind of enthusiasm that fuels inner warmth and de-light. Though this is no ‘ordinary’ Venusian Love Goddess the Sun shines upon; she is combust (behind the Sun) revealing how unconditional, self-love also now means loving the wild side of the feminine and honouring the woman who runs with wolves and hunts in moonlight.

Currently at the 26th degree of Taurus, Venus aligns with a fixed star called ‘Algol’, which represents the ‘Gorgon’s Head’, the snake-hair dreadlocked Medusa, whose name originally meant ‘sovereign female wisdom’. Fixed stars pinpoint certain intensity. In this case, it is a concentrated primal feminine passion which, if obstructed or repressed, severed or feared, has the potential to dramatically turn to stone (situations and or people)– or, not-so-surprisingly, to heal, especially when the powerful feminine force is revered. Bear in mind that each one of us has an intuitive feminine side – even if you’re a guy; and Mars only disarms for Venusian charm (made especially poignant as Venus and Mars oppose each other as the Moon wanes on the 25th),  which, when embraced, restores an internal balance that inspires our natural radiance and true identity to shine.

For many people the world over, who live in accordance with the rhythm of lunar lore, this is also a most important Moon in the Buddhist calendar, as it celebrates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Gothama Siddartha Buddha. Buddha was a historically real person, who lived over 2500 years ago and taught that we are all born with an inner-light we can grow, to dispel darkness specifically through sharing our love and happiness. This ‘Festival of Light’ is known as ‘Wesak’ throughout Far-Eastern Asia, ‘Buddha Purnima’ in India, and ‘Saga Dawa’ in the Himalayas. It is a Full Moon is considered to be a ‘Karma Multiplied day’, encouraging a mindfulness of our own natural brilliance during this glorious light-filled Silver Moon, to be enhanced by planets Scarlet Mars, Golden Saturn, and Rosy Venus. Shine on dear astro brothers and sisters. May this be a Moon when the luminous clear light of (self) Love (not in an egotistical way) beams and radiates from within, and all around…

Lastly, as Sagittarius is the zodiac sign of philosophical understanding and spiritual practice, I close this Full Moon report with a prayer from our great esoteric (Gemini Sun) astrologer, Alice A.Bailey, to invoke the light within.

The Great Invocation
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.
From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ** return to Earth.
From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men –
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

**Many believe in a World Teacher, a “Coming One”, knowing him under such names as the Lord Maitreya, the Imam Mahdi, the Kalki Avatar and the Bodhisattva (which we can all be, by aspiring to live a life that benefits others). These terms are sometimes used in versions of the Great Invocation for people of specific faiths.

*Astologer Richard Nolle, who termed the phrase ‘SuperMoon’, also invented the name ‘Mars Max’, for the phase for when Mars is closest to the Earth and brightest in the midnight sky.

☼ Saka Dawa Full Moon __/❤\__ Friday 13th June ~>

Saka Dawa Düchen
☆•*¨*•.¸¸☾ KARMA MULTIPLIED X 100 MILLION! ☽¸¸.•*¨*•☆

The effects of actions, good or bad, are multiplied during Saka Dawa, when Himalayan Buddhists celebrate the birth, enlightenment and paranirvana of Gautama Sakyamuni Buddha, with the truth-seeking Sagittarius Full Moon which, at 22 degrees in the sign of the Archer, exact Friday June 13th at 4:11UT.

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” Buddha _/\_....

☼ ♊ ~> ☽ ♐ ~> Wisdom-seeking Sagittarius is the inspirational sign of honesty and integrity, as’ The Archer’ aims his arrow high in search of freedom and greater knowledge. There’s no time like the present for illumination. Now the adventurous Moon is opposite Spirit Sun in communicative Gemini, there’s a potential immediacy seeing life's journey as karmic lessons towards self-realization, which can come in an instant. Aligning Spirit with the intuitive soul as one's life's purpose activates special insight and the wisdom-eye's ability to perceive clarity from confusion is heightened.

Mercury retrograde also currently asks us to determine healthy emotion from habitual sentimentality, as well as fact from fiction, magic from awe, so that personal (and collective) karmic obscuration can be reprogrammed, resolved and removed. This Full Moon also pinpoints and determines old wounds which may be tricky to cure – either the right diagnosis is yet to be made or the holistic healing view is not fully understood, in which case be patient and give yourself time.

‘The Lights’ also focus upon devotion to our sacred interconnections, to family and friends, and the abundant healing power of the Earth and spiritual teachers, making this a great time to practice. So these next few days may well be filled with ‘Ah-Ha’ moments that come about from observing the heart-mind's ability to blossom in creativity and truth – especially seeing the light when we take refuge in the Buddha’s teachings of glorious ethical goodness.

Wishing One and all a very happy triple XXX Solar Flare illumination Saka Dawa Düchen, may the shining LoveLight benefit of all beings.

☼ Saka Dawa Guru Rinpoche Day ~> breathing the Love-Light

June 8th
☼ ♊ ~ △ ~ ☾ ♎
Staying on center, taking care of self (and family), and finding the balance within makes it easier to deal with tricky encounters. With Sun in quicksilver Gemini stimulating the mind, and the reflective Moon in harmonious Libra, ‘The Lights’ now illuminate the intellectual Air element, suggesting it’s time to skilfully influence and balance our thoughts. One of the fastest ways to harness the constantly moving mind is through breathing, as the ancient teachings tell us 'breath is mind's vehicle to Spirit'. Consciously working with the breath soothes the heart-mind to restrain negative emotions, as well as maintaining internal harmony by clearing emotional or psychic knots within the subtle body.

With the Moon next to Mars fiery emotions can quickly rise – and exhaust. While it’s true passion can energize, anger depletes positive karma in one fell swoop. Struggling with aggression or other negative emotions which eat into the bank of karmic merit is unnecessary when you can positively motivate and energize by taking two minutes out of the day to concentrate upon breathing: Doing so quickly calms and controls the chattering monkey mind, increases vitality and focus, and generates an inner peace that relaxes both mind AND body. And it’s so easy to instantly tune into the natural conscious intelligence that surrounds us and imbibe ‘prana’, the universal holy life force of ‘Air’ ~> Go now, find a comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed for a few minutes: Breathe in for the count of 5, hold for 5 and exhale for 5…

…and note how much more in your flow you can become.

In the approach to the Karma-Multiplied Full Sagittarius, wisdom-seeking Moon, today (Sunday) is also the day in my spiritual tradition that we honor the holy Lama (within), who is laden with good qualities.

With courageous Mars next to the Moon also suggests we can bravely acknowledge how to manage our lives to live in peace and harmony, specifically by walking the Dharma path, putting the Buddha’s teachings into practice. __/\__

✶ Medicine Buddha ~ Tara Moon ~> June 5th/6th __/❤\__ Sacred Star

There are times when the heavens specifically concentrate upon certain energies. This First Quarter Moon with the Gemini Sun and Virgo Moon is such a time, as the emphasis of ‘The Lights’, Sun and Moon, spotlight healing of all kinds: physical, mental and spiritual.

Be aware of the mind’s ability to influence progress, remaining positive is crucial to the speed of recovery. Try not to wallow in any mire, focus instead up that which brings joy. Quicksilver Gemini Sun is still conjunct healing asteroid Hygeia, who was wife/aid to Aesculapius, the father of our modern medicine, accenting the call for swift solutions (though to be fair, family/media issues may be slowed by Mercury retrograde, starting 7th June for three weeks); The Sun in hard aspect to thoughtful and considerate Virgo Moon suggests having the ability to change course and think quickly, even whilst on the move.

This profoundly healing Moon phase also configures the enchanting six-pointed Grand Sextile, a sacred star formation connecting a stabilizing Earth Trine with the deeply intuitive current Water Trine. Though this beautiful star formation is fleeting, indeed, it will be waning tomorrow, the celestial energy for 5th and 6th June is still very much geared towards overcoming obstacles by being both, realistic AND magical. En route to the karma multiplied Saka Dawa Full Moon on the 13th, now is the time for helpful visualization and practical application to any problem. So keep in the mind's eye an end image, and be prepared to move fast to apply speedy solutions to any issue, no matter how big or small the difficulty might seem.

“We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.” Buddha

ॐ Dakini Day ~> May 23rd/24th ॐ_/♥\_ॐ_/♥\_ॐ_/♥\_

Coming into the last major phase of this moon cycle, with only five days before the New Gemini Moon that starts the month of SakaDawa, today’s Dakini Moon in Aries puts fire in your soul and brilliance at the heart.

This highly independent Aries Moon also activates the Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun, the current celestial configuration t
hat is dynamic, active and extremely influential. Because this Grand Cross also involves generational planets, it means the initiation into transformation and often dramatic change is felt by everyone, in one way or another. Whether the changes we individually go through are seen or unseen (as in spiritual or psychological), it is over this weekend that the initiating power and insight from the Divine Feminine (which we all possess) that now sets the stage for liberation, with this super-strong and passionate Aries Moon.

Note this adventurous Aries Moon conjuncts wild-card Uranus on Saturday 24th, when insight can come from out of the blue. As can less helpful emotions, such as egotism, selfishness and anger. That Uranus is the Hierarchical ruler of Aries, it does however suggest raising the altruistic intention and helping others is the way to help oneself.

Today’s positive aspect from the Gemini Sun and Aries Moon also coincides with Mercury entering into the shadow phase of its retrograde, which will take place June 7th until July 1st. An applying shadow phase tends to alert us to possible issues which will need extra attention during the retrograde. And as Mercury rules Gemini there’s a double emphasis upon healing, communication and, dare I say, trickery. Yet there may even be more solutions than usual, as well as more slip-ups. Gemini and Mercury are both known as being quick-witted and highly versed in mental gymnastics, aware there are many paths, each with interesting twists and turns which lead to the same place – and much will depend upon our ability juggle many things at the same time, as well as relations with sangha and friends, as to the speed to which we achieve the aims we now set forth over these next few days.

✿ Tara ~ Medicine Moon ✿◕‿◕✿ 21st - 22nd May _/\_

Spirit Sun now shifts the celestial spotlight away from the steady Bull, to focus upon free-flowing, intellectual Gemini. This move into the sign of the twins helps shape the mind and thoughts by encouraging a vivid imagination and the power to visualize, rousing a certain curiosity to communicate and analyze personal needs, set against a background of communal issues, both of which may seem all-consuming.

Whether wanting to save oneself - or the world – forgiveness could be called for now, and again towards the end of May, when raising Bodhicitta and generating compassion is at the heart of self-development. This intense pressure for personal changes within collective transformation shows little sign of letting up throughout this zodiacal month, because dynamic Mars once again activates the Cardinal Cross of Central Spiritual Sun. Thankfully the scarlet the planet of action, Mars, has now put on the breaks after four and half months of retrograde motion in Libra, sign of balance and harmony, and is now going forward. Though certain (relationship) issues may have experienced a bumpy turn around these past few days, a direct Mars is now moving to encounter Goddesses Vesta & Ceres, suggesting there’s merit in nurturing a sacred sexuality, especially if one is to cultivate harmonious personal relations. This leads me to reiterate now how the waning phase of a Moon cycle is specifically attributed to the Divine Feminine in Tibetan astrology.

With Goddess Tara presiding over this last quarter 21st-22nd May, it is the intuitive feminine wisdom (which we all have) that provides the courage and strength to free us from fear and anxiety. Also during this latter part of our current lunar cycle the Sun is conjunct the healing asteroid Goddess Hygeia, plus the deeply sensitive Pisces Moon is conjunct compassionate Neptune. Thus ‘The Lights’ now emphasize healing through tolerance and kindness as ways to wind-down this lunation and, at the same time, prepare to begin clearing obstacles that might obscure the month of SakaDawa, when Himalayan Buddhist celebrate Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and paranirvana, which begins just after the new Moon, May 29th.

With ℒℴѵℯ_/✿\_ & thanks to the beautifully modern woman, standing Green Tara, whose mantra is...
"Om Tara Tutare Ture Soha"_/\_

☆ FireBrand ~> astro peek at Russell Brand

In the wake of a Paxman interview, the facebook newsfeed has become a one-man Russell Brand show, with Brand’s call to boycott voting and start a revolution soliciting extreme reaction from all sides. Some want to heed the battle cry and, presumably, die for him, as revolutions are never a civilised affair. But maybe that's not the kind of rEvolution RB is looking for? As others are very much against, generally men of a certain age who find Brand opinionated, trite and wayward. The girls seem to love him, possibly for the same reasons but seen in a different light, seeking a revolution of the heart.

As an astrologer it intrigued me to know what, from the planets’ point of view, does Russell Brand have to make him a magnet for others to either attract or repel in such a polarizing manner? Born with the loquacious Sun in Gemini on the 4th June 1975, at 00:07*, in Greys, Essex, Russell Brand’s horoscope buzzes with a larger-than-life, rather nervous and extremely assertive but deeply sensitive personality, one who loves novelty and variety, to be always on the go in constant communication. One might even say his gift-of-the-gab is a past-life thing; in this life he is to be the wiser media Guru. His destiny is to reveal mastery of the chat, aiming for wisdom's truths. The man even compared His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, in Manchester youth program not so long ago!

His Capricorn chart ruler, karmic Saturn, is deadly serious, in contrast to the playful Gemini Spirit. Coming across as dark and handsome with a devilish twist is also part of the Brand charm; with weighty Saturnian topics such as voting, politics and the environment delivered with clever and light-hearted Gemini wit.  The heavy-weight ruler, Saturn, is in detriment in the sign of Cancer, however, with challenges to the early home life and school, with issues surrounding the matriarch, such as food, mother and authority. Furthermore, Saturn's wide conjunction to Love Goddess Venus is another indication that he needs to take greater responsibility with his approach to women. After the age of 30, Saturn generally matures somewhat and can work the relationship issues that having Saturn in an area that improves when duty bound, by working his body, as well as intellect, the projected Peter Pan grows up to become a fast-talking Spiritual Media Warrior, who is now very much in tune with the present zeitgeist .

Even the title of Russell's recent show, ‘The Messiah Complex’, is revealed in his natal horoscope, as the Sun - which defines ego and identity (in the sign of the informative Twins) opposes Neptune, oceanic planet of spirituality and spiritual oneness. When working well, Neptune can indicate deep compassion and charity, meditation and yoga; but heaven help anyone whose Neptune is out of whack and opposite the Sun, as it denotes drug, alcohol, and all kinds of nefarious toxic abuse and addiction. Save or be saved, Neptune is also the planet of victims and martyrs, illusion and glamor, which makes it as easy for him to ‘lose’ himself (even if he has emotional control issues), and even easier for other to transfer their feelings about his celebrity, as well as political ideals onto Russell. How he deals with such idolization depends upon how profoundly he can tune into the spiritual world for refuge and support.

But what makes Brand’s horoscope really twinkle is how the current movement of the heavens excites the warrior within, urging him to become the knight in shining armor on a righteous cause, encourage people to wake-up to any present iniquity by exercising his gift to articulate rampant corruption.

Russel's chart is tuning into a dynamic alignment called ‘The Uranus Pluto Square’, of which there are seven squares over three years, which started in 2012, and finishes in 2015. This on-going square symbolises a tension between the traditional paradigm of absolute power and authority, and those seeking freedom and equality. Both Pluto and Uranus are generational planets that propel Russell’s scope into the vanguard of the action: Pluto, the planet of life, death and rebirth, activates a place of collective longing in Russell’s chart, while the planet of sudden upheaval, Uranus, sparks his well-placed and passionate Mars, courageous and dynamic planet of action. Whilst being able to mobilise, fight, and guide with giddy enthusiasm, this is the chart of a fireBrand who senses the perils of both the ordinary foot soldier AND the elite major general. Because his natal planet of revolution, Uranus in Libra, resonates with equality and freedom I suspect he sees himself as an innovative visionary, which he is, to a certain extent. At the very least he is the current mouthpiece for many of the disenfranchised 99%, unnerving a 1% - but still we can all applaud his bravery.

One last point is how Venus, the planet of love, is also an indicator of social skills, which sits almost exactly on his descendant, point of marriage and relationship. Even if people don’t always like what he says, they still seem to be fascinated, and dare I say, want his friend.

Sky Dancing Dakini Day! ~> June 2nd/3rd 2013

An airy Gemini Sun makes a harmonious aspect to the emotive Moon, in autonomous Aries. Together they generate a burning passion for the spiritual warrior to communicate and act upon thoughts seemingly carried by the wind.

Curious Gemini stimulates the enquiring mind to cruise the information highway and to transmit news, ideas, and knowledge. Moon in dynamic Aries quickly assimilates such information, so that how we feel about important issues can be swiftly assessed, synthesised and acted upon before next weekend’s Gemini New Moon, June 8th.

Interestingly, both spirit Sun and the fiery, living-in-the-moment Aries Moon are now in a good strong aspect to liberating Uranus, where ‘The Light’s’ highest vibration is for all beings to be treated as equal. Thus the Gemini sky-like mind spirals towards the end of this lunation with a feminine guiding hand that senses the need for personal independence and freedom, be that a freedom to think or worship, or from war, suffering or hunger. And thus has a cause to support.

Even with a helpful aspect, emotions can be powerful. So while Uranus dictates primitive emotion such as anger and selfishness are unhealthy and obstructive – i.e. always thinking of I, me and mine, it may be the seed for causing potential harm to others, as well as be bad for the heart; the caution here is to avoid thoughtless whim and sudden martial exploits on impulse. Uranus is the Hierarchical ruler of Aries: self-centred attitude can certainly be directed to developing personal strength, but using this might of individual volition for an altruistic cause and the benefits of others is the action of mindful warrior of the heart, not a domineering dictator.

Happily, this Summer’s delightful Grand Water Trine is now shaping up to direct the mind-stream to be in one’s flow: to be caring, perceptive and compassionate. This deeply sensitive Grand Trine sets the tone for the coming months, getting extra encouragement at the new Moon, as well as at another powerful Solstice Full SuperMoon (the 2nd Full SuperMoon in a row of three!).

Tara ~ Medicine Buddha Moon ~ May 31st _/♥\_

Sun in Gemini – Moon in Pisces ٠•●♥♥●•><((((º>

An ultra-sensitive Moon in Pisces is currently conjunct oceanic Neptune, and the zodiac’s shaman, Chiron. Three planets in the all-consuming sign of the fishes indicate that emotions are profound but insightful, leading to deep and meaningful healing, even if currently overwhelmed by Samsara's seemingly never-ending round of suffering, loss and separation. With the radiant light of the Sun illuminating fast-thinking Gemini, the curious mind is more easily aroused to analyze problems, discover compassion, and find workable solutions to all kinds of issues, be they physical, mental, or spiritual - even if it means making certain sacrifices in order to fulfill long-term goals for the greater good of the whole.

Goddess Tara now emphasizes these planets in Pisces, highlighting the need for tolerance and compassion, especially when overcoming obstacles; as we now resonate to the words of Marriane Williamson, “The practice of forgiveness is our most important contribution to the healing of the world.”

SAGA DAWA _/♥\_ Vesak _/♥\_ Buddha Purnima May 24th/25th 2013

Honouring the day of Buddha’s (birth) enlightenment & Paranirvana _/♥\_

KARMA MULITPLIED X 10 million, because one of the most important days in the Buddhist calendar, Saka Dawa (Saka = Sakyamuni Buddha & Dawa = Moon in Tibetan), is also a lunar eclipse, at 5:25 Gmt (00:25EST) early Saturday morning.  With Earth only faintly shadowing the sensitive Moon at 4° Sagittarius, opposite the 4°Gemini Sun, this third eclipse in a row nonetheless presents another turning point that can deepen empathy and compassion, as well as our connection to the subtleties of the heart-mind and body, to the seen and unseen. Psychic energy abounds during this eclipse, creating positive development as well as challenges to ego and emotion to comprehend the eternal energies of cosmic consciousness. Thus the interplay between Sun, Moon and Earth - cosmos, self, and the Divine, becomes a delicate dance skillfully synchronising interior and exterior towards enlightenment.

To add to the responsiveness of this Full Moon in the sign of the archer, it is also the only Supermoon eclipse of the year, when tidal pull is strong. Seeing how we are 70%+ water, we too are now subject to poignant swings. However sensitive or emotional one might feel now or over the coming days, this eclipse encourages one to be adventurous. The greatest journey, however, is inside the mind, to broaden both thinking and vision and determine illusion from delusion. The Sagittarius-Gemini axis stimulates mental processes, integrating recent realisation (over the past 6 months) – intellectual or spiritual – into daily life and become more self-accepting, tolerant of others, and aware also of how powerful speech, thought, and media can be. Truth-seeking Sagittarius is the sign of the sage who comprehends the dualistic Gemini mode of communication: ideas aired now impact strongly upon others, spiritual or otherwise, which makes it all the more important that we have the right view with the right understanding because, in the words of the Buddha "All is mind. What we think we become"

Whilst bathing under Full Moonbeams we also have a rare week-long conjunction of three planets: Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, all in the sign of the twins, which can be seen just after sunset in the northwest of the sky.  Generally speaking, these planets working together generally portend an optimistic outcome; and even if a little over the top, one can be philosophical.  Mercury & Venus are also currently ‘out-of-bounds’ meaning that they have strayed over the celestial belt, making the planets of communication and love slightly renegade!

It’s also worth noting how Solar-flare resonance has been extremely high since the start of this lunation, with no less than 4 X-flares in a matter of days at the time of the first quarter. Any lethargy or confusion, stress or tension, could easily be personalised by Earth’s receptivity to Sun’s current action during this eclipse season. Bear in mind that we are at the height of an 11-year cycle of solar activity, ‘Solar Max’ as it is known in the astro trade. There may well be more X-flareS to come, but the constant flow of M-class flares we are no experiencing are ejecting high-energy protons and plasma guided towards earth along magnetic lines.  It’s almost as if the Light of Intelligence, Sun, charged-up to connect with the Divine self during this eclipse season to help us realise that individual consciousness and cosmic consciousness are actually indivisibly one.

Interestingly, though this eclipse will almost be impossible to detect, it’s importance lies in the fact that it is the beginning of a new series of Saros Cycles, called Saros 150, which will last 1262.11 years.  Saros Cycles are eclipse families joined by similar sacred geometry every 18 years 11 days, taking hundreds of years to complete. These are lengthy karmic cycles, opening heavenly gates for spiritual energies to move in and out. To my mind this eclipse marks a valid collective turning point, as it will bring energy in from North to South, joining heaven to earth.

Basically this weekend its time to draw back that Saggitarian bow and direct the arrow of intention to go forth & make Karmic Merit! :)

With many thanks to unknown artists for Radiant & eternal Buddha and the constellation Gemini
