Saka Dawa Earth Dog Year 2018

Full Moon in Sagittarius 2018 ~ Tuesday 29th May @14:20UT
 ~~ Enlightened Mind ~~
Celebrating the birth, enlightenment and paranirvana of the historical Buddha, this Full Moon is called ‘Sagadawa’ or ‘Saka Dawa’ in the Himalyan Buddhist tradition. In Tibetan astrology Saka means ‘Star’ and ‘Dawa’ means Moon, ’Star Moon’. _/\_ Saka Dawa is the most important sacred day of the Buddhist Calendar; today is therefore optimum to engage in virtuous activities and spiritual practice. Karma is further multiplied x 100billion

Whenever the Full Moon is in fiery Sagittarius – as it is at 8°10’ Sagittarius, Tuesday 29th May @14:19, adventure inspires and exploration beckons. Travel is therefore nicely starred. With a Full Moon in Sagittarius opposite the Gemini Sun, the quest is one of enquiry directed inwards to discover how ideas stir and stimulate the breadth and depth of the world of feeling and emotion – and all the wonder that beholds within. While it is always helpful to cultivate the Sagittarian open mind that keeps worries and woes at bay, it’s also good to remember how the Sagittarian centaur is also half-man, half-horse, meaning the top half of the centaur represents the human brain, while the bottom half symbolises animal instincts.

While the Moon traverses the sign of the Centaur, those already with a predilection for passionate escapade can spend hours trying to unite brains and beauty with the drives of the internal beast, using prized intellect to overcome, integrate, and make sense of animalistic longing. Sagittarius is actually a mythical four-legged archer with horse-power for stamina and the ability to be extremely lucky. The Centaur is a skilled rider on the move, at one with his steed, armed with a bow and arrow.

Whenever you see Asian Oriental deities holding a bow and arrow, particularly Buddhist deities, it is the bow that is usually held in the left ‘wisdom’ hand, while the arrow is held in the ‘method-of-compassion’ right hand. This hand pairing of wisdom and compassion therefore propels one towards a life using ‘skilful means’ from an ethical point of view. From the astrological point of view the bow and arrow symbolises the high-flying analytical mind, with grand ideas aiming beyond the stratosphere.

It’s clear a free-roaming and spontaneous Centaur requires the freedom and free-will and independence to explore humanity’s higher ideals through theories and beliefs. No one ever got enlightened through concepts, but to celebrate academic and abstract ideas that revere the human connection with the natural world, gives life greater spiritual meaning.

So the temptation is to now saddle-up while the Moon is in the sign of the Centaur, leave troubles behind without a care in the world and gallop off into the far-horizon: casual, relaxed and brave. With a spacious mind, the Moon in Sagittarius will also focus upon those feelings which inspire confidence. When searching for answers – and the truth, the Moon Sagittarius will experience different cultures, different philosophies and even different gods, all the while adapting vessels into which one can pour faith, hope and charity. Anything foreign appeals to the Moon in Sagittarius: the more exotic and bizarre, the more it fascinates. A fiery Sagittarius Moon literally hungers for veracity and the freedom to spiritually grow.

During the Sagittarian Full Moon it’s the wise, however, who accepts inspiration and divinity are already within – aware that looking outside for enlightened intelligence to magically come and solve all life problems is unrealistic and only offers false expectation. That said; this Sagittarian Full Moon opposite the Gemini Sun culminates less than two degrees away from Fixed Star, Antares, indicating success and power comes from a discerning kind of insight. Be aware this placement also comes with a celestial warning. The Royal Star Antares demands focus and concentration for clarity to manifest. It also stresses how important it is not to become swamped in drama or crisis, as that could stymie you in your tracks. Take note: a few hours immediately following culmination, the Moon conjuncts a bright red star, Antares, offering a conceivable Eureka moment, when brilliance is also matched in the heavens.

In point of fact, the horoscope for this May Full Moon of the Earth Dog has many amazing planetary patterns, such as two ‘Grand Trines’ and a ‘Finger of God’, that make this one of the more astrologically intricate charts of the year, like a diamond sparkling with many facets, each with their own heavenly hue.
So much so, the potential for falling for glamour and getting lost in shimmy and sparkle – even in a fun, frivolous way, can lose sight of the bigger picture. So with this most fiery Full Moon watch out for getting burnt by the metaphoric hot sauce, or should that be ‘hot source’ ;) !

Astrological highlights & the Full Moon’s various facets and aspects:

    1) Jupiter is the planet which rules this fiery Sagittarian Moon. Jupiter leads the planets in a ‘Locomotive’ shaped astral map of this Full Moon. Generous Jupiter is the also a spiritual master that provides the correct view – even going backwards. Now retrograde motion in Scorpio, Jupiter is currently revisiting issues to do with trust, control and power. But interestingly, and maybe because Jupiter is also the planet of hope, Jupiter is now conjunct a fixed star called Zuben Elgenubi – a star portending positive social reform. This influence will stay for the next few months – until the end of August. We put faith into this astral Full Moon aspiration.

2 )   When we include sextiles thrown from both the 8° Sun and Moon Gemini and Sagittarius to the Leo-Aquarius Lunar Nodes (North & South), we see a ‘Mystic Rectangle’ = Practical magic with creative inclusivity.

      3) TWO GRAND TRINES!!! = an almost Merkaba, double tetrahedron, with the two Grand Trines being Fire & Water. Yin water AND fire yang.  …Things might get steamy!

The dynamics of a fiery Full Moon Grand Fire trine include the self-directed, destiny-fulfilling Leo North Node; stabilised trine again by Shamanic Shapeshifter, Chiron – the asteroid recently moved into self-orientated Aries. Chiron is currently conjunct fixed star Mirach, indicating a harmonious self-healing. Take note: this is a quick fleeting association, only lasting until the Moon is full.

The Grand Water Trine is currently dominant and longer lasting, shifting in and out of intensity until the July Full Moon. Currently involving Love Goddess Venus, in homebody Cancer; with expansive Jupiter in intense Scorpio; and oceanic Neptune in Pisces: all bound together spiralling in a triangular wave of emotion in fluid motion. A Grand Water Trine reveals spiritual and karmic mysteries, as well as how people are easily influenced. Over the next eight weeks, the heavens will continue to grace us with this currently tight triangle formation.

Jupiter in Scorpio, plus Neptune in Pisces, encourages us to be in our flow. Whether cash, love or ideas, being in one’s flow also means keeping an open mind and making changes when necessary. Being in your flow also means that if there’s a block, you innately sense ways to go around it; similarly, if there’s a hole, know there’s a way to go through it, even if that requires planning and patience. And if something is not clear, remember there are ways to clarify – and giving yourself space is one of the easiest ways to do so..

Its worth mentioning that the trine from Jupiter in Scorpio to Neptune in Pisces is perhaps one of the most favourable aspects of 2018, as it grows the ability to touch base with the psyche and subconscious, with lucid dream for instance, or at least present the potential for an awareness of the dream and the dream-body – and the ultimate reminder that all life is an illusion.  The dates of influence are Dec 3rd 2017 -> May 25th August 19th 2018.

   4)  Mutable T-Square = Hard and challenging changes present an opportunity for the mutable signs LOVE WISDOM to emanate.
Moon in Sagittarius =  ‘I KNOW’ the vastness of the soul
Sun in Gemini = ‘I THINK’ with the alacrity of Spirit
Neptune in Pisces = ‘I BELIEVE’ in the magic of the dream, and the compassion of the human Spirit.

5) A karmic ‘Yod’ aka ‘the Finger of God’ or ‘Finger of Fate’ with the Gemini Sun sextile the future-beckoning North Node, in creative Leo; with both NN & Sun honing 150 °to karmic Saturn, to pin point the pressure for future karmic responsibility.

Lastly, I wanted to note Mars retrograde for the coming months, and the square it now makes in this chart with Uranus. As Mars is a warrior planet it’s good to be aware that we have already had this year a slew of really difficult Mars aspects, rattling potential danger, most recently from past (collective, fanatical and weird) disputes – perceived or real. How we handle Mars, in often quickly developing moments is key to the heart at peace, especially among our mates and kindred spirits. This year we have already witnessed a couple of really challenging planetary connections including Mars; in chronological order: starting with martial Mars conjunct karmic Saturn (2nd April) ; followed by the intensely combative Mars conjunct transformational Pluto (26th April); and from now, and throughout the Summer, Mars conjuncts the karmic what-you-bring-from-past-lives, South Node, in Aquarius, also making a harmonious ‘sextile’ to the Sagittarian Full Moon, and a boon-giving ‘Trine’ to brilliant Gemini Sun. This is not necessarily an easy aspect, however, and over the years I have witnessed attacks from restless ruffians during this aspect. So please take good care. In the ‘highest sense, for Mars in Aquairus the challenge is to be actively altruistic; at its most base watch-out for nutcases with old grudge matches . Also, seeing as Aquarius rules technology, there could also be a wave of cyber-attacks (as has happened to beloved C*I*A facebook page getting hacked and hijacked). We would really like the page back in Agent 12’s control – asap!

Dream Healing & the Power of Compassion

Full Moon 14° Pisces 6th September @ 7:03UT
Culminating September 6th with a deeply sensitive Full Moon in all-consuming water-sign Pisces, this lunation began with the “Great American Solar Eclipse” August 21st. Since that glorious event (the first, I might add, since the advent of TV or Internet connecting to the global hive-mind), awe turned to dread witnessing the incredible power of mother nature with fire, wind and water out-of-control, spectacularly the latter liquid element overwhelming both sides of the world as rain deluged Southern United states as well as Northern India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Africa.  With millions of people worldwide whose lives are at a loss in situations in which they have little or no control, when we add those affected by war, drought and disease, the numbers of living beings currently needing help seems immeasurable; and our entire collective, as symbolised by the zodiac’s twelfth and last sign, that of the Fishes, adrift forlorn in sea of suffering, and floundering helplessly from one disaster to another.  Usually it is those least equipped to survive storms who are hardest hit.

☆ Living in the last vestiges of the 2000-year Age of Pisces (In the ‘Great Year’ there a couple of hundred years yet to go until we reach the Age of Aquarius!), humanity’s lessons are manifold and complex, as Pisces has vast astrological governance that ranges from the madness of an inspired crazy visionary, large institutions, to the ravages of toxins, alcohol, drugs and dependency (oil, petrol, gas, hazardous chemicals), all if which belong to Pisces, Neptune and the 12th house. Pisces also runs the gamut of all emotions. A healthy Piscean influence can surge up from the polluted depths to spiritually purify and reach ecstatic, blissful emotion through dance, music, film, yoga, prayer, art, dreams, tai-chi, photography, meditation and mantra.  It is whatever takes you out of your subconscious ‘self’ and erodes the boundaries that confine the self-serving egol; Pisces helps to discover a profound compassion and charity towards others. Christianity was born into this Piscean epoch, hence the proliferation of the symbolic ‘Vesica Pisces’ graffiti and bumper stickers.  As well as fuelling Messiah complexes, psychedelic hypnotic art and mass deception, Pisces is also the symbol of victims and martyrs, saints and sinners.

☆ Whenever the sensitive Moon is in Pisces it’s easy to get swept along by the hysteria of human emotion, be that in excitement or panic. Make a note now how Pisces senses trending undercurrents before they break.

With a watery Pisces Full Moon conjunct its modern ruler Neptune, also in Pisces, it means dreams can become prophetic, laden with poetic meaning and subliminal messages; tuning into the unspoken and unseen to touch base with one’s own centre helps discover the love and joy of being alive that stops one from getting dragged into mania’s oblivion. Ultimately, the Two Fishes, one facing Earth and the other to Heaven, teaches us to be comfortable in one’s flow, which often takes a leap of faith in the ever-present, divinely miraculous LOVE WISDOM. Therein lays the essence of this Full Pisces Moon Report: how to attain and maintain spiritual oneness and engage in meaningful activity, and at the same time overcoming any overwhelming feelings created by observing the anguish that surrounds us.

☆ Looking at the astrological aspects of this Full Moon (aspects are the mathematical connections the planet make to each other), there are two main patterns. And they both involve taskmaster Saturn, the planet that toughens-up to become resilient in the face of adversity. The first is a challenging mutable ‘T-Square’, with the realistic Virgo Sun opposite a dreamy Pisces Moon, both making a ninety degree angle to sensible Saturn and Black Moon Lilith. This accents the importance of the farsighted wisdom that emanates from those wild, wild women who run with the wolves.

☆ The second is the ongoing 2017’s Fire Bird ‘Grand Fire Trine’; and as long as we are not too lazy in letting this gloriously creative astral agent pass us by, we can harness the sparky dynamic fire element with Uranus in Aries, Mercury & North Node in Leo, and Saturn in Sagittarius, to generate optimism for the future. To avoid burn-out, maintaining joyful enthusiasm is currently crucial for strength and stamina and a positive spiritual view. Whenever Saturn is so prominent the gloom and doom merchants come out in force, and we really need to make an effort not to fall for fear nor into depression.  Admittedly, to master waves of difficult emotion  takes practice AND a personal responsibility for one’s own spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing; Saturn, however, gives us that patience to work cautiously, with care: in Sagittarius it also suggests that we can look abroad, further than our comfort zone, to find applicable knowledge and information that will help accomplish ambitions.

Whenever Saturn is in such a tough T-Square to ‘The Lights‘, Sun and Moon, there’s also a tendency to become hardened, especially to the already afflicted. Instead of building helpful laws and open-minded governance, Saturn in fear puts others down and builds walls that isolate and divide. However, the real fear, over this Full Moon is ‘charity fatigue’, when we stop giving of ourselves because of feeling disheartened. In the German language there’s a word for feeling overwhelmed by the enormous amount of woe we witness daily: Weltschmertz. It’s a word that describes the apathy that comes about when we feel helpless or discouraged by the actual state of the world – a world conflicting with our own ideals. The French call it ‘ennui’, debilitating world weariness; whilst in English we might call it an ‘existential angst’ that freezes with perceived pointlessness. To understand this kind of apathy, particularly a collective apathy, we look to the sign of the fishes, Pisces, Neptune and planets in the 12th house. The sign of the Fishes shows how we operate when we’re inundated or plagued and, during a Full Pisces Moon, what we are prepared to sacrifice to create order. Interestingly, Pisces can also show that in the cause problems also lies the way to safety and healing, and how we can dream and magic our way out of feeling flooded by rising (emotional) tides is accented by this tight T-Square from the Lights to Saturn.

Those born in the mid-1960’s or with planets in Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, could well be sensing this most. If that is the case then please remember the words of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who always says that if you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a room with a mosquito!

☆ However you haul yourself up, out and away from difficult situations, by playing broody Johnny Cash (Pisces) songs, or sitting on top of a mountain communing with nature, talking to girlfriends, or walking the dog in the park, now is the time to imbibe the combination of a practical and feminine Virgo Sun with no-nonsense Saturn’s realistic approach (Eat well, sleep well, exercise regularly.). While we all play our part in a world of Oneness – heal yourself and you heal the world – there are also circumstances which are not of our own personal making. Yet we can all still do something about our (collective) condition.  Sun and Moon in square to karmic Saturn make apparent how the present situation is a result of the past (karma), whilst the future-orientated Grand Fire Trine acknowledges how present actions and ideas influence our prospects. All the while, the Sun in Virgo accents useful strengths and skills for the meaningful activity that gives life purpose and drive.

☆ Also worthy of note is how both Sun and Moon are also in positive aspect to Pluto, suggesting whatever our situation, a shared transformation is happening. Because these aspects are positive they also indicate we can emerge from this Full Moon with our emotions and ego intact.

☆ Together the Pisces Moon unites with Neptune to form a wide conjunction with shamanic Chiron the zodiac’s wounded medicine man. This combination inspires unconditional cosmic love, compassion and forgiveness, specifically by not holding onto blame or shame whilst dream healing (I suggest that you keep a record of your dreams or make an old-fashioned vision board).  A Pisces stellium opposite Virgo also indicates the ability to imagine a powerful restoration. Remember thoughts have wings and what we think can become a reality; which brings me to the third planetary feature during this Full Moon, concerning Mercury, the quick-thinking celestial courier.

☆ There are several astrological points to consider with Mercury as the healer, wheeler dealer now station at the end of the retrograde period, to go forward on the very same degree as the Sun occupied during the infamous Solar Eclipse. Mercury – and Mars – will also conjunct fixed star Regulus, indicating great success in the fields of action and communication (which comes with a proviso: as long as one is not motivated by revenge, then one loses all, including respect). Yet Mercury is still not out of the shadow period until at least 12th September; and a talking point until the Autumn Equinox 22nd September. So if you have big decisions to make, please take your time to question incentives and to digest and understand this is not a time to rush into life-changing situations. That may well come about around the start of the next lunation, 20th September, or indeed a week later with a First Quarter Moon instigates change on 28th September, when expansive Jupiter opposes shocking Uranus, and radical twists and turns could related to (technological) issues as far back as 2010/11.

This last aspect comes into planetary play over the Full Moon with a ‘Kite Formation’ which involves the 2017 Phoenix Grand Fire Trine. A ‘Kite’ sees the Trine, three planets 120° apart, coupled with a 60°sextile aspect forming a midpoint between two of the planets. In this case that midpoint is between Saturn and Mercury (mindful of responsibility) to expansive Jupiter, which is then in opposition to Uranus, the agent of change. This ‘opposition’ then forms the axis of the Kite, suggesting Uranus is dominant when funnelling excitement, i.e. change really is the only constant, even if that change is a little chaotic.

☆ The key to riding change is to make adjustments, aware of the intensity of the present moment. Because Uranus clarifies in sudden, sometimes outrageous ways, a Uranus aspect demonstrates how not to cling to desired outcomes, but to remain open to opportunities that come our way, and to embrace the future with a compassionate and altruistic world view, with hope in our heart.
And remember “If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.” ~ Jack Kornfield

⊚ Leo Eclipse at the Loving Heart of the Solar Dragon King (Rahu) - August 2017

☆ •°*☾ ☀️☽ * Solar Eclipse 29° Leo *☾☀️☽ *°•.☆

... ⊚ 🙏Karma multiplied day x 100 million ... ⊚

A second New Moon in Sun-ruled Leo reveals why Leo is the sign of fiery drama, razzmatazz and all kinds of theatrics – celestial or otherwise! Eclipses also always create a buzz; and although there are two sets of Lunar and Solar every year (six months apart) it may be because this is the first of its kind on US land since the birth of global connecting TV and internet, making it an eclipse of epic interest. So while energies get stirred up, as they always do during an eclipse, especially a sensational Leo Eclipse, please go easy out there!

This is a time for Spiritual Warriors to emanate self-awareness with a natural warmth towards everyone.

Now known as the 'Great American Eclipse of 2017', tomorrow’s New Moon Solar Eclipse will cut a shadowy swathe across the continent, from Oregon to South Carolina, with the Moon aligning in front of the golden Sun, blocking Sol’s light. Though it ends in Brazil, an eclipse like this has not been through the middle of the US since 1918. The next one similar is in 2024, which will start in Mexico and end in Canada. This Eclipse is therefore a rare moment in time for the western world.

During the time of a total Eclipse of the Sun (check www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/ for your time zone): in this case for 2 whole minutes darkness descends upon daylight for senses to be heightened and psychic subtle energy enhanced, all of which is especially powerful while Sun and Moon conjoin at the majestic Sun-ruled heart of the Leo Lion, accenting the power of love and the dignified strength, courage, and kindness of a tender, open heart.

All-the-while the sky darkens other planets will also be seen flanking the Sun: Venus and Mars (on the right), and Jupiter on Sun’s left. Eagle eyes may even spot the currently retrograde Mercury, and perhaps most importantly alongside Fixed Royal Star, Regulus pinpointing the exact heart of the Lion, (giving rise to the predictions about the demise of certain leaders in prominent positions; and needing to be aware how an eclipse on this star, since the ancient Babylonians, has indicated the fall of those whose motivation is questionable).

Although fiery Leo is a self-orientated sign, it is also generous, playful and artistic. Even in difficult situations Leo will shine when connecting to the creative flow. There’s no doubt this will be (a collective) Solar Eclipse to remember in this transformational year of the Phoenix Fire Bird Fire Trine, in which the blazing Leo Sun and Moon now star (with retro Uranus in Aries & retro Saturn in Sagittarius). There are six planets in retrograde at the moment (yes, 6!) indicating a time of major reflection. So wherever you are, if at all possible stop what you are doing for those two precious minutes and take time to appreciate and meditate upon the innate power of love and raise the planetary vibration out of fear into that of love. Intention is all.

Make yourself comfortable and take the time to appreciate nature and breathe in the potency of a natural PEACE into your centre, then exhale LOVE directing it out into the world to filter through the unseen and create a veritable force field of goodness and light.

The outside world may go dark, but from inside us all shines a golden treasure, a preious jewel that is pure homespun gold radiating from within.

This innate and intuitive inner-light will always guide us – all we have to do is to tune in…

ॐ_/|_ ॐ_/\_ॐ_/\_ .........

....to end on a practical note, please do not under any circumstance look at the Sun without eclipse glasses until totality, when you take them off, but remember to put them back on as totality comes to a close!

Prayers also for clear skies for beloved American family and friends.

With ℒℴѵℯ & Light ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸
Wishing One & All an enlightening Leo Solar Eclipse

18°53′ Full Moon in Sagittarius
9th June @13:09UT, 2017

Functioning as our emotional radar, the June Full Moon, a.k.a. the ‘Bright Love Moon’ or ‘Honey Moon’, is an intuitive Full Moon that heightens senses and accents a dynamic and passionate heart. What naturally comes into focus during this three-night Full Moon could easily stimulate thoughts and feelings which ultimately appertain to brighter prospects in all relationships, with partners and lovers, brothers, sisters and authority, nature and humanity.

🔯 Dominating in varying degrees of intensity over the course over this Full Moon is a beautifully auspicious 6-pointed Yang Star formation, involving elements Air and Fire, interlocking with a ‘Grand Air Trine’ and the Fire Bird year’s ‘Grand Fire Trine’. Triangles in the horoscope, as regular readers will know, demand personal interaction to get the most out of any cosmic brilliance on offer. This double tetrahedron shining Yang-Star proposes a unifying and spiritually enhancing Full Moon; one that has the potential to educates us all to think creatively and help overcome concerns about taking risks that appertain to spiritual growth and understanding.

🔯 There is a celestial catch to easily tuning into a 6-pointed Star ascension, with potentially twinkling chakras sparkling the radiant clear ascension of Shakti-power, as La Luna conjoins Saturn, Karmic Taskmaster extraordinaire to reveal deeply ingrained limitations. Emotional and personal, perceived or real, obstacles seem to come with a long history, or may not even originate entirely from recent actions, originating instead from a past (life) source.
Together Moon and Saturn present an immediately felt reality; however hard truth may be to digest, wisdom is often only gained through challenging circumstance and facing fears head-on. And therein is the major focus of this Full Moon report, because it’s a changeable and fiery Full Moon in zealous Sagittarius, conjunct the Time Lord Saturn (only recently emerged from a tussle with an out-of-bounds, reckless upstart, Mars).

The Moon and Saturn jointly become the tail of our high-flying Fire-Air Yang-Star, also in Kite formation; as the Air Element fans the winds to ignite the flames of passion, reminding us how together we can fly our dreams to form a starry, heart-centred future. Though, because it’s Saturn on our tail, those with less conviction, blinded by dangerous propaganda could be cowed by fear or doubt. Successful outcomes depend upon the amount of personal concern one invests in looking forward with optimism, embracing new skills to stretch the mind – and the imagination.

Individual responsibility – even about collective issues – always takes on a deeply karmic resonance whenever the Moon is with fatalistic Saturn. While this combo sounds like heavy weather – especially on a karma multiplied day, as Saturn concentrates the receptive (public) responsibility and sympathy of the Moon; it can seem stormy and depressing to some. But this is also a planetary pattern that indicates how we have reached an information/knowledge threshold. From this crossing point we can pass into a world of greater illumination – on SakaDawa - and implement into everyday life a practical kind of wisdom. To reinterate: as long as one is personally prepared to work with and see each other as brothers and sisters on planet Earth, no matter what creed, colour or sex, then being in diverse communities with those from different cultures and beliefs, and with tolerance of ‘the other’, we are more easily able to maintain the open heartmind – which is essential to embrace the evolutionary sacred space of the 6-pointed star.

Though it has to be said that the Moon and Saturn combination, in its more workaday sense, can solidify and give form; but again, only with greater effect with personal involvement. Check 17-27 degrees Sagittarius in your own chart to see where Saturn and the Moon illuminate real and concrete issues, so that you/we really know what we are up against. Remember patience is called for. Sometimes pain, problems, uphill struggles can appear so daunting they seem insurmountable. But don’t worry: this is a mutable Full Moon that determines change is our only constant – and timing is, of course, key to understanding change – and karma – which is where astrology excels.

Being the Lord of Karma, Saturn, is often depicted as an old man with a long grey beard, holding a scythe, indicating the cutting down of what was once flourishing. In the reaping, lines get drawn in the earth (could we see more interesting crop circles?!), while boundary-defining Saturn emphasizes the working aspects of farms, finances, public buildings, governments, and the elderly. And with the Moon, Saturn also highlights personal wisdom through harmonising (feminine) experience; in Sagittarius there is also philosophy, academia, in-laws and order to consider.

Rather telling about this Full Moon is how the Gemini Sun is joined by a planetoid, Ceres: the Great Earth Mother. So on one side of the zodiac we see the karmic (Grim) reaper shining with the emotive Moon; and on the other, Mother Goddess of grain, growth and grieving, under the hot Sun’s beams.
Sun’s Gemini Twins and Ceres are also conjunct a Fixed Star, ‘Rigel’, which is a wonderfully bright star that accents wealth through knowledge and education. Rigel marks the Hunter Orion’s left foot that touches Eridanus, the ‘River of Life’ (and the path of the Sun’s passage across the ecliptic); and is a star that denotes being in the flow, nourished by water’s wealth and riches. Mythology tells of the Hunter, in killing all Earths’ beasts he oversteps the mark; and how the Great Goddess sent a scorpion to fatally sting Orion to stop him. Not being cautious, or going ahead while weak, is an important message to take on board, especially for battered cowboys that ride the edge of town looking to party.

While Sun and Ceres do not contact Scorpio in this Full Moon horoscope, Sun does form a quincunx (the 150° awkwardly adjusting push-me-pull-you aspect), to Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler currently in Capricorn (and yet to have third Jupiter-Pluto Square August 4th); all the while Moon throws a connecting semi-sextile that links the wilds of Sagittarius to conservative Capricorn (which rules Saturn); there’s a minor temptation to thrive on the psychological-tensions that surround the never-ending cycle life-death and rebirth.
Synthesising all this suggests we need to inform and educate, and create healthy limits around negative influences that pollute the mind. Rigel’s position also gives a love of action and great success when we learn our lessons: to be life-supporting by nurturing mind, body and soul, to be life-sustaining, not life-defeating. This then, is a Full Moon to really take on board karmic Saturn’s maxim ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’.

Though a mercurial Gemini Sun is generally restless and moves in double-quick time (and along with it the pace of brotherly love, as well as gossip, global news and information), Luna next to Saturn urges us to disseminate slowly, taking time to look with a longer-view at what is already growing, as well as that which can be grown. Be aware how rushing headlong over hurdles could only slow one down this June 8-9-10th. To avoid depleting nerves – and develop resilience – best be comfortable while assessing complications or hindrances; travelling for work could also be slow.

Another astrologically major factor to consider when observing this visionary Full Moon conjunct a retrograde Saturn, is that they are both bang-on the Galactic Centre, accenting the gravity of a massive black hole around which our entire galaxy spins. The Sagittarian Archer’s arrow now points towards a very specific galactic opening. A Centaur tends to THINK BIG at the best of times; and performing actions for the greater good of the whole could open doors and create opportunities that help stay on course when holding the light, and could possibly even explain phobias of being mysteriously pulled into the unknown.
Ultimately, the planets in mutable signs, Gemini & Sagittarius, are also in a tight T-Square to illusive Neptune/Chiron in Pisces, teaching that nothing lasts forever and everything is subject to change. So while the Sun is in Gemini we may want to seek out myriad distractions that promise, albeit temporarily alleviation from tacking whatever is it that bugs or prevents from accomplishing ambitions, even going so deep to admit that any impediment could well be linked to the shallowness of our understanding.

Maturity is required to move ahead freely into the spaces in between (thoughts, places, people) that which you think hold you back. Luckily both ‘Lights’, Sun & Moon (and therefore Earth Goddess and Grim Reaper) are also in the good, triangle aspect with expansive, freedom-loving Jupiter. Jupiter is also extremely potent right now (activating Libra & Aries and situations from April, when Venus retrograde the opposite degree) . After four and half months of retrograde motion, Jupiter is at station to go forward at 13° in relationship-orientated, peace-loving Libra on the third night of the Full Moon. Lawful contracts can be signed, finances balanced, fashion shows and partnership issues harmonised.

🔯 Lastly, this is also a ‘Mini Moon’ in as much as it will look much smaller than usual, but it still holds potent qualities to impart creativity and idealism. As both the virile Sun and confident Jupiter will be in applying (strong) mode to the destiny-fulfilling Aquarian South Node, invigorating the intellectual Grand Air Trine for a week, we become innately aware of the need for balance and clarity in all social dealings. So that when the unifying Grand Air Trine fuses with the spiritually enhancing Grand Fire Trine, between Saturn, Uranus and the North Node, we can learn to glow from the inside out (see Full Moon reports for April & May for details). Within the natural warmth that arises when Air and Fire mingle, all our relationships can become mutually meaningful.
