✶ Dakini Day Lama Tsong Khapa Day Dec '18

✶☽ 2nd Dec ~> The last Dakini Day of 2018 comes before a New Sagittarius Moon on the 7th December, three weeks before Solstice and the longest night/day of the year (depending upon which hemisphere you are in). This dark moon, before Spirit Sun changes emphasis of Light on the 21st Dec, therefore compounds any need for rest, reflection and recuperation. Turning YINward for the next five days allows the feminine Yin's soulful cool earthy darkness to grow the more gentle qualities of wisdom, fairness and compassion.

✶☽As a glorious sky-dancing Goddess generously awakens loving kindness within every heartmind, the waning Moon in peaceful and social Libra harmoniously activates Spirit Sun in convivial and scholarly Sagittarius, for the Lights to concentrate the ‘higher mind’ to find emotional and spiritual balance through philosophy, culture and beauty. When the Dakini Moon is in airy Libra, partnerships get an ethical reset: hardened principles that make it difficult to relate can soften with an appreciation of what others may be going through. With a bright rational, this Dakini Goddess is civilised, always aware of the plight of others – especially with those she shares her life. This Moon is also conjunct Pallas Athena, accenting a powerful feminine warrior woman.
Before setting the intention with a New Sagittarius Moon, Sun AND Jupiter on the 7th, note forward moving Mercury can help to hone into certain subjects and sharpen one’s INsight.  Also worth bearing in mind is how Sun and New Moon will conjunct a part of the sky called the ‘Great Attractor’: be aware that intentions set at this New Moon can greatly magnetise.

✶☽Today is also an important day in our Tibetan Buddhist calendar: not only it is DAKINI day, with Sun and Moon in the last 'harmonious' aspect of a waning lunation, accenting the Sagittarian Guru wisdom because it is also Lama Tzongkhapa day, honouring the 14th Century founder of the Galugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism, to which both His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, and my late Lama, Venerable Lama Kirti Tsenshab Rinpoche belong.

And it’s also Hannuka – a festival of Light for Jewish friends! :))
πŸ™πŸŒ
This is certainly a wonderful time to go easy on oneself – and others – to socialise and be with friends, and to reflect upon this passing year whilst contemplating future plans in the upcoming year of the Earth Pig.
Wishing everyone a very happy Lama Tsong Khapa Dakini Day!

✰··☾☼☽··✰·New Sagittarius Moon Tuesday 29th November

✰Today’s New Sagittarius Moon starts the third lunation in a row culminating in a Full SuperMoon, on the 14th December. Supermoons appear to be eventful times of major shifts, in consciousness as well as geophysical. Whatever we are reflecting upon now, as a collective or individually, it appears to be huge. Aside from the Sagittarian inclination to exaggerate ;) a Sagittarian Sun signals a time to be more open-minded and optimistic about the future, philosophical about life’s twists and turns, all the while keeping to a personal high moral stance. ‘Post-Truth’ is an anathema to the upright Sagittarian Archer. Holding truth and freedom in high regard, Sagittarius is the sign of law courts, as well academia and, perhaps more telling, our public relationship to an even higher ethical agent, variously called God, Goddess, Krishna, Buddha, Christ, Allah, Great Spirit, Nature, the Universe, as great omniscient cosmic consciousness ... 'the void'. Sagittarius connects us to the bigger picture.

✰ With both ‘Lights’ (Sun & Moon) now in a wide conjunction to Saturn (also in the sign of the centaur), the importance of this moment in time has a karmic quality, as well as the potential to reveal wisdom and generosity – and fear, especially a fear for the post-factual future. Saturn’s focus is upon fears that lead to greater understanding. With little time for ‘the bamboozle factor’, Saturn now helps to determine what is real and what is imagined.

✰ Several other factors must also be taken into astral account during this last Fire sign lunation in the Fire Monkey year: 1) as Sun and Moon are also at a delicate point in their orbit known as ‘The Bends’, i.e. Spirit Sun and Soul Moon are in direct square to the Moon’s destiny-shaping Nodes. Any planet can be found at the bends in their orbit around the Sun; in Sagittarius it can add poignant sensitivity to a usually rational mind. 2) Only the position of the Sun at this angle is called a ‘Moon Wobble’, indicating events and choices made now can trigger emotional instability (so hang onto judicious reason as best you can). 3) Sun and Moon join forces with one of the most powerful fixed stars: Antares, a red star that rivals Mars, otherwise known as ‘The Heart of the Scorpion’, indicating all kinds of martial passion and intensity. This Fixed Star also suggests danger, ruin and sudden loss, should one succumb to corruption jealousy or obsession.

✰ All in all, it appears we are traversing a time of intense transformation; be the change within our own lives, with friends, in-laws or authority, or even politically, with impact upon the planet and environment, what is clear within the current astrological climate is how important it is that we go with the flow of the ‘higher mind’, all-the-while maintaining personal integrity, faith and optimism that good will out, and that the ignorance using force or fear to control will be curtailed. Events around the 9-10th December could prove challenging in the run-up to the Full Gemini SuperMoon.

New View ~> New Moon 0ΒΊ Sagittarius @ 12:32gmt

The Sun moves into Sagittarius today, Saturday, with a New Moon in the sign of the centaur, advocating we make the most of the creative spark during this last fire sign month in the year of the Wood Horse. Sun and Moon are with Goddess Venus, helping to raise the cosmic love vibration and general back-slapping bonhomie. But be aware how ‘The Lights’ are also conjunct prudent Saturn, suggesting a cautious kind of optimism is called for, also that we need to cultivate tact, patience and tolerance, especially when dealing with long-term travel plans, business expansion and religious differences.

The Archer encourages positive progress, urging one to open the mind, think big and aim high. Saturn is soon to enter this philosophical sign: from the end of December, and for the next couple of years, the spheres which are increasingly important to grow general overall happiness are through faith and hope and, perhaps most importantly, by being kind and willing to understand those who don’t appear to have the same beliefs as us. In the words of His Holiness, Dalai Lama "In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher." Its worth bearing in mind how the enemy needn't be external, but internal with our faults and delusions.

Ultimately, Sagittarius teaches us that we inhabit a big wide world, full of wonder and joy; and it is our experience within this sphere that gives life its most profound and perceptive meaning. _/\_

☄ Sun & Moon in Sagittarius 2nd/3rd Dec ☼ ☄☽♐ 2013

The New Moon in the sign of the Archer sets sights firmly upon success. The target or honours being sought may be of the material world, or spiritual acumen and/or the revelation of truth and freedom. No matter how big or small our ambitions, this adventurous, forward-looking Sagittarius New Moon at 00:22UT (19:22EST) provides strength to keep spirits high and hold course with any insight we may have when envisioning the future, as though the sky is the limit. But bear in mind that when fiery SoL and Luna are at this particular 10 degrees Sagittarius it also heighten the risk factor when aiming high, so it’s good to keep morals intact and issues/ambitions/relations in perspective, as 'The Lights’ now conjunct a Royal Star, Antares. Be aware that while this star blazes brightly, there’s a shadowy martial side when hurried enthusiasm or reckless ruthlessness has the potential to lose all in what ostensibly may still only be a game of chance.

Being inspired at the start of this lunation means it easier to seek out alternatives, and make the most of opportunities with dramatic, non-conformist changes in the first half of the cycle, with a waxing Moon, which takes us up to the 17th December Full Moon in Gemini - a magical Moon that opens a heavenly portal straight to the centre of the Galaxy. After which, Love Goddess Venus retreats and encourages a fondness of tradition (and whatever we are working on) by going retrograde at Solstice, making it a cosy Yule with a surprising Xmas twist that could grip us all the way to New Year’s Eve, when a SuperMoon kickstarts 2014.

Of course, from the Buddhist point of view there is no time like the present. Past and future are only concepts, so all we really have is the power of now, as the light-radiating gateway to spiritual awakening. And so it is in the afterglow of ISON's cosmic dust that the brilliant and wise Sagittarius Sun invites us to now shine-on and discover that single-point-in-times' liberating experience. _/♥\_ ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸✶

☄ _/♥\_ Dark Moon in Scorpio - Dec1st ♏ ♄ ☽ ☿ ☄ ☉ ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸✶

Dark Moon in Scorpio with ISON, Mercury & Saturn - Dec 1st '13
_/♥\_ ♏ ♄ ☽ ☿ ☄ ☉ ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸✶

Dark moons are just as much times for sowing the seed as they are for releasing and letting go of old issues and sticky problems - sending them back to void. Because this particular balsamic Moon is conjunct the planet of the mind, Mercury, and karmic Saturn, the planet of limitation and endings, there’s a sense of finality to certain difficult issues (which could have been around for years). And as this weekend’s dark Scorpionic moon phase could trigger profound feelings - fear, loss, hopelessness - bear in mind how even these emotions can now serve as the means for dramatic alchemical transformation, from base ordinary things/ideas/relationship into treasured golden enlightenment.

It’s also worth noting that informative Mercury, disciplined Saturn, and the sensitive Moon are with Comet ISON! Though much is now hidden with the dark Moon, if there is ever a story of life, death and regeneration, it is Comet ISON. Pronounced dead and gone after its perihelion sungraze, ISON reappeared and perhaps may even able to grow its glowing tail once again – we just don’t know yet, as it has still yet to come into view, which it could well do again after the forward-moving New Moon in Sagittarius Dec 2nd/3rd. Though on December 1st, early bird sky dancers will catch the last slither of the Moon, with Mercury & Saturn in the pre-dawn sky – and possibly the comet. This combination of planets and comet is actually an extremely sobering stellium that once again determines the importance of understanding the nature of reality, in order to combat debilitating fears and doubts: that all is ultimately pure love and bliss.

Comets always bring unknown factors from deep space into play. And, in ISON’s case, coming from beyond magical mystical Neptune, its dynamic transformational energy affects us all. Generally speaking comets are not considered to be good omens, as they excite and heat disordered conditions. However, ISON – in whatever state it is in, is still under Sun’s beams, in the ‘crossover’sign between Scorpio & Sagittarius sometimes called the 13th sign, Ophiuchus. This part of the sky is attributed to the teacher of Hippocrates, the healer ‘Asklepius’ who is holding a snake; his staff the symbol of modern medicine.

ISON’s passage becomes doubly symbolic during the year of the Black Water Snake. In Tibetan Buddhism, the snake depicted in the wheel of life is symbolic of hatred, the root emotion to violence and war, when the way of peace is by transforming that angry emotion into compassion for all beings. Remembering also that the third week after enlightenment, Lord Buddha (whose rebirth we recently commemorated, at LhaBab DuChen, only a week ago) was sheltered by the coiled snake energy (Kundalini) of the seven headed snake (in line with seven chakras). Thus, to my mind, the symbology of a Dark Moon touching the tail of Asclepius’ Snake, aligned with the healing brother Mercury, earthy Saturn & ISON, it suggests the importance of global healing, activating Kundalini Earth energy, transforming consciousness and raising the Diving feminine Shakti power to the max.

And December's Venus retrograde dance at Solstice will again teach the importance of Five-Star LOVE ☆☆☆☆☆

Image is of Vajrayogini, the Goddess for degenerate times, as she is the manifestation of ultimate wisdom and compassion, aiding in the transformation of mundane experience into higher levels of spiritual understanding.
