☾ ● ◯ Full Harvest Supermoon Lunar Eclipse in Blood Red Aries ◯ ● ♡

☾ ● ◯ The most dramatic Full Moon in this year of the Wood Goat takes place Sunday night – Monday morning (depending upon where you are the world (see comments to check time zones)), 27th-28th September, with a Full Harvest Supermoon Lunar Eclipse. The last similar supermoon was 33 years ago and there won’t be another like it for 18 years!

With ‘The Lights’ along the 'me-we' Libra-Aries axis at 4 degrees, this 4th blood red Moon is an Aries Supermoon stimulating those born around either equinox (Spring or Autumn) to focus upon balancing the needs of self with those of others maybe more than the rest of us, who are also being asked to consider the benefits of being true to our autonomous authentic self, as opposed to the adaptive self that often relies upon all kinds of outside dictatorial influences that can compromise morality, beliefs and truth.

☾ ● ◯ While co-operation with others is essential in this world of 7 billion human beings, and our happiness essentially depends upon how we treat others; agreements made during this Full Moon must include beauty, joy, and hefty whack of personal independence to feel free and self-directed, without harming others.

☯☆☯ In Tibetan Buddhism our authentic presence is called ‘Wangthang’, which also means ‘the field of power’ which permeates and surrounds the body within and around the electromagnetic aura; this is strengthened to protect and magnetise by the merit and goodness we consciously create.
In Tibetan astrology, the Wangthang is associated with the element of the year, i.e. in this particular year of the Green Wood Goat, the element Wood, which relates to Air, is where we find our collective (and personal) power and the ability to spiritually ascend. With Spirit Sun now in Libra, Air and Wood are highlighting the capacity to find spacious balance in growth, egoless command with practiced calm, and generosity without dominating fixity. Air of course is also associated with breath and balance, so calm abiding meditation (Shamatha or Shiney) is highly recommended for the duration of this eclipse – and beyond!

☾ ● ◯ And as the retrograde Mercury is also next to Sun during this Full Harvest Supermoon Lunar Eclipse, the heart-mind can only benefit by taking the opportunity during this powerful space-time portal to release all self-cherishing clinging to ego attachment, and imbibe the light of the Sun, welcoming the ability to be genuine and true to the heart-mind and the love-light within.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” ♡ Helen Keller

ps: If you’d like to give yourself a marker in time as to how one changes and grows happiness, light and self-development, another Equinox Full Moon in March 2016, in six months’ time is a good place to aim for and see how you are… Meanwhile, if you’d like an astrological reading to help navigate the heavens and to develop and grow your own Wangthang, please contact me, Laura, here for rates and exchange. _/\_

⊚ Lunar Eclipse in Libra ~> April 4th 2015

Karma Multiplied Day x 100,000
☽★☼ In this year of the Green Yin Wood Goat/Sheep, it is the season of spring, of natural new growth and stability, that has extra emphasis due to the Wood element’s association to spring (each element has a seasonal propensity). Any helpful new shoots now in evidence (be they metaphorical) should be positively encouraged. Summer will be good for the Sheep wending peaceful progression too, but as the essence of Wood is likened to Western astrology’s Air element, the astral influence is a windy spring. Solar winds are also currently streaming in from the Sun, charging up Earth’s atmosphere with what might even be called solar vayu, the prana of consciousness: a magical and nourishing wind air. Meditators and the inherently sensitive may now even sense the winds of change blowing in some surprising breakthroughs, especially so with a full Blood Moon Lunar eclipse on the rise.

☽★☼ The element of Air is brought further into focus because the equinox Full Moon is in Libra (exact 13:05gmt). Libra is a leading Air sign, social and friendly, seeking peace and beauty in all relationships. And in opposition to the speedy and fearless (i.e. headstrong and impatient!) Arian Spiritual Warrior that could push for faster transmutation, the balanced Libran influence has the equipoise and potential to harmonise relationships a self-cherishing ego has with all kinds of significant other(s). This, then, is a Full Moon to align the me-we axis, so that both party's needs and ambitions are met.

☽★☼ During this kind of eclipse a practiced yogi may also be aware of the internal winds; the vayu which course through the body. As Yoga Tantra teaches, winds which carry the prana throughout the body can, at the time of an eclipse, relax celestially related channels: so much so the tantrika can release (karmic) knots, so the heart-mind can be truly transformed and liberated to freely practice loving kindness. Yet while this kind of high-level meditation takes years if not lifetimes of practice and guidance, we mere baby Bodhisattvas may also feel some kind of (collective) shift awakening the senses to bliss and beauty, wisdom and compassion.

☼ Saka Dawa Guru Rinpoche Day ~> breathing the Love-Light

June 8th
☼ ♊ ~ △ ~ ☾ ♎
Staying on center, taking care of self (and family), and finding the balance within makes it easier to deal with tricky encounters. With Sun in quicksilver Gemini stimulating the mind, and the reflective Moon in harmonious Libra, ‘The Lights’ now illuminate the intellectual Air element, suggesting it’s time to skilfully influence and balance our thoughts. One of the fastest ways to harness the constantly moving mind is through breathing, as the ancient teachings tell us 'breath is mind's vehicle to Spirit'. Consciously working with the breath soothes the heart-mind to restrain negative emotions, as well as maintaining internal harmony by clearing emotional or psychic knots within the subtle body.

With the Moon next to Mars fiery emotions can quickly rise – and exhaust. While it’s true passion can energize, anger depletes positive karma in one fell swoop. Struggling with aggression or other negative emotions which eat into the bank of karmic merit is unnecessary when you can positively motivate and energize by taking two minutes out of the day to concentrate upon breathing: Doing so quickly calms and controls the chattering monkey mind, increases vitality and focus, and generates an inner peace that relaxes both mind AND body. And it’s so easy to instantly tune into the natural conscious intelligence that surrounds us and imbibe ‘prana’, the universal holy life force of ‘Air’ ~> Go now, find a comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed for a few minutes: Breathe in for the count of 5, hold for 5 and exhale for 5…

…and note how much more in your flow you can become.

In the approach to the Karma-Multiplied Full Sagittarius, wisdom-seeking Moon, today (Sunday) is also the day in my spiritual tradition that we honor the holy Lama (within), who is laden with good qualities.

With courageous Mars next to the Moon also suggests we can bravely acknowledge how to manage our lives to live in peace and harmony, specifically by walking the Dharma path, putting the Buddha’s teachings into practice. __/\__
