☽☼☾ Karmic Consolidation ☽☼☾ Full HoneyMoon with Saturn ~June '18

☽☼☾ Karmic Consolidation ☽☼☾

Full Honey Moon 6°54’ Capricorn 28th June 2018 @4:53UT
As the season turns with this Solstice Honey Moon, cast your mind back to those NY resolutions you made to yourself? With the six-month marker you thought you would use to measure to see how you were doing? Well. Here we are. And reassessing the important things in life is most timely, if not a necessity.

Be it home, career, or the relationship and respect we have for (our own personal, family) authority, this Full June Moon will highlight both, the material and spiritual work, ahead and already done – with a welcome pause now, to rest in the present, Solstice-influenced Full Capricorn Moon and just ‘be in the now'. Because it is only in this present moment that we can have any affect upon future karma (and forgive, let go and release the past), it makes sense to find our balance and stay on centre.

…Though the astrological aspects are diverse in this Full Moon chart, with a dominating ‘Grand Water Trine’, a ‘Cardinal ‘T’-Square’, and the beginnings of the rest of the years’ ‘Fixed Cross’; there are several key celestial points to which one can co-create with universe and apply to whatever is going on now, as well as aforementioned resolutions and long-term plans that will get a reboot. This is due to the lingering nature of the planets currently in retrograde: martial Mars, authoritative Saturn and powerhouse Pluto will be going backwards throughout the north’s summer/south’s winter, forcing one to reconsider a certain course of action that regenerate and renew; all the while expansive Jupiter creates optimism with forward motion July 10th; and Mercury goes retro just before July’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, to zap up the drama! But first let’s look at the Luminaries (Sun & Moon) during the Year of the Earth Dog’s ‘Honey Moon’

1)  ☆ The horoscope of this Full Capricorn Moon opposite Spirit Sun, radiating in the super-sensitive sign Cancer (the Moon’s ruler) initially appears subdued. It shows a detrimental Luna in the ambitious sign of the Sea Goat (not her favourite position by any means), conjunct Time Lord Saturn, planet of accomplishment and long-established business and empires only compounds the seriousness surrounding this Full Moon. Saturn is now retrograde in home sign Capricorn; by September it will have retreated all the way back to revisit the same place it was at the beginning of 2018. Potentially, this means another three months of seriously motivated work, forming and reforming, working and reworking whatever we consider important in the greater scheme to give certain ideas, relationships and projects, a real and solid base. Backwards and slow moving, although Saturn is glowing golden in the midnight sky, the current position suggests revising and amending particular issues that initially arose at the beginning the year. Where these early degrees of Capricorn (4-8°) lie in your own horoscope will give you a reality check on the astral rework currently in effect. Capricorn’s practical and empirical influence is durable and strong, if somewhat heavy and humourless. Together, however, and despite an irony bypass, a Full Capricorn Moon and Saturn can actually indicate a powerful emotional development.

When the Sun spotlights karmic Saturn and the sensitive Moon, it normally indicates the need to overcome daunt and dread; and all kinds of doubts, fears and obstacles can come to light. As tough as this may seem, it’s good to acknowledge any limitations and emotional blocks we have to face for personal evolution (time, money, support, talent and luck, are all areas which could need to be considered). Still, this is not the time to shirk personal responsibility, shrink into the shadows, or succumb to battle fatigue. On the contrary, it’s time to provide solid foundations, and show how we care about those with whom we live and work, those whom we share our most challenging karmic path: our families, colleagues and cohorts.

While you might feel a little like Bambi going head-to-head with Godzilla*, this Full Moon conjunct Saturn encourages practical solutions to successful personal accomplishment – all of which takes time, planning, patience, and a lot of hands-on hard work, from which there is no escape.

This is a combination that also symbolises heavy weather, as traditional Saturn concentrates the receptive sympathy of the Moon. Where we are may seem dull or depressing, or even oppressive to some. If so, take time out for a breather, as this is a planetary pattern that indicates climbing the metaphoric mountains and we have now reached a threshold, a pass which needs to be crossed carefully, and with reason.

In mundane astrology, which is the astrological study of the geo-socio-political, the family-orientated Moon represents ‘The People’, whilst taskmaster Saturn is the commanding voice of authority. Interestingly, career advice or family guidance could come from a place with even greater superiority, as the Sun is with fixed star ‘Mirzam’ at the Full Moon. Speaking out to proclaim an extremely important message is the astrological signature of Mirzam, one of the stars of Canis Major: the heaven’s large and barking dog. Who knows what we will hear, or from where, but keep your ears open: ‘an announcement’ with impact is due.

☆ Getting one’s needs met on a basic and practical level is mega important when the Moon is with down-to-earth Saturn. With a multiple of tricky aspects to negotiate, make an effort to keep things simple to stay on centre and in your flow (I know: easier said than done in this world full of distraction.). Complications could suddenly arise with the feeling that one is missing out, or lacking support from those who have the means to provide patronage. Be aware the real you is loving, clear and kind, not the nagging critic.

Okay, a rut may be before you. And you may have already measured the state of the mud therein. But in the perceived fear of losing security, ask yourself if you really need to be stuck and hemmed-in from all sides’ It may be helpful to know that in the run-up and during the Full Moon, both Cancer Sun and Capricorn Moon/Saturn make easy and harmonious links to unconventional Uranus in stabilising Taurus, presenting accessible alternatives to the way we live, eat and work, which can liberate and free up the mind – as well as the wallet. By accepting personal responsibility and acting for the greater good in any current circumstance we can also gain a sense of freedom and the potential for personal creativity comes to the fore.

Astrological aspects that take place immediately preceding culmination are actually the most potent: so get to know taskmaster Saturn’s rules well, in order to break them more easily. Being told one must take personal responsibility for difficult situations (in which you are blameless) can sometimes seem like one is yet again faced with another obstacle. But karma works in mysterious ways, and it pays to be kind and compassionate.
Indeed, old alliances are breaking-up and, in the name of consolidation, those who dictate authority (and who can therefore make a difference) could even abnegate upon a whim any previous obligation to protect and preserve. As this year progresses new social systems will become ever more apparent. Whether these are any better than what we have now remains to be seen. Looking ahead to the long-term, by the end of 2020 we may need to call in professionals to bring about a more helpful change.

2) ☆ Right now, however, Sol creates the axis opposite the Moon and Saturn to also form a ‘Cardinal T-Square’ with Shamanic Chiron and healing asteroid Hygea, united at the 90° right angle in Aries. This is an active and dynamic T-Square, accenting the wisdom of looking after our health, and to discover how happiness comes from within, especially during times of powerful healing.

3) ☆ The major celestial maker for this Full Moon is, however, a deeply sensitive ‘Grand Water Trine’. This triangle with three points 120° apart includes the Cancer Sun, in the same sign as the heavenly courier, Mercury, and Pallas Athena, warrior Goddess – a union to nurture and cleanse, and one with plans to sustain the psychic powers of Jupiter in Scorpio, plus the visionary blessing and initiation into the Divine which comes about with Neptune in Pisces.

The ‘Grand Water Trine’ can easily influence great swathes of people, often through deception and seemingly psychic forces. But with the Moon conjunct Saturn, one should learn to erect invisible protection.
From the spiritual point of view, the Water Trine can also activate the seventh ray, the crown chakra associated with the awakened state of awareness: i.e. enlightenment. Through the purifying power of water, the physical body can awaken the compassion and kindness of a heart and mind aligned with the ‘higher self’.  This ‘Water Trine’ will vary in intensity for the next month to avail us with life’s mysteries.

4)  ☆ Immediately following the moment of a Full Moon, Luna begins to wane. During the wind-down of this lunation we begin to enter into ‘Eclipse Season’ with a new Cancer ruled New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 13th July. Eclipses bring about geophysical shifts, as well as the more personal emotional turning points. These changes can take place a week or so before the eclipse, so be aware that all kinds of energies can filter through an eclipse portal.

5) ☆ Which brings me to the last point of astral note, and yet another indication how this Full Moon has associations with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in January, as the now retrograde Aquarian Mars conjuncts the South Node with orb of the eclipse degrees, i.e. incoming cosmic influences are forceful in the message of renewal. Mars only goes retrograde every 2-and-abit years; Mars retro in Aquarius is even rarer. The last time heroic Mars went retrograde in Aquarius was July 1971, the next is well into the 22nd century. So this is a rare moment when the brave Mars retrogrades to tap into eclipse season; dealing with past karma will need to be tempered with an altruism that looks after all beings, from people to dolphins to ants to apes. Heaven knows, we all could all now do with revising how we all come together as a unit, to show our collective humanity and healing.

18°53′ Full Moon in Sagittarius
9th June @13:09UT, 2017

Functioning as our emotional radar, the June Full Moon, a.k.a. the ‘Bright Love Moon’ or ‘Honey Moon’, is an intuitive Full Moon that heightens senses and accents a dynamic and passionate heart. What naturally comes into focus during this three-night Full Moon could easily stimulate thoughts and feelings which ultimately appertain to brighter prospects in all relationships, with partners and lovers, brothers, sisters and authority, nature and humanity.

🔯 Dominating in varying degrees of intensity over the course over this Full Moon is a beautifully auspicious 6-pointed Yang Star formation, involving elements Air and Fire, interlocking with a ‘Grand Air Trine’ and the Fire Bird year’s ‘Grand Fire Trine’. Triangles in the horoscope, as regular readers will know, demand personal interaction to get the most out of any cosmic brilliance on offer. This double tetrahedron shining Yang-Star proposes a unifying and spiritually enhancing Full Moon; one that has the potential to educates us all to think creatively and help overcome concerns about taking risks that appertain to spiritual growth and understanding.

🔯 There is a celestial catch to easily tuning into a 6-pointed Star ascension, with potentially twinkling chakras sparkling the radiant clear ascension of Shakti-power, as La Luna conjoins Saturn, Karmic Taskmaster extraordinaire to reveal deeply ingrained limitations. Emotional and personal, perceived or real, obstacles seem to come with a long history, or may not even originate entirely from recent actions, originating instead from a past (life) source.
Together Moon and Saturn present an immediately felt reality; however hard truth may be to digest, wisdom is often only gained through challenging circumstance and facing fears head-on. And therein is the major focus of this Full Moon report, because it’s a changeable and fiery Full Moon in zealous Sagittarius, conjunct the Time Lord Saturn (only recently emerged from a tussle with an out-of-bounds, reckless upstart, Mars).

The Moon and Saturn jointly become the tail of our high-flying Fire-Air Yang-Star, also in Kite formation; as the Air Element fans the winds to ignite the flames of passion, reminding us how together we can fly our dreams to form a starry, heart-centred future. Though, because it’s Saturn on our tail, those with less conviction, blinded by dangerous propaganda could be cowed by fear or doubt. Successful outcomes depend upon the amount of personal concern one invests in looking forward with optimism, embracing new skills to stretch the mind – and the imagination.

Individual responsibility – even about collective issues – always takes on a deeply karmic resonance whenever the Moon is with fatalistic Saturn. While this combo sounds like heavy weather – especially on a karma multiplied day, as Saturn concentrates the receptive (public) responsibility and sympathy of the Moon; it can seem stormy and depressing to some. But this is also a planetary pattern that indicates how we have reached an information/knowledge threshold. From this crossing point we can pass into a world of greater illumination – on SakaDawa - and implement into everyday life a practical kind of wisdom. To reinterate: as long as one is personally prepared to work with and see each other as brothers and sisters on planet Earth, no matter what creed, colour or sex, then being in diverse communities with those from different cultures and beliefs, and with tolerance of ‘the other’, we are more easily able to maintain the open heartmind – which is essential to embrace the evolutionary sacred space of the 6-pointed star.

Though it has to be said that the Moon and Saturn combination, in its more workaday sense, can solidify and give form; but again, only with greater effect with personal involvement. Check 17-27 degrees Sagittarius in your own chart to see where Saturn and the Moon illuminate real and concrete issues, so that you/we really know what we are up against. Remember patience is called for. Sometimes pain, problems, uphill struggles can appear so daunting they seem insurmountable. But don’t worry: this is a mutable Full Moon that determines change is our only constant – and timing is, of course, key to understanding change – and karma – which is where astrology excels.

Being the Lord of Karma, Saturn, is often depicted as an old man with a long grey beard, holding a scythe, indicating the cutting down of what was once flourishing. In the reaping, lines get drawn in the earth (could we see more interesting crop circles?!), while boundary-defining Saturn emphasizes the working aspects of farms, finances, public buildings, governments, and the elderly. And with the Moon, Saturn also highlights personal wisdom through harmonising (feminine) experience; in Sagittarius there is also philosophy, academia, in-laws and order to consider.

Rather telling about this Full Moon is how the Gemini Sun is joined by a planetoid, Ceres: the Great Earth Mother. So on one side of the zodiac we see the karmic (Grim) reaper shining with the emotive Moon; and on the other, Mother Goddess of grain, growth and grieving, under the hot Sun’s beams.
Sun’s Gemini Twins and Ceres are also conjunct a Fixed Star, ‘Rigel’, which is a wonderfully bright star that accents wealth through knowledge and education. Rigel marks the Hunter Orion’s left foot that touches Eridanus, the ‘River of Life’ (and the path of the Sun’s passage across the ecliptic); and is a star that denotes being in the flow, nourished by water’s wealth and riches. Mythology tells of the Hunter, in killing all Earths’ beasts he oversteps the mark; and how the Great Goddess sent a scorpion to fatally sting Orion to stop him. Not being cautious, or going ahead while weak, is an important message to take on board, especially for battered cowboys that ride the edge of town looking to party.

While Sun and Ceres do not contact Scorpio in this Full Moon horoscope, Sun does form a quincunx (the 150° awkwardly adjusting push-me-pull-you aspect), to Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler currently in Capricorn (and yet to have third Jupiter-Pluto Square August 4th); all the while Moon throws a connecting semi-sextile that links the wilds of Sagittarius to conservative Capricorn (which rules Saturn); there’s a minor temptation to thrive on the psychological-tensions that surround the never-ending cycle life-death and rebirth.
Synthesising all this suggests we need to inform and educate, and create healthy limits around negative influences that pollute the mind. Rigel’s position also gives a love of action and great success when we learn our lessons: to be life-supporting by nurturing mind, body and soul, to be life-sustaining, not life-defeating. This then, is a Full Moon to really take on board karmic Saturn’s maxim ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’.

Though a mercurial Gemini Sun is generally restless and moves in double-quick time (and along with it the pace of brotherly love, as well as gossip, global news and information), Luna next to Saturn urges us to disseminate slowly, taking time to look with a longer-view at what is already growing, as well as that which can be grown. Be aware how rushing headlong over hurdles could only slow one down this June 8-9-10th. To avoid depleting nerves – and develop resilience – best be comfortable while assessing complications or hindrances; travelling for work could also be slow.

Another astrologically major factor to consider when observing this visionary Full Moon conjunct a retrograde Saturn, is that they are both bang-on the Galactic Centre, accenting the gravity of a massive black hole around which our entire galaxy spins. The Sagittarian Archer’s arrow now points towards a very specific galactic opening. A Centaur tends to THINK BIG at the best of times; and performing actions for the greater good of the whole could open doors and create opportunities that help stay on course when holding the light, and could possibly even explain phobias of being mysteriously pulled into the unknown.
Ultimately, the planets in mutable signs, Gemini & Sagittarius, are also in a tight T-Square to illusive Neptune/Chiron in Pisces, teaching that nothing lasts forever and everything is subject to change. So while the Sun is in Gemini we may want to seek out myriad distractions that promise, albeit temporarily alleviation from tacking whatever is it that bugs or prevents from accomplishing ambitions, even going so deep to admit that any impediment could well be linked to the shallowness of our understanding.

Maturity is required to move ahead freely into the spaces in between (thoughts, places, people) that which you think hold you back. Luckily both ‘Lights’, Sun & Moon (and therefore Earth Goddess and Grim Reaper) are also in the good, triangle aspect with expansive, freedom-loving Jupiter. Jupiter is also extremely potent right now (activating Libra & Aries and situations from April, when Venus retrograde the opposite degree) . After four and half months of retrograde motion, Jupiter is at station to go forward at 13° in relationship-orientated, peace-loving Libra on the third night of the Full Moon. Lawful contracts can be signed, finances balanced, fashion shows and partnership issues harmonised.

🔯 Lastly, this is also a ‘Mini Moon’ in as much as it will look much smaller than usual, but it still holds potent qualities to impart creativity and idealism. As both the virile Sun and confident Jupiter will be in applying (strong) mode to the destiny-fulfilling Aquarian South Node, invigorating the intellectual Grand Air Trine for a week, we become innately aware of the need for balance and clarity in all social dealings. So that when the unifying Grand Air Trine fuses with the spiritually enhancing Grand Fire Trine, between Saturn, Uranus and the North Node, we can learn to glow from the inside out (see Full Moon reports for April & May for details). Within the natural warmth that arises when Air and Fire mingle, all our relationships can become mutually meaningful.

ॐ Scorpio Dakini Moon ~ January 15th/16th 2015

_/\_This Capricorn lunation’s 'Dakini Day', when Spirit Sun makes the last major aspect in the form of the Sextile to the powerful Scorpio Moon, the (tantric) path of transform beckons as the means to liberation. When the waning Scorpio Dakini Moon conjuncts weighty but beauitful Saturn, planet of responsibility and discipline, this direction’s challenges are real and solid (relatively speaking ;) ). Confronting long-held fears can now bring certain karma to an end. Whether the karma ripening now is from this life’s causes and conditions may remain to be seen; there are many celestial factors currently at play which accent the realisation of the results of dedicated perseverance. Indeed, spiritual accomplishment can take many lifetimes. And as TimeLord Saturn in Sagittarius currently has the last say in present aspects - by way of planetary disposition - there’s reason to be optimistic about any work being achieved right now. Astral tip: The broader the view, the stronger and more meaningful the attainment.
