Set the altruistic intention firmly into place and generate the cosmic love vibration to the max, for a wildly exciting and dynamic Full Moon – one that breaks all the usual rules and sets your heart racing, as a vision of the future, bright, shiny and new, becomes clear – even as some influences dramatically hail from out-of-the-blue (people or ideas). Because this is one of the year’s most dramatic and intense, forward-thinking Full Moons in which Sun and Moon are part of a determined ‘Grand Fixed Cross’, a formation that tests commitment and resolve, ideas, as well as relationships. And because the Sun is with Love Goddess Venus, when looking to create positive change that benefits everyone – not just those we intimately love and care for, be ready for a strong blast of all-consuming Love Light. The source of such warmth and brilliance could be anyone’s guess – such is the unpredictability of events and emotions surrounding this Full Moon, which could also mark make or break moments.

Grand Crosses are mighty powerful at the best of times, let alone one that involves Venus Retrograde (Rx) with the secretive Scorpio, conjunct Spirit Sun, which are thus both opposite an exalted Taurus Full Moon, next to an open-minded astral wild-child, Uranus. Hopefully Luna’s elevated Taurean influence, as the Moon in the sign of the Bull is the best possible place to be, is to slow-down, smooth and temper the zappy and jagged Uranian pace. These four planets then form a tight Square to form the Cross with fellow Fixed signs, Leo and Aquarius, along the karmic nodal axis, pulling memories from the collective past, and thrusting them into the creative personal play pen. 

Esoteric Astrology calls all this fixity ‘The Cross of Right Direction’, as it is a powerful ‘Cross of Transformation’, leading from selfishness to selflessness. It’s not an easy Cross to bear in many ways. As the Fixed Cross implies having to go through a massive process of renewal by releasing desires, fears (of the wild mind) and every shred of all old and outworn obsessions, which is quite a tall order, but in no means impossible, as long as one remains open-minded and aware of the importance of emancipating oneself from mental slavery. 

In order to achieve the required selflessness, however, one paradoxically also needs to learn to love and value oneself. Because if you can’t love yourself, then who can you love? Which leads me to the current Venus retrograde question: can you even love those dark demons which are currently trying to hide and set up home in shadowy psychic spaces? Acknowledging how we humans have difficult emotions that often desperately need subjugating, the Scorpio Sun and Venus propose indulging a deep love of psychology and analysis. But the Moon with Uranus also highlights flashes of insight and quicker ways to deal with immediately recognised issues, purely by consciously applying the appropriate emotional antidotes that swiftly impact upon and pacify jealousy, rage, obsession or depression: all of which can actually be quite emotionally liberating. Taking either the slow path of depth psychology or the speedy application of mind-training, both methods are good. One is a means of understanding ‘why’ and the other a technique of ‘how’ to be in control. Really, what we all need are tools to there are very few who can say that they have conquered themselves and have truly renounced desire or aversion.

So, what to do if envy and fixation dog dreams or the waking mind? Firstly, among the most important ways of staying on centre is to not compare oneself to anyone – in any circumstance. When looking around at where you are now, remember that lovely saying ‘Be Yourself. Everyone else is taken’. Secondly, to overcome jealousy or obsession, as hard as it may be, make an effort to be happy if faced with situations that make you wonder why someone else should have all the luck, and not you. Seriously, learn to trust your feelings and muster up all your inside goodness and be joyful for others whose karma has ripened. Recognise how karma works in mysterious ways. And know that the more you are joyful for others (even if its an ex having a good time), the more you are happy within your own mind. Remember there are always remedies to help. When feeling angry, for instance exercise patience; if desirous exercise gratitude (for all you already have) and practice non-attachment. And for addictions (of any kind) now is a good time to reach out to connect with others who can help support the process of releasing toxins pain or suffering within a pleasant and caring environment. Those who can engender a team spirit that alleviates the feeling of isolation are probably closer than you think. 

While a change is often as good as a rest, Spirit Sun with the retrograde Venus tends to cover old ground in order to seek fairness, for the physical body, as well as in relationship. Giving value to all everyone does is paramount when the Sun is with Venus. This often means dealing with old issues, specifically those which came up nine months ago, or even 8 years ago. Old relationships could suddenly reappear, or issues that repeat themselves in your life, as well as the pertinent information that clarifies agreements. Check planets around the early degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius and see where this Cross of Transformation lies and where you are cosmically bound to make dramatic change to free the heartmind and liberate your soul. Be aware how we are all incredibly sensitive beings, some more than others, but each with his or her own electromagnetic subtle energies coursing through the psychic and emotional body. Breathing into tension and spaces through visualisation and exercise helps to release emotional blocks and memories which get stuck in the physical body too. The ensuing lightness of heart also makes it easier to feel enthusiastic about the future, however tough it looks like when reading a newspaper. Know that no man is an island, we are all connected on Spaceship Earth, together we can heal, harmonise, and be holistically happy.

Galactic LOVE ~> Full Moon in Aries 1°59’ ~ Tuesday 25th September 2018 @ 2:51UT

A Full Moon at Equinox, when we experience equal day – equal night around the globe, naturally ramps-up the electromagnetism between Sun-Moon and Earth. Such an intense energy exchange can also escalate our own personal magnetism. Indeed, our ability to magnetise in relationship is about to get a mega-boost when the alluring Love Goddess, Venus, goes retrograde in Scorpio October 6^th. But that’s another love story, saved for later tales of 40 days and 40 nights. 

Though romance does fill the air when the Sun is in Libra, life may already be extra-buzzy (and too busy) to fall head over heels in love, especially with the demands of your own affairs or the special someone, or even those who suck you into their world, into which you gravitate – and you don’t know why. Beware the latter. Remain self-aware. And stay mindful. This is a massively karmic Full Aries Moon, with potentially enduring consequences. 

✰ Because this Full Moon falls on the one day of the year our Spirit Sun exactly connects with our Galaxy’s greater cosmic whole, things are about to get mind-blowingly psychedelic, as the ‘Peace & Love’ Libra Sun aligns with the heart of a massive super-cluster of Galaxies, to which our Galaxy, the Milky Way, belongs. The name of this home super-galactic cluster is ‘Laneakia’, which is Hawaiian for ‘Immeasurable Heaven’. As Spirit Sun now illuminates our connection to the vastness of space, we, too, may be drawn to see those lines we define ourselves by and the protective barriers we erect, often though fear or pain, around our self, our families, our towns or nations, can all fade into insignificance upon appreciating how we really are a part of a hyper-gigantic unified force, connecting billions of light-years across the cosmos, all the way to planet Earth.

Yet everything is relative. Even when travelling through the awesomeness of space, which spaceship Earth is doing at 67,000 miles an hour, unless you want to fall out of your seat, it’s still important to put on one’s metaphoric safety belt. And herein lies one of this Full Moon’s many challenges: when to knuckle-down and buckle-up, and when to fly free.

Thankfully, during a Full Moon brimming with the dramatic tension of endings and beginnings – and a certain kind of magic - there several key pointers to help achieve a certain balance with those we love, and still get our own, and everyone else’s needs’ met. 

1) As a Cardinal Square is activated between Libra Sun and Aries (Harvest) Moon and karmic Saturn in Capricorn, there are bound to be difficulties in finding both liberation AND stability, one or the other, but to experience both will take a rare kind of wisdom. 

Whatever you are dealing with, the Moon’s association with Chiron suggests self-care is paramount before taking care of anyone or anything else – if only to be in tip-top condition and ready and ripe for action, and/or to keep feet on the ground and stop yourself from becoming moody, anxious or resentful. You know what the Air Steward says when traversing choppy sky: “look after yourself first, before taking care of the more vulnerable”.
2) The bright Libra Sun emanating peace, love, beauty and harmony isn’t enough, however. We have to embody equanimity for those in authority to show respect. Yes, you can jangle beads and wear flowers in your hair, even bandy waving placards in the face of injustice, but serious action is now called for, albeit in a cautious manner.

 It is essential to communicate clearly about how much we care, about o with whom, and what we want do or to nurture. Make sure everyone now in your close circle remains informed. Otherwise, should things go wrong in any event we risk blaming others for any hurt, upset or obstacle we could encounter. 

Because the artistic Libra Sun is with Mercury, planet of the mind, it’s even okay to sit on the fence for a while when making decisions. At least from that vantage point one has a painterly view, seeing both sides of any story – and any major choices will be the result of having looked the issue from every angle. But don’t dilly-dally too long, and be prepared to make interesting changes October 10^th.

3) Whenever Luna is in Aries there is usually a cause to champion, and a rush to charge in where angels fear to tread. Be aware, however: an Aires Moon with Shamanic Chiron can be fast and furious, and idiotically clumsy. Only with personal responsibility, self-confidence and total self-awareness can we really be as autonomous as a Full Aries Moon suggests. With the Libra Sun providing emotional balance, one may avoid the danger of self-inflicting wounds which merely prove just how self-centred and childish we can be. Sorry if that sounds harsh. But when drama unfolds and action stations may no longer be a drill, we need to be able to act with certainty, understanding strengths, skills and limitations, and when we can rely upon others.

In point of astral Aries Moon fact, it’s time to be nice to that crazy inner-wild-child. Life can be unbelievably tough for many beings – even when we look at others and think they have it all (whatever ‘it’ is), there can be issues going on under the surface that carry the burden of suffering. The Aries Moon can live life like a battle field, so gentle-up now with Shaman Chiron, and any war-wounds that need a little more healing time and space.

✰ Under any difficult circumstance, the heavens now suggest that if we feel down we pick ourselves and to do what we need to support our self in relationship. Put on the symbolic Band-Aid if necessary, and try not to add more damage. Remember too, how Libran diplomacy is a currency that can be traded and bartered. Note how much more gets done with kind words. Rather than shouting or barking orders, be inspired by Keanu Reeves, who says “If you have been brutally broken but still have the courage to be gentle to other living beings, then you're a badass with a heart of an angel.” Let the badass angel’s heart beat loud and strong right now.

4) As both Sun and Moon are in the tight Cardinal ‘T’ Square with taskmaster Saturn, now boosted by being at home in Capricorn, self-management and self-motivation go a long way, both at work, and play. Under pressure, events around a passionate Aries Moon can be fiery and volatile. Those in tune with the Full Aries Moon can quickly bounce back to swiftly regain composure however, to keep ones’ cool and be the reassuring person who can lead others if called for, or should problems arise. 

✰ As the hierarchical ruler of Libra, Saturn is very dominant this Full Moon chart. As well as being the overlord for the current Fixed Cross, Saturn learns to come from heart is the way to create helpful karma. 

Working situations could also require innovative quick-thinking as well as bucket loads of charm to achieve satisfaction. All-the-while Saturn urges us to keep an eye on distant goals and a long term 38-year cycles (1982-2020), especially when methodically overcoming obstacles.  

5) The Grand Fixed Cross which shaped into being with the New Virgo Moon, 9^th September is set to stay until the beginning of November, to remind us of the quality of light and life within our collective human soul. For a Grand Cross to stay so long is rare, so we have some time to make the most of what it has to offer: this particular Fixed Cross emanates issues of freedom and closeness, as liberating Uranus in earthy Taurus opposite an about-to-go-retrograde Venus in powerful Scorpio, crossed with the fated nodal axis in Leo-Aquarius; turning this of cross transformation one moves from being selfish to selflessness.

This Fixed Cross highlights a critical spiritual mass illumination, when we become aware of issues larger than one self. It is a time of no turning back, as collective Spiritual intuition permeates the noosphere with an understanding of the brilliance of the human spirit and soul, particularly in relation to the extent of solar, planetary, and galactic forces.  

✰ Basically, now is the time to be aware of direction and influences, and get determined to not mess around too much. Use this current fixity to harness immovable intent. Unhook from old habits and find an inner freedom from being released  Also during the Fixed Cross it’s wise to develop an understanding of the plethora of system changes now taking place within the collective consciousness. Not that all systems are meant to be rigidly held in place all the time for anyone, including the light-worker spiritual warrior: rules are always made to be broken; but current celestial guidelines advise creating good karma and standing strongly in Spirit and developing intuition. 

6) Another features in the Full Moon horoscope worthy of mention is the ‘Mystic Rectangle’, a pattern often referred to as the place of practical magic; in this case the Full Moon and Spirit Sun are with planetary protagonists from the Fixed Cross, as the Moon trines the destiny-fulfilling North Node, which then Sun Sextiles, as Sun trines the Mars, South Node Black Moon Lilith conjunction, which in sextile to the Moon. It’s a tightly bound box containing much spiritual juju. 

While the Mystic Rectangle is generally helpful, raising the altruistic intention when dealing with issues of abandonment or aggression , and doing what is best for everyone, shows that compassion is actually a form of shamanic self-healing - for those giving and those receiving – everyone benefits from kindness.

 As the season turns with this Solstice Honey Moon, cast your mind back to those NY resolutions you made to yourself? With the six-month marker you thought you would use to measure to see how you were doing? Well. Here we are. And reassessing the important things in life is most timely, if not a necessity.

Be it home, career, or the relationship and respect we have for (our own personal, family) authority, this Full June Moon will highlight both, the material and spiritual work, ahead and already done – with a welcome pause now, to rest in the present, Solstice-influenced Full Capricorn Moon and just ‘be in the now'. Because it is only in this present moment that we can have any affect upon future karma (and forgive, let go and release the past), it makes sense to find our balance and stay on centre. 

…Though the astrological aspects are diverse in this Full Moon chart, with a dominating ‘Grand Water Trine’, a ‘Cardinal ‘T’-Square’, and the beginnings of the rest of the years’ ‘Fixed Cross’; there are several key celestial points to which one can co-create with universe and apply to whatever is going on now, as well as aforementioned resolutions and long-term plans that will get a reboot. This is due to the lingering nature of the planets currently in retrograde: martial Mars, authoritative Saturn and powerhouse Pluto will be going backwards throughout the north’s summer/south’s winter, forcing one to reconsider a certain course of action that regenerate and renew; all the while expansive Jupiter creates optimism with forward motion July 10^th; and Mercury goes retro just before July’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, to zap up the drama! But first let’s look at the Luminaries (Sun & Moon) during the Year of the Earth Dog’s ‘Honey Moon’

1)  ☆ The horoscope of this Full Capricorn Moon opposite Spirit Sun, radiating in the super-sensitive sign Cancer (the Moon’s ruler) initially appears subdued. It shows a detrimental Luna in the ambitious sign of the Sea Goat (not her favourite position by any means), conjunct Time Lord Saturn, planet of accomplishment and long-established business and empires only compounds the seriousness surrounding this Full Moon. Saturn is now retrograde in home sign Capricorn; by September it will have retreated all the way back to revisit the same place it was at the beginning of 2018. Potentially, this means another three months of seriously motivated work, forming and reforming, working and reworking whatever we consider important in the greater scheme to give certain ideas, relationships and projects, a real and solid base. Backwards and slow moving, although Saturn is glowing golden in the midnight sky, the current position suggests revising and amending particular issues that initially arose at the beginning the year. Where these early degrees of Capricorn (4-8°) lie in your own horoscope will give you a reality check on the astral rework currently in effect. Capricorn’s practical and empirical influence is durable and strong, if somewhat heavy and humourless. Together, however, and despite an irony bypass, a Full Capricorn Moon and Saturn can actually indicate a powerful emotional development.

☆ When the Sun spotlights karmic Saturn and the sensitive Moon, it normally indicates the need to overcome daunt and dread; and all kinds of doubts, fears and obstacles can come to light. As tough as this may seem, it’s good to acknowledge any limitations and emotional blocks we have to face for personal evolution (time, money, support, talent and luck, are all areas which could need to be considered). Still, this is not the time to shirk personal responsibility, shrink into the shadows, or succumb to battle fatigue. On the contrary, it’s time to provide solid foundations, and show how we care about those with whom we live and work, those whom we share our most challenging karmic path: our families, colleagues and cohorts. 

While you might feel a little like Bambi going head-to-head with Godzilla*, this Full Moon conjunct Saturn encourages practical solutions to successful personal accomplishment – all of which takes time, planning, patience, and a lot of hands-on hard work, from which there is no escape. 

This is a combination that also symbolises heavy weather, as traditional Saturn concentrates the receptive sympathy of the Moon. Where we are may seem dull or depressing, or even oppressive to some. If so, take time out for a breather, as this is a planetary pattern that indicates climbing the metaphoric mountains and we have now reached a threshold, a pass which needs to be crossed carefully, and with reason.  

☆ In mundane astrology, which is the astrological study of the geo-socio-political, the family-orientated Moon represents ‘The People’, whilst taskmaster Saturn is the commanding voice of authority. Interestingly, career advice or family guidance could come from a place with even greater superiority, as the Sun is with fixed star ‘Mirzam’ at the Full Moon. Speaking out to proclaim an extremely important message is the astrological signature of Mirzam, one of the stars of Canis Major: the heaven’s large and barking dog. Who knows what we will hear, or from where, but keep your ears open: ‘an announcement’ with impact is due.

☆ Getting one’s needs met on a basic and practical level is mega important when the Moon is with down-to-earth Saturn. With a multiple of tricky aspects to negotiate, make an effort to keep things simple to stay on centre and in your flow (I know: easier said than done in this world full of distraction.). Complications could suddenly arise with the feeling that one is missing out, or lacking support from those who have the means to provide patronage. Be aware the real you is loving, clear and kind, not the nagging critic. 

Okay, a rut may be before you. And you may have already measured the state of the mud therein. But in the perceived fear of losing security, ask yourself if you really need to be stuck and hemmed-in from all sides’ It may be helpful to know that in the run-up and during the Full Moon, both Cancer Sun and Capricorn Moon/Saturn make easy and harmonious links to unconventional Uranus in stabilising Taurus, presenting accessible alternatives to the way we live, eat and work, which can liberate and free up the mind – as well as the wallet. By accepting personal responsibility and acting for the greater good in any current circumstance we can also gain a sense of freedom and the potential for personal creativity comes to the fore. 

☆ Astrological aspects that take place immediately preceding culmination are actually the most potent: so get to know taskmaster Saturn’s rules well, in order to break them more easily. Being told one must take personal responsibility for difficult situations (in which you are blameless) can sometimes seem like one is yet again faced with another obstacle. But karma works in mysterious ways, and it pays to be kind and compassionate.
Indeed, old alliances are breaking-up and, in the name of consolidation, those who dictate authority (and who can therefore make a difference) could even abnegate upon a whim any previous obligation to protect and preserve. As this year progresses new social systems will become ever more apparent. Whether these are any better than what we have now remains to be seen. Looking ahead to the long-term, by the end of 2020 we may need to call in professionals to bring about a more helpful change.

2) ☆ Right now, however, Sol creates the axis opposite the Moon and Saturn to also form a ‘Cardinal T-Square’ with Shamanic Chiron and healing asteroid Hygea, united at the 90° right angle in Aries. This is an active and dynamic T-Square, accenting the wisdom of looking after our health, and to discover how happiness comes from within, especially during times of powerful healing.

3) ☆ The major celestial maker for this Full Moon is, however, a deeply sensitive ‘Grand Water Trine’. This triangle with three points 120° apart includes the Cancer Sun, in the same sign as the heavenly courier, Mercury, and Pallas Athena, warrior Goddess – a union to nurture and cleanse, and one with plans to sustain the psychic powers of Jupiter in Scorpio, plus the visionary blessing and initiation into the Divine which comes about with Neptune in Pisces. 

☆ The ‘Grand Water Trine’ can easily influence great swathes of people, often through deception and seemingly psychic forces. But with the Moon conjunct Saturn, one should learn to erect invisible protection.
From the spiritual point of view, the Water Trine can also activate the seventh ray, the crown chakra associated with the awakened state of awareness: i.e. enlightenment. Through the purifying power of water, the physical body can awaken the compassion and kindness of a heart and mind aligned with the ‘higher self’.  This ‘Water Trine’ will vary in intensity for the next month to avail us with life’s mysteries.

4)  ☆ Immediately following the moment of a Full Moon, Luna begins to wane. During the wind-down of this lunation we begin to enter into ‘Eclipse Season’ with a new Cancer ruled New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 13^th July. Eclipses bring about geophysical shifts, as well as the more personal emotional turning points. These changes can take place a week or so before the eclipse, so be aware that all kinds of energies can filter through an eclipse portal.

5) ☆ Which brings me to the last point of astral note, and yet another indication how this Full Moon has associations with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in January, as the now retrograde Aquarian Mars conjuncts the South Node with orb of the eclipse degrees, i.e. incoming cosmic influences are forceful in the message of renewal. Mars only goes retrograde every 2-and-abit years; Mars retro in Aquarius is even rarer. The last time heroic Mars went retrograde in Aquarius was July 1971, the next is well into the 22^nd century. So this is a rare moment when the brave Mars retrogrades to tap into eclipse season; dealing with past karma will need to be tempered with an altruism that looks after all beings, from people to dolphins to ants to apes. Heaven knows, we all could all now do with revising how we all come together as a unit, to show our collective humanity and healing.

Venerated as Vesek in some countries (honouring ‘Buddha’’s life day; the Full Moon Poya for specifically wishing Buddha’s blessings for friends and readers in Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Mayanmar), most other parts of Asia and Himalayas will be revering the Buddha’s accomplishment May 29^th, the next Full Moon, making merit and offerings.  So this current Pink Scorpio lunation, which culminates 29^th-30^th April (depending upon time zone), leads into the waning cycle that takes one into the month long celebration of SakaDawa – Wesek, and Lord Buddha’s enlightenment, starting 15^th May with an New Taurus Moon.

Luna is currently reflecting the light of the realistic Taurean Sun, events and situations surrounding this Sunday night’s Full Scorpio Moon have the potential to become like a celestial mirror, like the Guru teachings revealing a great deal about ourselves – and all our wants and desires, especially in relation to others – and the drama that entails. Whether we are dealing with career, home or kids, looks or lifestyle or hours on the cushion, certain things may seem rock solid when seeking stability such as money, bricks and mortar, but how wisely we share the parts of life we truly value will also show how much we understand the material world is only relative when it comes to life’s greater prize, that of fulfilling and close, trusted relations.

Releasing the old and outworn – even with a tinge of sadness – is almost mandatory, in order to be reborn and step out into the light. Of course, to ride the continual waves that take corkscrew twists and turns, one needs personal stamina and strength, as well as invested input from others.

In actuality our interconnections are also an easy indication of how we are personally vibrating, low or high, at any given moment. If we’re stressed or grumpy, for instance, we rarely meet sunshine and roses. Similarly, when we greet the world with a smile and a positive outlook, our resulting interactions are generally joyful. The good news is that while this intense Full Moon climaxes at 10° Scorpio (rounding up) on Monday 30^th April, @00:56 UT (Sunday night 29^th in the US), a growing sense of optimism emerges alongside, due mainly to the Moon’s conjunction with the ever-hopeful, always generous Jupiter, giving Scorpio’s born around the 5^th-17^th November an extra boost of confidence and luck.

Instead of a Full Moon leaving one exhausted by the wayside in its wake, this one may actually energise a few days into the waning part of the Moon cycle, if not physically then certainly philosophically, freeing one up to make some kind of personal revamp by May 5th. Although the planets advise that we watch expectations with the risk-taking but retrograde Jupiter (until 11^th July) going over old but shared ground. Be aware that because the Lights also aspect Neptune (with fixed star ‘Aschenar’), certain dreams can currently dissipate as quickly as they arrive (Early March babies could resonate with bubbles that captivate before bursting, only for another seductive bubble to come along and hook, charm and pop (all of which is part of the grand celestial plan to connect one to God, Goddess, and all that is.)).

In the run-up to this lunation’s culmination, both Sun and Moon also form helpful aspects to pragmatic Saturn, making the tangible seemingly more viable. Although, Saturn is currently retrograde and conjunct Fixed Star, Facies: one needs to fix sight upon the target, to harness the power of the moment to focus and concentrate upon exactly what it is that we wish to commit to, recognising that long-term projects started now may take until December to complete.

Fixation – Fixity – Fix – Fixed 

☩Indeed there is a great deal of ‘fixed-ness’ in this Full Moon chart, where ‘The Lights’, Sun and Moon, already in Fixed signs Taurus and Scorpio, form a tight square to the shadowy Moon’s Nodes, which are currently in fellow fixed signs, Leo and Aquarius. Constellating all soul’s elements, a ‘Cross’ formation has four celestial markers, ninety degrees apart to form a large square that dominates the chart; and this particular case it also means the Lights are coming to perfect a position known as being ‘at the bends’, i.e. when a planet squares the karmically connected alignment of the Lunar Nodes, North and South (Dragon’s head and Dragon’s tail, the unseen portals Rahu and Ketu respectively). In this configuration, learning from past collective issues is crucial to remaining true to one’s ethics and principles.  

☩ When ‘The Lights’ are at fixed ‘The Bends’ we reach a crossroad: decisions are to be made – with this particular ‘Fixed’ crossing representing the sacrifices we make in order to create a better world for others (with our creative input essential).  Admittedly it’s not the easiest of celestial formations, as it also implies that in order to move on one needs to have an element of spiritual intuition, if only for a fleeting instant, but have it we must, if we are to evolve harmonious karma.  Its like we have to have a place to be fixed from, in order to next move .

☩ In esoteric astrology it is the ‘Fixed Cross’ only (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) that can directly transmit the ‘energies’ of the other planets in the solar system. Thus is might be take a leaf out of Jupiter’s sacred book: be hopeful about all the positive aspects the Sun and Moon make to expansive Jupiter, responsible Saturn and compassionate Neptune, that they can and will enhance humanity’s spiritual awareness, as well as one’s personal commitment to remain facing the light, in the light, as the light, expressly at shadowy moments when desire nature is seriously tested.

☩ A Fixed Cross stimulates the heart of the life-giving Sun; in desirous and sensuous Taurus it accents the human soul’s connection to Earth, to the body and the divine ego. To treat one’s body as a temple, even when the Moon is in detriment in Scorpio, is a means to activate intuition and the awareness of self in relation to others. 

☩ The Fixed Cross concentrates the individual focus to elevate self-consciousness (Leo), to that of becoming a world server (Aquarius). In other words, Taurean desire transmutes into Scorpio’s aspiration to share; while Leo selfishness converts into Aquarian selflessness.

I realise such lofty ideals could be considered challenging at a time when it might seem its’ just lil’ ol’ you, as an individual spiritual warrior who intentionally raises the cosmic love vibration; but each and every act of kindness counts towards a collective critical mass. It’s helpful to recognise and acknowledge that a friendly Ketu, the Aquarian South Node is presently at work, suggesting we recall major historical periods when the human race was socially minded and visionary, caring and creating workable systems for education, welfare and interconnection – because this is where we are currently and collectively ‘coming from’: i.e. just as fascism and totalitarianism are in our history, so too is philanthropic, consciousness raising, group consciousness. Mark ‘Winter Solstice 2020’ onto your calendar: human goodness is destined to become fashionable again for a more global show of Aquarian altruism.

☩ Just how we are going to fulfil our destiny today, however, is by taking care of one self (and each other). Also in this Fixed Cross formation is the Earth Mother, Ceres. Though Ceres was only promoted to a dwarf planet in 2006, many astrologers have been working with ‘asteroids’ (her previous incarnation) for decades, balancing the feminine with the masculine in the horoscope. Ceres is the largest of the asteroids, also called Demeter, and is probably the most complex as her charge is about growing – and grieving. Interestingly, the Earth Mother Ceres has been with the current North Node since this January’s Blue Blood lunar Eclipse, accenting a fair few months of tending and nurturing, all of which is again coming to a head. Be it the land, children, or even our own selves, pet projects or wounds, Ceres is now calling, together with Lion-Dragon’s Head, telling us there’s a time and a place for everything, with changes from winter to summer or vice versa, from new shoots to full bloom, from falling leaves to rest before rejuvenation – and that we are presently at that point when the Cosmic Wheel turns at the Fixed Cross Solar Fire Festival. 

☆ Ultimately, NOW is the time to invest in self-care and bravely hold up Moon’s mirror and honestly love what we see: not in a destructive, narcissistic, greedy or self-cherishing, grasping kind of way, but gently, with self-acceptance, self-love, and a powerful self-esteem that eliminates self-deception to clarify the heartmind. Then the individual’s soul can freely merge into a humanitarian collective awareness with ease and confidence and the will-to-good.
