Medicine Buddha for all those affected by the 7.9 Earthquake in Nepal ॐ_/♥\_ॐ_/♥\_ॐ_/♥\_

Due to several dramatic events this week, the volcano in Chile, and two quakes, in New Zealand and Nepal, I’ve been asked as to why now, seeing as we are not in the usual time-frame of eclipse season? Firstly, the Sun has been fairly active mid-week (and we on Earth tend to lag a few days behind solar activity's effects); and though not so large, solar flares have been medium sized but rather long lasting, releasing vast and unstable electromagnetic plumes from a northerly direction (entering into Earth’s crown chakra, Tibet/Nepal, and more lightly through southerly base chakra, NZ).

Earth is also crossing a point in the sky called the ‘heliospheric current sheet’; this is when planet Earth experiences Sun’s magnetic polarity changing from north to south. This is a time of planetary adjustment (which can wreak seemingly widespread damage, espcially if other planetary configurations interact, such as now).These are not the only astrological/astronomical markers: Also significant is the conjunction of quicksilver Mercury and fiery Mars, both in earthy Taurus (on the exact point of their own nodes (yes, each planet also has its' own nodal/eclipse cycle)); In square to Jupiter, the planet of expansion in Leo, this combination of Jupiter, Mars & Mercury means dramatic shake-ups are fast and furious. With the Sun also in Taurus and the Moon now uniting in generous Leo with the cosmic Guru, Jupiter, this fixed and extremely determined combination of ‘The Lights’ accents the value of the creative tension, the divine spark inherent in all beings, as well as the ability to quickly heal, with focus and care.

It’s also a medicine Buddha - Tara Moon day (depending upon which tradition is followed), the first quarter moon, a time of crisis in action, when the healing emphasis is upon stabilising one self (the earth and others) by connecting to the natural world, and seeing artistic and cultural value, as well as surrounding precious resources.

As all helping hands and deities are needed today, especially in Nepal, here are both mantras:

New Moon Diwali Solar Eclipse ☾ ♏ ☼ 2013 Sunday 3rd November

Festival of Light ~> Diwali Solar Eclipse - Igniting Sacred Light

The New Moon Solar Eclipse at 12 degrees Scorpio is the most potent New Moon of the year, as both Sun and Moon are with sobering Saturn and retrograde Mercury ~>  Call in protectors & set intentions wisely, as this Solar Eclipse is triple charged with a karmic mother-load, reminding us ‘what we sow, so shall we reap’.

From the tantric meditators point of view, during this particular eclipse subtle body sensitivity to unseen energy can at once highlight and/or clear kleshas (karmic imprints) in an instant, or at least chip away at old ‘stuff’ to lighten-up the way along the Dharma path. 

Meditators who work with the subtle body, channels and chakras, can, throughout this eclipse – and without identifying with ‘egoic mind’ – draw up from the Earth powerful healing Goddess energies through the central channel; at the same time, bring down through the crown with strong powers of visualisation a purifying insight that has the potential to release (past-life) habits and change thought patterns to alter direction and create dramatic transformation, all the while remaining grounded and stable at the base, bringing the Light out of from darkness, to radiate at the heart.

This eclipse has a peak of 1 minute 45 seconds, and will last approximately an hour and a half, depending upon where you are in the world, with Central Africa witnessing some totality.  Its influence is long-lasting, meaning that “Nothing ever goes away until it teaches you what you need to know” ~> quote from Pema Chodron

Guru Purnima ~ Full Capricorn Moon July 2012

Tonight’s full Capricorn Moon (July 3rd) suggests we are all, somehow, in the midst of change. For some the changes are sudden and dramatic, for others it is incredibly subtle, but powerful nonetheless.

Whatever events currently occupy body, speech or mind, during this full Moon (over the next few days), instinct deepens and intuition heightened, stimulating solar plexus and crown chakra so individual self can align with a DIVINE purpose_(♥)_

This is Guru Purnima, the Full Moon in which we honour the Divine Guru (within) _(♥)_

Crowning Leo Glory ~> Full Moon in Aquarius 2011

A mega blast of cosmic energy roared from the Leo Sun King marking wild this week. The triple series of solar flares peaked with an X-flare on Tuesday the 9^th August at 8:05UT. Solar flares hurl highly-charged particles and plasma into the solar system. These fierce coronal mass ejections impact upon Earth through a variety of means, from the weather to communication satellites; the flare on Tuesday (Mar’s day) was thankfully not directed head-on towards Earth, yet there are still strong vibrations; and the sensitive found it hard to sleep, with little appetite, feeling listless. This particular set of flares are symbolic of our spiritual progress and being able to familiarise oneself with the ability to remain centred during the purification process which encourages the Leo crown (chakra) to shine.  

The Sun is exalted in Leo, so events are dramatic, and often fun. Though this past week has been ‘marred’, literally, with Mars igniting volatile inflamitory issues through the challenging square to Uranus in Aries, i.e. the economic downgrades for U.S. & France, and of course, the "England riots", which shocked everyone by the speed at which they spread (and I don’t think one can blame social media, I saw many posts that encouraged people to stay home and safe). Mars is hot, fiery and implusive, as is Aries. Uranus however, will reveal any instability, whereas Mars ignites the tinder-box. Mars is also in a detrimental position throughout August (in homey Cancer, as well as being ‘unruly’ out-of-bounds). Mars also aggravates anger; it is well documented that people lose their ability to think straight when angry. Rioting is therefore a lose-lose situation - all the more reason to follow the Buddha’s advice and practice being calm. Yet with Mars' opposition to powerful but secretive Pluto (square Uranus), has brought a challenging and often polarising emotional and economic roller-coasters to ride, from the depths of dispair and up again to envisioning the confident future - as well as bringing previously hidden ufo files, to surface. I love ufology and am endlessly fascinated by what’s hidden in space (of course from the Buddhist pov, there is no-space:)). But still, my relative inclination is towards spiritual esoterica.  

Esoterically speaking, it might interest you to know how the Sun works on three levels - a bit like a sand-mandala, with its’ triple layered meaning: physical (body), heart (speech) and Spirit (the wisdom mind). There are also times when each of the Sun’s different qualities are activated. We are now in a long period of coming to understand the Spiritual wisdom-mind, a mind that has been stirring the heart-mind with varying intensity since the summer solstice 2010.

During this time of accelerated Spiritual development, we are learning to go beyond the political mundane events we see around us, and elevate our consciousness so that when confronted by difficult situations we remain clear and lucid.  

The Full Moon at 20 degrees of Aquarius on Saturday August 13^th, at 19:57bst, we have the opportunity to connect to kindred spirits, and raise that loving vibration, to generate the altruistic intention the Aquarian brotherhood of humankind symbolises.

Planet Venus is also currently up-close and very personal with the Sun (exact conjunction on 16th) and opposing the Moon, indicating the importance of LOVE. So let's look at how we love: INTERpersonal describes relationships between you and another. INTRApersonal describes self-love - which is very poignant during a superior conjunction of the Sun and Venus. Can you honestly say, with hand on heart, that you love all of yourself? During this time when Spirit Sun is with Venus planet of values, respect and love, learning to love oneself, ghastly bits and all, is paramount, in order to transform the very same negative aspects. That which we condemn or deny are the most difficult to transform.

Acceptance encourages the healing magic.

As we say in Buddhism, when we learn to love one's own demons - jealousy, anger, greed etc, they stop eating at us or destroying in the same destructive way - and, more often than not, they disappear.

To be dedicated to LOVE is to be dedicated to evolution of the human SPIRIT.

Healing Field of Consciousness ☼ Pisces Sun*Mercury*Chiron*Mars*Neptune conjunction

In true watery Piscean fashion, we’re flowing through a series of potentially challenging alignments in Samsara’s choppy sea. Several planets currently working together, Sun ~ Mercury ~ Mars ~ Chiron ~ Neptune in cosmic Pisces/Aquarius conjunction, potentially bringing untold healing and awareness of the heart-mind through unseen means, such as unshaken faith in the face of uncertainty.  At the same time, great swathes of emotional undercurrents pulsate through ‘the field’ of consciousness, emitting a deep vibration that is wonderful for meditation and spiritual Lightwork; but personal psychic boundaries could be very porous, allowing access for the feelings of others to purvade, influence and sway in a non-spoken kind of way (and it is particularly easy to be lost in distraction when keeping apace with the constantly breaking news). When the radiant Solar Light of the life-giving Sun is in Pisces, however, unconditional LOVE is the only solace, as one can absorb the almost unbearable isolation of suffering and pain, which love, and love alone can heal.  

You might think keeping an open heart is a tall order, especially in light of what is happening now across the globe, as Jupiter speeds through Aries to soon oppose Saturn (March 28); all kinds of regimes are in transition. But in the theory of Piscean ‘Oneness’, the heavens only reflect our own capacity, and with so many planets in Pisces, Aquarius and Capricorn, we apparently do have the means and potential to raise the vibration from heart up to anja and the crown chakra, and meet the Hierarchy of souls that lift the rapidly drowning faithful from pounding waters, and place them safely upon the metaphoric mountain, from where they are able to watch the tide recess. In esoteric astrology, Pisces elevates consiousness. Now the Shambhalla Warrior overcomes the hold the material world has on the soul and, instead, Spirit Sun and soul blend together to shine ‘The Light of The World’, which forever ends the darkness of matter.

Finding forgiveness in Chiron, the wounded healer, and illuminating Mercury – healing brother cum-trickster, who both join Spirit Sun, we encounter the mysterious realms of magical unicorns, wounded shamans, victims and martyrs. Mars in this position endangers the sacred – particularly as Grand Duke, Jupiter, swashbuckles through Aries, the sign that rules Mars. Yet it is through the ‘Right Action’ of Mars in Pisces, which enables one to activate the third eye, anja through mindful meditation.

From the Tibetan point of view we are coming to the end of the end of the year.  On March 4/5^th, the Tibetan New Year, Losar, we discover how there’s nearly always an element of chaos and complexity amidst any kind of radical transformation, as the old year passes and the new begins. The key to navigating change at this moment in time is to develop inner-strength and the faith to show unconditional compassion in private, as well as public - to self and to others.  It takes the commitment of a Spiritual Warrior of the highest order to honour the heart and be continually kind to others, especially to the confused or duped, angry or hysterical – because strong but formless Pisces emotions can permiate the atmosphere, to creep in and destabilise our own psyche by polluting the mind, swaying the ego, and from somewhere in the back of our materialistic head tempting offers to the iron grip ego to dominate and take control. Bare in mind that holding onto an idea, thing, or person, through playful love, kindness and beauty is the road to bliss; when we hold too tight to that obsession or addiction, there’s a high probability of squeezing out the last breath of the very thing one desires. So do be extra careful when tempted to play power games – with or without self, especially this Friday, the 25^th, when there is a call for transformation through action and to raise Bodhicitta.

With spring on its way breathing new life into heart and soul, inner-strength gathers momentum and dramatically new planetary energies quickly abound: Munificent Jupiter has sped into Aries, to fast-track and set the tone for growth and expansion with new ideas and new paradigms at the helm. Activist Uranus joins adventurous Aries on March 11, stirring up the need for personal volition in the midst of sudden evolution. This can be a particularly explosive combination. Aries is a hot and fiery sign, and Jupiter magnifies everything, including danger and drama - I will look more closely at this ingress of Uranus later, as it instigates the beginning of seven squares to Pluto in Capricorn, and, as we know, seven is an important number for any initiation (Note: Pluto esoterically rules Pisces.).  

Turning up the immediate heat, risk-taking Jupiter is currently in a tense square aspect to secretive Pluto to be exact on Friday the 25^th: it may be a struggle trying to keep certain matters hidden, which might affect one’s position. In order to get the most out of this particular window of potential insight and perspective, however, it might be helpful to look back to December 2007. Please check this date, and see if there were issues of freedom and oppression back then. If so, while new experiences beckon, it is also worth advocating self-control en route to process, progress and growth, so that we don’t rush headlong into any kind of chasm. For now is the time to embrace the dark-side and find the radiant light of love from within, to dissolves the demons' power; for that very love is the only salvation.
