Only a few days before Solstice, aligning exactly with the spiralling Galactic Centre at 26° Sagittarius, 8:31UT Monday 17^th June, this Full Honey Moon assures copious amounts of sweetness, hope, and mystery.

As cute as that may sound, keep your wits about you. Because during a Full Moon that revolves around the Milky Way in the sign of the Archer conjunct the compact gamma-ray radio source, Sagittarius A, we require information, truth, and faith, in order to navigate the unknown. Having eyes in the back of your head will also help.
 
During the Full Honey Moon when Luna tunes into the Galactic Heart, we can become aware how all kinds of info and ideas are being signalled for us to pick-up and digest. Through whatever platform you use to communicate (through the Gemini Sun), bear in mind that whatever is heard or received, be it a direct instruction or plain-old gobbledegook, wisdom now shines through by aiming (the Sagittarian archer’s arrow) far and high, all-the-while keeping faith close to heart, expectations and hope in perspective, and a vow to always be okay with whatever happens next.  

Indeed, those gifted with a versatile mind and the ability to swiftly spin and change direction upon a dime will do well on this Full Moon, as the quality of ‘Mutable Fire’ carries the tone of a far-reaching Sagittarius Honey Moon horoscope, i.e. this is a Moon of changeable action that encourages adjustments to be sweet in ease and hope.

Also empowering this hipster swivelling Moon to move and groove whilst staying on emotional centre and surround oneself with all good things is expansive Jupiter, in home sign Sagittarius, where Jupiter positively amplifies everything, including the potential for luck and success.

Note Jupiter at home in Sagittarius is THE planetary placement for understanding new discoveries and adventure, especially in the great halls of learning, academia and law, places that broaden the mind – as well as the actual viewpoint.  

Open-minded Jupiter is also the ‘driver’, training this ‘locomotive’ chart; i.e. Jupiter, the Sky God with thunderbolt in hand, is first to come over the horizon with the rest of the planets to follow – just how a grandiose Jupiter likes it, leading the planetary precession, imparting optimism and confidence by example. Even if this all sounds like a bit of a party, it is. BUT be aware Jupiter is retrograde; and with the emotional Full Moon it indicates we all need to majorly rework our responses to various different viewpoints – especially those concerning the expansion of freedom and justice, communication and instruction, perhaps even through high-courts and councils if need be, as Jupiter leads the ‘Train of Truth & Freedom’ around the heart of the Galaxy in a spiralling roundabout manner, going over old ground but off the beaten track, the scenic route preferred.

A head spinning this way and that could have its advantages, specifically when grasping the phenomenal astronomical enormity and power that emanates from the Milky Way’s Central Galactic Heart. Such contemplation could even bring Jupiter’s jolly japes and often inflated plans and ideas back into scale. Surely, Jupiter at the Galactic centre will always want to make sense of the Gamma rays and radio waves, pulsars, tightly-packed spinning neutron stars, and dark matter that isn’t under gravitational influence: because all are said to radiate from Sagittarius A, the supermassive black hole which is a cosmic soup from which everything stirs. Indeed, we even use gamma rays to heal, in Cancer therapy for instance; and harm, as in deadly radiation. But the actual power structure of ‘Dark Matter’ is a scientific mystery. To date there isn’t a consensus upon what the pulsating heart of our Milky Way is actually directing Earthbound.

All this and more may be the reason Jupiter and the associated sign of Sagittarius are the astrological indication of seeking truths. Situations that affect large swaths of people veiled from truth, as in often totally obscured, is a theme for 2019, of which the Sagittarian Jupiter shares with nebulous Neptune in a tight, Last Quarter Square, which is exact at just a few hours before the culmination of the Galactic Heart Full Honey Moon (June 16^th @15:19UT, 18° Sagittarius Jupiter square 18° Pisces Neptune).

☆ The Full Moon illuminates the opaque; as things unseen need not be confined to subterfuge or hidden plots to take over the world (as in the present Capricorn conjunction of Saturn and Pluto on the South Node); but what we can’t see but often ‘feel’, as in sensing hypnotic strength in magnetic fields, can also be helpful. These sensations could best be described waves of collective wishes and longing, potentially Divine in nature, angelic in approach, and enlightened in presence and purpose, i.e. there is a serious force for good in the world, all we have to do is the believe.

The Jupiter Neptune Square 2019

Call the supremely connected cosmic force which envelops the universe God, Goddess, Nature, the Void, Allah, Buddha, Krishna, Vishnu or Shiva, whatever you want, but the Divine is centre the celestial stage whenever there is a Neptune transit. Activating this year-long (closing) square between knowledgeable Jupiter and dreamy Neptune is a connection that began late May 2009, just after a New Moon in Gemini (for Gemini’s communication skills to play a significant part in this particularly long 13-year cycle), breathing truth and freedom, compassion and love into every cell in our bodies.

Interestingly, this Jupiter-Neptune cycle also keys into Sun’s crosses, as well as the Solar-Lunar and Venusian cycles. Explaining briefly, a New Moon in the sign of the Twins (where the Sun is now) is where we began this influential visionary cycle that takes the world one step closer to the humanitarian Age of Aquarius. Back in 2009, just as this phase of mass interconnection and the internet morphed in to mirror the generational planet Neptune conjunct Jupiter, at 26 Aquarius, social media clicked into place with mainstream tech and A.I., to manipulate and create a group, ‘Big Data’ kind of consciousness.
 
On a personal level it might be good to recall what was going on Spring 2009: what was ‘new’ for you then? Check what a Big Wide World of inventive interconnection brought to you personally. Ideally, Divine wisdom began to open your wisdom eye for you to be able to visualise a happy and harmonious future crystal clear. Fellow astrologer Astrid Fallon calls this cycle between Jupiter and Neptune the ‘Relationship of ideals to society’s expectations’, because Jupiter provides courage and confidence, and Neptune is a generational planet that tunes into the collective undercurrents where dreams and trends can be symbolised in fashion, music, dance, film, meditation, prayer, yoga, hypnotism, mesmerism.

Through the power of the unspoken ‘Neptunian vibration' connecting to Divinity, all the above activities are also ways conscious self blends with the individual and collective unconscious. All the while sage Jupiter informs of any progress when growing the spiritual light. And Neptune merges bliss into emptiness. As I said, that is the ideal. Often Jupiter’s ability to expand is witnessed within Neptune’s world of illusion and delusion.

☆ Tracking the timing of the 2009 Jupiter-Neptune (illusory) collective wave (of developing spiritual devotion) through the hard aspects, with a First Quarter Square: June 25^th 2012, and a First Quarter Moon near the Solstice: this was a very similar celestial set-up to where we are now, bar the fact 2012 also coincided with the first of the historical seven Uranus-Pluto squares that dramatically influenced innovative social trust and control.  

The Opposition: 17 September 2015 between Neptune in Pisces and Jupiter in Virgo was within days of a Lunar Eclipse, accenting Jupiter AND fixed star Spica, representing the grain held by the Sacred Goddess.   

Now, at the Last Quarter Square, also around June Solstice but on a Full Moon, we are dealing with a three-part retrograde series that began with a 1st hit: January 13^th and a First Quarter Moon. The 2nd exact Square (with both planets retrograde) is now, at the Galactic Heart Honey Moon. A 3rd and final hard challenge is October 21^st, also on a first Quarter Moon, and just before a Halloween Full Moon, when the learning to trust one’s intuition is an intrinsic part of becoming a ‘world server’.  

Philosophical Jupiter and devoted Neptune won’t meet again April 12^th 2022, when both modern and traditional rulers of Pisces come together for the first time since March 1856! And because Jupiter is often the life-saving cavalry, and Neptune rules the oceans, I’d like to think we might be saving the wholesomeness of the planet’s water by then, by purifying the pollution we create, internally and externally. Now, wouldn’t that be a good legacy to read about 170 years from now! Hey, we did say think BIG! 

☆ Back to this Full Moon: and if you are feeling cautious, note your gut instinct and what it tells you; if it is ‘beware’, ‘back down’ and ‘take care’, then do (because Mercury and Mars are working together at the Cancer North Node indicating someone (else) in the family (also) has your best interests at heart. So heed any inner-voice which whispers promises of comfort and joy and home-made apple pie – just like Mom used to make ;) ).  

And if things don’t come up to Jupiter’s normally high ethical standards, perhaps because of too much Gemini high-jinx, we should still be optimistic, and look to the future with and open heart and a song on our lips. Only please avoid setting yourself up for disappointment by glossing over facts or believing everything you see, hear or think!  Seriously: test and question everything that is important to you with two things, faith in the universal unfolding AND an analytical mind, and events around this Full Moon will show you how you can develop confidence, especially in your spiritual path. And boost oneself for round four (of ten) of the rather trying Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn that challenges our need for certain boundaries and control.

To illuminate our path, this promising Full Moon is also SakaDawa, however, when Himalayan Buddhists celebrate the enlightenment and passing of the Buddha. As such, it’s a day for creating positive thoughts, words, and deeds and generating serious karmic brownie points. Enjoy!

The interplay of Wisdom & Compassion

Rarely do our closest celestial ‘Lights’, the Sun and Moon, partner-up at such a climactic point of the year, the December Full Moon Solstice. As such, this Full Cancer Moon truly marks a yuletide to shine and sparkle. Taking selfies with twinkling fairy lights meant to illuminate the Xmas tree may be fun, but to let the world know how bright you really are, be brave: let your inner-light glow naturally, your innate Buddha nature, that glow of goodness we were all born with. 

The Solstice Full Moon in Cancer tenders family gatherings in a cosy Christmas hideaway, somewhere with people you feel relaxed and safe enough to drop your guard to scintillate and shine. As the Full Moon rises, the season’s also change into winter in the north, summer in the south. And the Solstice Sun now comes to a wondrous ‘stand still’ for three days rising and setting in the same place before again shifting emphasis of light, for nights to become shorter in the north, longer in the south. So we, too, tend to wind down for a few days to catch up with thoughts and loved ones, before light returns (in the north) Dec 24^th-25^th.

Sol’s celestial revolution marks Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Changing season Friday 21^st December, @22:23 (GMT) (already Saturn’s day in Asia and Aus), Spirit Sun moves sign. By leaving optimistic Jupiter and communicative Mercury in charge of the Archer and forward-thinking ideals, at this Full Moon Cardinal Earth Solar Fire Festival, Sun makes a grand entrance into the business-like sphere of the ambitious Capricorn Sea-Goat, sign of concretisation and control. 

Within eighteen hours of such Solstice fanfare, @17:48 UT, on Saturday the 22^nd December (Sunday in Asia & Aus), the Moon actually culminates to Full. The fruits of whatever was set into intention December 7^th may be visible. If not, don’t worry; the ripples of good intention are still out there in the noosphere. And settle comfortably with the Moon at home in Cancer: content and radiant in the reflection of the cosmic ‘Light of Intelligence’, our Sun. This is a mega-astrological wheel-turning moment, a bit like Sun and Moon partying like its 1999, which is exactly when we last bathed under similar Solstice Full Moonbeams. But without millennial madness! Whoo-hoo! Happy Solstice Full Moon! 

Be aware that as Sun and Full Moon radiate along the cardinal axis of 0 degrees Cancer and Capricorn, a mighty powerful initiation also takes place within the individual heart-mind. Through this inner-planetary dance, Sun and Moon encourage compassion and wisdom to weave in and around the shamanic spiritual warrior’s soul and psyche.  

With an emotionally triple-charged Cancer Moon aligning to a crystallising Capricorn Sun, which is conjunct Time Lord Saturn, the celestial spotlight fixes upon the karmic connections we have and share with our soul family. All beings may be One under a Solstice Sun, enjoying love light and heat; but at this very special Full Moon during Sol’s standstill, it is quality time with families, friends, and the connections we care to nourish with our commitment, that also give added strength and cheer to a new Solar year and the birth of Sun’s ‘New Light King’. 

☆ Other heavenly influences directly associated with this stunning Solstice Full Moon include a major challenge coming from a stellium in the late degrees of Pisces: with Hygeia, Chiron and Mars, squaring-up to Sun and Moon. These three are the shamanic healing warriors, ever at the ready and banded together now to be quickly able to apply the spiritual and psychological (even physical (if called for)) band-aid, as together Chiron, Mars and Hygeia can cut to the quick and generate the love-wisdom that heals (collective) wounded emotions. So you see, it’s not just because it Christmas that forgiveness and compassion can emanate strongly now, but healing personal emotions or family feelings is well-starred. 

☆ Remaining (fairly) responsible over this Full Moon (while Luna is opposite Saturn, which is in a wide conjunct with Pluto) – just when everyone else just wants to let their hair down and forget all worries and woes, it could be one of those bizarre times when being disciplined is deeply satisfying and restorative.

While Sun and Moon connect to sobering Saturn, they are, in actual fact, in tighter (and more helpful) aspects to the wacky wild-card wizard, Uranus, planetary awakener and astral overseer: with a Trine and Sextile to Sun and Moon respectively. Sun is trine Uranus Rx in Aries, and now slowing to go forward 7^th January (just a day after the Solar Eclipse!). 

This kind of connection between Uranus and Sun and Moon can activate the third eye. It can also make us more aware and sensitive to the current collective chaos. Most recently, Uranus has been at ‘the bends’, and in hard square to the North and South Nodes, Rahu and Ketu, Dragons’ Head, Dragon’s Tail. The unpredictable Uranian revolutionary team spirit exploded into action all over the place! But with the change now of nodal axis, from Leo – Aquarius into Cancer-Capricorn, the influence of the nodal contacts widens: i.e. Solstice points, Cancer – Capricorn, are often defining moments for many, both personally and professionally. 

Currently, the North Node, Dragon’s head, Rahu is conjunct ‘First Magnitude’ ‘Fixed Star’, Procyon in Ursa Minor; this is an indication of rapid success with short-lived opportunities, a couple of weeks or three – so maybe good to make the most of whatever comes your way – quickly – no dilly dally for soul family healing.

☆ On the upside, Jupiter remains at home in Sagittarius for the next year; and is currently with communicative, but detriment Mercury, also questing and quizzing in Sagittarius. But Jupiter has all the luck, charm and blarney of the Irish, which is especially advantageous. Both Jupiter and Mercury are now conjunct a Fixed Red Star, Antares, suggesting success comes by being totally on point, however – plus a knack for good timing.

☆ Also in the Full Cancer Moon horoscope there are also no less than four planets in rulership, including Luna herself, along with Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. All planets are in the astrological domains that amplify their better qualities. The Moon in Cancer, for instance, makes us more caring; a Sagittarian Jupiter opens the mind for exploration, understanding the bigger picture, to see how lucky we are; Saturn in Capricorn recognizes our discipline and accomplishment; and Neptune still in Pisces (until 2026) accenting our connection to the oceans and our emotions.  

☆ And Love Goddess Venus in Scorpio is now free from her retrograde shadow, and ascends the heavens as the leading planet in the ‘Locomotive’ pattern of planets. With her intense kind of love, the Scorpio Venus leads stars signs, Scorpio, Sag, Capricorn, with Vesta in Aquarius, and the Shamanic Spiritual Warriors in Pisces pulling up the rear in both the Solstice and Full Moon charts. It’s like having someone who transformed their own demons steering planets through a time tunnel towards eclipse season, and a New Capricorn Moon Solar Eclipse, January 6^th.  There will 6 celestial significators in Earthy Capricorn.  It could be a geophysical shaky start to 2019. The following Full 0* Moon on the 21st is also a Super Moon**, with high (emotional) tides. Beware mood swings and weather!

There’s no denying it, for a supposedly stabilising Earth Dog year, with its Mars and Venus retrogrades, 2018 has had its share of rattles and rolls. Events and situations around the world, and in our personal lives as well, have witnessed shocking and profound loses; be it people, species, rights, privacy, job or financial status, certain things, some of which were long fought for, and we thought would always be around are slipping away. 

Collective feelings are currently so strong they plunge deeply to merge with an oceanic ‘Soul Family’. Within this soul group ripples an innate mystical undercurrent of understanding, tolerance and kindness, which flow in and out of all our stories. Maybe we will all tap into some of that innate goodness in 2019, which will come into focus with the year of the Earth Boar (starting Feb 4^th), that generally proposes a tranquil home and inner-life, while we each work diligently towards achievable personal goals.

Freedom loving hippie bandana optional as now is the time to think BIG, count blessings, and remain optimistic! Because the naturally happy-go-lucky Sagittarian Sun is conjunct its ruling planet, Jupiter, over this multifaceted Full Gemini Moon; and the cheerful, open-hearted Jupiter doubles-up any feel-good factor. Whatever this Full Moon brings, it could be way more than most of us imagine – or bargained for!

Be the magnification good or bad, grandiose or pretentious, Jupiter’s presence in his home sign certainly rubs away some of the razor-sharp edginess that surrounded events during an abrasive start to this lunation on November 7^th. Some may still feel slightly shredded or even cut down to size; but Jupiter’s grand – every 12-years – entrance into his fiery home sign, Sagittarius, heralds a time of (calculated) risks and positive imprints, helping us to look forward and stay sharp, in the kindest and most generous way. 

Magnanimous Jupiter is the Cosmic Guru, whose natural dignity affords one to keep an open-mind and be philosophical in any circumstance. Especially with the Sun in the sign of The Archer’, now opposite the Full Gemini Moon. Far-sighted Jupiter in Sagittarius helps see beyond the dualistic thinking of fame and shame, praise and blame, loss or gain, pain and joy; and instead Sagittarius draws back the arrow in his bow to aim high and single-pointedly concentrate upon verity, ethics, and wisdom, thereby revealing much to be grateful for.  

All in all, Jupiter with the Sun in Sagittarius marks the start of a helpful 12-month cycle. Check your own horoscope to see which area Sagittarius lies, and note where in the sphere of your life you can start to expect to see expansion and growth – and potential success - and where all will be well, as long as any unrealistic expectation to any outcome is kept in check. 

When thunder-bolt vajra-wielding Jupiter, as King of Olympus, is next to the Sun, the energy of the moment can be electrifyingly awesome (and I don’t use that word lightly). But beware, Jupiter can also inflate the negative. As easily as the Sun with Jupiter highlights personal integrity and massively positive spiritual influences based on higher principles, truth and freedom; it can also accentuate overinflated egos based on prideful puffed-up self-belief. So best watch-out and note how Jupiter in association with any planet tends to magnify whatever that planet symbolises. 

As the Spirit of Sun now highlights ego, identity or persona, those with Full Moon birthdays have every right to be hopeful. But there is also a warning to heed: beware of overstretching in more ways than one. Remember that no one is infallible and mistakes can be made. Big ones – especially if one pompously oversteps the mark, so please take note. 

To add thrills and spills and more than a peppering of restlessness to the Full Gemini Moon, bolshie Mars is in hard aspect within a tight ‘Mutable T-square’ to both Sun and Moon. In fact, before culmination both Sun and Moon apply the tense and challenging T-square. Moon and Mars are first to escalate tension and square up to whatever challenge you are currently facing; swiftly followed by the Sun to Mars on the 26^th, just as the Full Moon is waning. There is little doubt, this is a fast, omnidirectional, and quickly changing Full Gemini Moon – a Full Moon that could inherently activate our natural wisdom and clear-light mind.  

How we think and what we say is always accented with Gemini, the sign of the twins. It’s interesting that for two reasons, even while the celestial messenger is retrograde, that Mercury plays an integral up-front part during this Full Gemini Moon ‘T-Square’. One is how the mind-motivating planet Mercury is the ruler of Gemini, the sign that contributes constantly moving variables to the events around this Full Moon. The other reason is that during a Mutable Square (in this case Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces), it is quick-thinking Mercury that rises to the occasion to now become the agent of change – the messenger, negotiator and envoy who carries a magical caduceus wand, which can be waved in the direction where healing is needed.  

A three-week Mercury retrograde period reminds us that learning from the past is just as important as re-working the present (with current plans or ideas that could relate to academia, publication, spirituality or long-distant travel), all-the-while keeping an eye fixed upon a brighter future. Because Mercury is currently close to Jupiter, the key to ‘unlocking’ current problems is possibly found all the way back to events and situations related to last summer, which may have been just as confusing then as they are now. The talkative Gemini Moon influencing the retrograde Mercury encourages honest debate, especially now through Jupiter’s wider lens, looking at situations with an honest eye at facts and figures and potentially wild ideas. Again, a warning: to not indulge the hot air of unhelpful gossip that harms all parties, the gossiper and the gossiped.

Back in the summer (specifically late July-August, during a mighty strong eclipse), Mercury formed a triple closing square to Jupiter. At the time the munificent Jupiter and the celestial communicator urged us to look at the personal karma we can accidentally create; and how, by using our own unique gifts and talents (whatever they may be) we can recover to make a the world all right again – if not better than before. So, for the second Mercury retrograde in a row, Mercury is with Jupiter again; and we may be looking at how to share those personal gifts, as skills or teaching tools, particularly with those we have intimate connections, in order to power-share and reveal previously hidden information.

Whenever Mercury and Jupiter connect, there’s a tendency to over think (which can harm the body – especially the spleen); or we think we can do or deliver more than we personally can. Indeed, while its good to now stretch the imagination to far horizons – and mark the 27^th November and December 21^st as excellent dates to brainstorm with your chosen trusted few – be aware of making promises one cannot deliver. If you do take on too much, then be reasonable and recognise how it’s also human nature to let certain points fall away from our to-do lists, as we prioritise and select what we can realistically achieve with all the ‘big data’ at our fingertips that could lead to an information overload. 

Making sure we have the correct view or perspective is essential during this Mercury retrograde. Give yourself headspace if you feel that its needed. An open road can feed the Spirit. Going from 13° Sagittarius all the way back to 27° Scorpio, we could find ourselves striving for truth whilst at the same time delving into the unknown. Great for sorting out issues of trust and secret powers! But still you’re advised to triple check travel information or tax forms. Mercury will go forward 7th December, just in time to put much into place for the next, Solstice, Full Moon and 2019, as the NY begins with a philosophical Mercury pondering the bigger picture and higher truths.

Other astrological factors to consider during this Full Moon are:

   1)  An ‘out-of-element’ Grand Trine (three planets 120°apart), between the Sagittarian Sun and Jupiter, with the newly opened karmic gates of the Cancer North Node (and Capricorn South Node); plus the retrograde Shamanic Chiron, now back in watery Pisces. Two in Fire (Sun & Jupiter) and two significators are in Water, suggesting the flow of the collective is towards healing the emotionally and physically wounded. Thoughts and prayers go out now to all those affected by fire, flood and fear.

   2)  A powerful ‘Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun’ sees the Nodal Axis of the Cancer and Capricorn open up karmic gates, while in square up to the long-lasting Venus-Uranus opposition, in Libra and Aries respectively; this Venus Uranus opposition has been a three-month long aspect, but is now coming to an end Dec 1^st. The Cancer-Capricorn alignment tends to delineate foundations and boundaries. This is good to bear in mind as the opposition between the Love Goddess Venus and liberating Uranus often brings up issues of freedom and closeness; in as much as when we get close to someone, an idea, or ideal, we can often, for whatever reason, shun any warmth, security, or familiarity because we sense (rightly or wrongly) we are being fenced in, or owned, or that by getting too close we show others who we really are – revealing a certain vulnerability we may care not to expose. It’s a tricky one. Primarily because love requires the freedom for others to be who they really are. If we try and hold onto to those who demand freedom then we essentially crush whatever friendship or nearness we had. Know that if love hurts, it isn’t love: “Love can never possess. Love is giving freedom to another. Love is an unconditional gift. It is not a bargain” (Osho)

   3)  A Mystic Rectangle creates practical magic between the Sun/Jupiter, in trine to the Cancer North Node, but in sextile to the Capricorn South Node; and the Gemini Moon in trine to the Capricorn South Node but in sextile to the North Node. Within this enchanting pattern are tools to help generate new ideas and spiritual strategies that can release any karmic baggage that holds you back from being truly creative.

   4)  Lastly, a conjunction forming between the phantasmagorical Piscean Mars and Neptune is worth mentioning now, even though it isn’t exact until the New Sagittarius Moon, Dec 7^th. This is because the imagination is stimulated, not to mention the best and most outrageous parties often happen when the Sun is in Sagittarius, when things can get delightfully psychedelic. Have fun by all means, but beware any toxicity (drugs or alcohol), as Mars is also a major part of the afore mentioned Mutable T-Square with Saggie Sun and Gemini Moon. Also watch out for the superficial and shallow. In Pisces, Mars heralds the spiritual warrior who brings light into the world with prayer and poetry, paint or prose. It’s an extremely sensitive position for Mars. Just as one can now radiate an inner authentic presence, escapist tendencies can also come to the fore, but so too can the power of prayer to bring about magic and miracles.
