☼ SOLstice June 21st 2015 ☼ ~. Cancer Ingress

☆•*¨*•.¸¸☾ Happy ☼ Solstice ☽¸¸.•*¨*•☆
June 21st SUNday @17:38bst, the Wood Goat year's SOLstice (Summer in the North, Winter in the South) is sealed with a truly stunning heavenly alignment combining the sensitive Moon, Love Goddess Venus, and Sacred Guru Jupiter with heroic fixed star Regulus. In Leo, the sign ruled by the Sun; this is a most strengthening and beneficial, heart-centred planetary pattern that bestows passion, artistic creativity, and faith in a higher, universal love.
The ability to forgive, be generous and show compassion, and actually embody the healing power of love is so symbolic of the night sky's union of the brightest and most beautiful. Lord Buddha once said “Hatred does not cease through hatred at any time. Hatred ceases through love. This is an unalterable law.” And these three planets currently together do give the potential to open the heart-mind to a Divine and playful love which generates the optimism to maintain an enthusiastic joy - for life and for love. Practice using loving kindness now within less desirable situations or on difficult emotions, and by Wednesday's first quarter Moon, the consequence of current actions (in body/speech/mind) could be even more beneficial.
Have a lovely Solstice SUNday everyone! with ℒℴѵℯ_/✿\_

☽☼ ☾ ♊ Solstice New Moon ~> Tuesday 16th June @15:05UT

☼ ☾ As holy month Sakadawa closes, Tuesday's dynamic New Solstice Moon provides one of the most lively astrological lunations of the year. Not only is it Solstice next weekend – one of the year’s two major turning points, and a time of friendly gathering and celebration, there’s also a seriously exciting opening between generous and optimistic Jupiter and altruistic Uranus (22nd June), which will remain in big, visionary effect until the end of July.

☼ ☾ ♂  Also at this New Moon, Spirit Sun and strongman, passionate and fiery Mars will conjoin Luna, to be directly opposite the Galactic Centre, at 25 Gemini, in a part of the sky known to the ancients as ‘Heaven’s furrow’. This suggests our ancestors recognized a fertile ripple in the spacetime field, within which there’s the potential to imbibe pure Galactic light frequencies that help to nurture, feed the soul and grow, physically as well as spiritually.

Together, with the Moon and Mars aligned, SOL’s light of consciousness now tunes each individual into our core (galactic) values to the plant seeds of right action that accompany Gemini’s right speech and right mindfulness. The challenge, it would seem, is in setting and keeping the right Bodhisattva intention.  Best familiarise one's self with positive motivation to stay on track, as Mars can aggravate and antagonize the Monkey Mind to rise in anger (and we all know what that means: a tragic loss in karmic merit!).

☿ ♊~> Meanwhile a direct infomaniac Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, now moves away from its perfectly imperfect opposition to a retrograde Saturn, which gave form and finalisation to certain ideas.  Mercury only then squares nebulous Neptune – again, on the 23rd, to make things appear less formal and more formless, (Fyi: Sat-SQ-Nep is a major theme later in the year – so what is discussed/evolved/communicated now, can re-emerge again, late Autumn).

Curious Gemini questions the duality of everything and nothing, Samsara and Nirvana, form and formless, and how can it all exist side by side. Events surrounding this Solstice period provide insights into understanding what's real and what is illusion, i.e. what kind of karma we are creating, even when believing our often distorted sense perceptions?

So consider carefully, at this magic moment of the Great Galactic Yang, what would we, as a collective, really like to see growing now in ‘Heaven’s Furrow’?  First, though, before we quantum leap into singularity, or in and out of parallel universes, we may need to take stock of this one and stop deceiving ourselves, and/or others, and see the truth for what it is: All is Oneness in the spaciousness of beauty, LOVE, and light.

Enjoy! ~> Happy New Moon & Summer/Winter Solstice everyone _/\_  with ℒℴѵℯ and thanks for sharing and to unknown artist for glorious artwork  ॐ__/❤\__ ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸❤✫

SakaDawa ~> 28/29th May New Moon in Gemni

A New Gemini Moon, during the year of the dynamic Green Wood Horse, on the 28th/29th May at 18:40UT, sees the start of a lunar cycle when Himalayan Buddhists celebrate ‘SakaDawa’, and the birth, enlightenment and paranirvana of Gautama Sakyamuni Buddha. Throughout this next lunation, karma is multiplied 100x. Creating merit is encouraged. Karma is further multiplied 100billion x at the Saka Dawa Full Sagittarius Moon, bringing teachings to and from the cosmic Heart Guru.

Whatever is set into motion with this New Moon cycle, spiritual practice or healing project, or romance even, is celestially sealed with three incredibly optimistic astral markers, creating a wave of powerful cosmic energy; firstly with the sacred Six Pointed Earth-Water Star ✡ on the 5th June; culminating with the blessed festival of SakaDawa ۞ at Full Moon 13th June; and for magically Divine Feminine Solar-Luna interaction, with a last quarter waning Dakini moon at Summer/Winter Solstice ☼ June 21/22nd, bringing this holy lunation around full bliss!

Also, at this start of SakaDawa lunation, Gemini Sun/Moon/Healing Goddess Hygeia are in hard square to compassionate Neptune in Pisces, to learn how to heal others with kindness and consideration. By the end of this lunar cycle (June 27th) Neptune then makes a much better aspect and trineS the Cancer Sun/Moon. Generally speaking, this shift from tough aspect to easy makes this a month of potential peak blissful experiences, particularly when surrendering in devotion, to be of spiritual service for the greater good in the world. ॐ_/\_

Wishing for all beings to reach enlightment with a teaching from Verse 29 from Atisha's ‘Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment',"I shall not be eager to reach enlightenment in the quickest way, but shall stay behind till the very end for the sake of a single being."

Many thanks for Chenrezig Tangka illustration to Norbulinka ॐ_/\_

✧ Miracles _/♥\_ day 7 & 8 (of 15) ~> March 9th

On the 7th day the Buddha created dharma wheel connections; and thunder on the 8th day frightened those who had no faith to flee, so only those who had trust in the Buddha remained. The gods then showered them with flowers. *•.¸(*•.¸♥¸.•*´)¸.•*´

_/☆ \_ Interestingly, from the first day until the 8th (from New Moon to 1st Quarter) Buddha’s miracles are known as ‘competition days’, in as much as Gautama Buddha rose to challenges set by other doctrines. The days 8-15 (of the lunar cycle, from 1st quarter to Full Moon) are non-competitive. The day of seed's action, i.e. the 1st dayS of the New Moon are seen as competitive because the Spring seed requires dynamic courage - as well as the right conditions - to break through it's pod and sprout through various obstacles, to expand, grow, and struggle to establish earthy roots that enable it to reach up into the LoveLight. In the second part of a lunar cycle, the Moon's reflection of Sunlight is brighter and a plant is more easily established, so it can grow in both, during the day and at night, blossoming with fulfillment during the Full Moon, 16thMarch.

☆ Today's Moon in Cancer is also approaching a conjunction with Jupiter, the Cosmic Guru. The star you see next to the Moon tonight is actually Jupiter, with both at the center of the Summer Circle (fixed stars). The sign Cancer marks the Summer Solstice, on June 21st, and the exalted Jupiter in Cancer provides a perspective; in the sign of the tenacious Crab, both the emotional Moon and Jupiter now highlight security and the nurturing one receives from family as well as teachers. Note that today/tonight/tomorrow could provide insight as to what exactly you are cultivating: faith, for instance, or trust, family or an education - and whatever it is that is growing in the longer scheme of things, this weekend is for getting a better idea of the shape it will take in order to culminate by the Summer SOLlstice. *•.¸(*•.¸♥¸.•*´)¸.•*´

◯ Full Capricorn Super Moon & the Solstice Sun ~> June 2013

☼ ☾ The full Super Moon on Sunday @12:31pmBST (6:31amEST) is at 2Capricorn, accenting the brilliant Solstice Sun, as it stands resplendent with generous and optimistic Jupiter. The Full Super Moon is indeed astrologically super, as it also brings into practical play a rare ‘Kite’ formation that includes the overwhelming power and fluidity of the ‘Grand Water Trine’; thus it is the Moon, i.e. ‘the people’, our emotions, our (vibe) family, and our needs, that are all now playing a pivotal role as catalyst for crystallising important ideas, events, situations, as well as enabling one to embody the compassion, care & perception indicated by this immensely important and long lasting Grand Water Trine.

Note how the summer’s perceptive and intuitive Grand Water Trine lasts until early September; Water and its qualities of purifying and nurturing will continue to be a theme throughout the summer. Notwithstanding a decade of rainy summers forecast in Britain, planets in the Water element make it easy to tune into a collective undercurrent; feelings that sense a transformation in the making. And it is the Spirit of the Solstice Sun which now seals this magical configuration that works on many emotional levels; being in exact trine to the perceptive Saturn in Scorpio AND watery Neptune in Pisces on the 26th June (same day Jupiter goes into Cancer, and Mercury goes retro in Cancer, advising us to reconsider family and security).

This Water triplicity, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, manifests at its highest vibration as compassion with Neptune/Chiron in Pisces, perception with Saturn in Scorpio’s laser-like insight, and caring Cancer, with Sun, Venus, Mercury, soon to be joined by expansive Jupiter, who is exalted in Cancer.

From the Buddhist perspective we could say this a summer of developing a connection between ‘Maitri’ (Metta), loving kindness (symbolised by Cancer, caring as a mother loves her child), ‘Karuna’, compassion when life is in the flow of change is Pisces; and Saturn in Scorpio, developing the Bodhisattva spirit with Vipassanna, the special penetrative insight into the true nature of reality– all of which can be enhanced by specific meditative techniques that help us to put compassion into action.

The Water trine can therefore enhance prayer, meditation and all work with unseen energies with positive affect. In light of this please send love & healing prayers to Northern India where the Temple town near the source of the sacred Ganges has been flooded and mountain tsunamied: many people have died and are still missing; Also Calgary in Northern Canada, where 100,000 people have been forced to evacuate due to flooding.

Thank you & thanks for sharing. _/♥\_

_/☼\_ One Love under the Solstice Sun ~> June 2013

Spirit Sun _/☼\_ One Love  One Heart

June 21st @6:04BST ~> Happy Solstice!

Sun stands still for three days as it changes its emphasis of light during the longest day in the north & and the longest night in the south. Like the gap in between breaths in mediation, our Solstice Sun now rests in a sacred space of spiritual Oneness, radiating the blessings of light, warmth and consciousness, as the Cosmic Wheel turns towards a Super Full Moon on SUNday 23rd _/♥\_

✡ Medicine Buddha & a Six-pointed Star ~> June 2013

☼ ~✶~☽ An extraordinary pattern dominated this lunation's Medicine Buddha Moon, a six-pointed star involving two interlocking triangles: one is the summer’s Grand Trine in Water, the other a fleeting Grand Earth Trine, made all the more stable with a first quarter Moon in Virgo. This formidable feminine formation implies we are already intuitively aware of the healing needed within the body, as well as with our environment; the restorative Virgo Moon is also opposite shamanic healer, Chiron, quickly overcoming inhibited emotion, enabling the expression of needs and feelings in a practical manner.

A most valuable healing factor is to note how the current Gemini Sun/Jupiter conjunction highlights bamboozle hoop-la and hysteria, as well as an influx of important information. Knowing one’s connection to joy and beauty is vital in being able to maintain the healthy psyche that stops one from falling for any superficial hype, and encourages access to our natural wisdom, sensitivity, and intuition.

~> The cosmic wheel turns, and Solstice full SuperMoon (Sunday 23rd @14:32BST) emphasizes the cosmic fire that flows from the heart of the Solstice Sun, as well as the mighty strength of the Grand Water Trine. The mind’s concern is with altruistic emotion and the Divine natural law. It is also when the highest tides of the year will be experienced. This is one of the year’s major turning points and, while temperaments can change and fluctuate, the potential for crystallising ideas into form is strong.

Sky Dancing Dakini Day! ~> June 2nd/3rd 2013

An airy Gemini Sun makes a harmonious aspect to the emotive Moon, in autonomous Aries. Together they generate a burning passion for the spiritual warrior to communicate and act upon thoughts seemingly carried by the wind.

Curious Gemini stimulates the enquiring mind to cruise the information highway and to transmit news, ideas, and knowledge. Moon in dynamic Aries quickly assimilates such information, so that how we feel about important issues can be swiftly assessed, synthesised and acted upon before next weekend’s Gemini New Moon, June 8th.

Interestingly, both spirit Sun and the fiery, living-in-the-moment Aries Moon are now in a good strong aspect to liberating Uranus, where ‘The Light’s’ highest vibration is for all beings to be treated as equal. Thus the Gemini sky-like mind spirals towards the end of this lunation with a feminine guiding hand that senses the need for personal independence and freedom, be that a freedom to think or worship, or from war, suffering or hunger. And thus has a cause to support.

Even with a helpful aspect, emotions can be powerful. So while Uranus dictates primitive emotion such as anger and selfishness are unhealthy and obstructive – i.e. always thinking of I, me and mine, it may be the seed for causing potential harm to others, as well as be bad for the heart; the caution here is to avoid thoughtless whim and sudden martial exploits on impulse. Uranus is the Hierarchical ruler of Aries: self-centred attitude can certainly be directed to developing personal strength, but using this might of individual volition for an altruistic cause and the benefits of others is the action of mindful warrior of the heart, not a domineering dictator.

Happily, this Summer’s delightful Grand Water Trine is now shaping up to direct the mind-stream to be in one’s flow: to be caring, perceptive and compassionate. This deeply sensitive Grand Trine sets the tone for the coming months, getting extra encouragement at the new Moon, as well as at another powerful Solstice Full SuperMoon (the 2nd Full SuperMoon in a row of three!).

Last Quarter Healing Tara Moon in Aquarius ~> May 2013

This last quarter Green Goddess Tara Moon in airy Aquarius opens the mind to the zany, wild and innovative. Keep eyes open to opportunity –especially the wisdom eye! ;) _/✿\_

This healing Moon is in a tight ‘T-square’ to the fertile Sun/Mars opposition to slow-moving Saturn, reflecting a slow-to-start spring (in the Northern hemisphere). Indeed, its only 6 weeks to Summer Solstice, when Saturn at last reaches the degree at which he begins to go forward, in early July. Meanwhile, patience when taking care of the heart-mind and soul, through diligent self-supporting work and overcoming obstacles, is as important as seeing where one stands and what motivates us in a group situation, even if only shooting the breeze with loyal friends. Connecting with others today, such as the cyber tribe or real life sangha, can even clarify and organise ideas and thoughts which facilitate personal change, as well as help generate (and employ) the altruistic intention, to be of benefit to all beings.

His Holiness, the Dalai Lama says "With a selfish attitude, one’s self is important, and others are not so important. According to Shantideva's advice, a technique to help in turning this attitude around is to imagine - in front of yourself as an unbiased observer - your own selfish self on one side and a limited number of other beings on the other side - ten, fifty, or a hundred. On one side is your proud, selfish self, and on the other side is a group of poor, needy people. You are, in effect, in the middle - as an unbiased, third person. Now, judge. Is this one, single, selfish person more important? Or is the group of people more important? Think. Will you join this side or that side? Naturally, if you are a real human being, your heart will go with the group because the number is greater and they are more needy. The other one is just a single person, proud and stupid. Your feeling naturally goes with the group. By thinking in this way, selfishness gradually decreases, and respect of others grows. This is the way to practice."

Heart Star Solstice June 2012

Time now to tune into the unconditional warmth and clear light of heaven's inner radiance, feed the Spirit, and and shine like the Sun _(♥)_.•✩¨¯☼:) Our Heart Star, the Sun, is at standstill, and the cosmic wheel of light is poised to turn. Whichever part of the world you are, in the north where summer Sun is high, or south where winter Sun is low, Solstice marks a change of direction, and is when clans traditionally gather to affirm heartfelt connections.

This Solstice Sun makes a magical trine aspect to both manifesting Saturn and spiriutal Neptune, helping one to realise dreams, as well as stabilise meditation practice.

Happy Solstice! __/♥\__ .•✩¨¯`•☆٠.•..•¨*☽☀★

A new moon commenced just before Solstice and upon reflection, it ended what was a most memorable month with eclipses and the Venus transit, which events in our life surely mirror.

♥ Venus governs Libra, where Saturn is exalted. Saturn has been retrograde throughout the period, for the past four months, working on the heart and learning to love from the wisdom gained from life’s harder lessons. Saturn is soon to be going forward on Tuesday 26th, after Solstice, a New Moon and Venus also slowing down to station and  go forward on the 28th June. Hooray :) ♥

Centred at the heart and in relationship, a Libran Saturn at station to go forward is a very powerful ‘station’, in as much as it has the potential to hone-in upon karmic core-issues and go forward in peace, love and unity. Check 22 degrees Libra in your chart and see where you are currently showing considerable discipline by learning to love .  And check 7 degrees Gemini as to where self-love and self-appreciation has been processed.

Before the 26th, however, we encounter the first of SEVEN Uranus Pluto squares on June 24th. Having its roots in the 60's, this association between Uranus and Pluto is now at the opening square of potentially progressive, individually and collectively, ground-breaking innovation. Think back to the idealistic flower-power of the 60's, during the time of free-spirits, women's liberation, and the birth of the computer. Back then we also realised how Earth (her flora and fauna and humanity) needs healing. This is not an easy transit, but one of a series of sudden transformations that require co-operation and helpful forward-thinking from all sides, from those in authority as well as you and me, especially if we are to transform the currently destructive unequal power structures. There is also another cycle to consider: the Saturn Pluto conjunction in Libra which began in the early 80's; at its most exalted expression fairness in control is the only way to maintain balance, peace, and unity.

♥ ☆ ♥ Perfecting the Heart Essence on the path to Freedom ♥ ☆ ♥ Full Moon July 2010

Every Full Moon is special. As the emotional Moon reflects the light of the Sun, together they illuminate with lucid clarity. Yet each moon is different as Sun and Moon course through the zodiac, moving signs, connecting to other wandering planets to make each moment in time distinctly unique. Some Moons are more unique than others. And this one accents highly positive cosmic connections, the likes of which I never seen before, because they herald from way beyond our solar system; so while you are moon bathing under tonight’s full moon, take a moment to absorb some of this Full Moon in freedom-loving Aquarius’ more spacey qualities.

At 2:37am BST the Moon will be at 3 degrees of friendly Aquarius, opposite the bright Leo Sun. Leo represents our generous spirit - the perfection of the heart essence, while group-orientated Aquarius signifies the altruistic mind, as well as social networking and technology. The axis where these two signs align across an individual’s horoscope indicate the ways head and heart align to bring about love and romance, networking friendships and helpful alliances.

Incredibly, the Full Moon in Aquarius (on Monday 26th @ 2:27 British summer time) is actually on the very same degree from whence in the heavens the largest ever burst of gamma rays originated, arriving on planet Earth on this Summer Solstice, even knocking out Nasa’s telescope. Could this very high frequency resonance be some kind of cosmic nuclear pulsation that helps to elevate consciousness and irradiate collective density?

♥ ☆ ♥ The story of the gamma ray is here:
Doubly amazing, this week saw another Leo Sun – Moon in space-age Aquarius synchronicity, as a massive Sun beaming 300 times more light than ours was discovered along the same marker of the ecliptic (the path of the Sun) as this Full Moon. It’s an extraordinary coincidence how these two remarkable events should share the same degrees as the Full Moon; as in mundane astrology the Moon represents the people, and in hopeful Aquarius it indicates we can now embrace the future in the selfless spirit of heart felt co-operation, to co-create our global humanity where all beings can find happiness.
♥ ☆ ♥ Watch the space voyage to another sun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUMIzrRKSY8

Since the advent of a massively rare configuration of planets lined up this year as the ‘Cardinal Cross of the Spiritual Sun’, we’ve had encouragement from the cosmos to confirm (and assist) our spiritual evolution;  this full moon links up rather nicely with the 'T square' made by Saturn, Uranus/Jupiter and Pluto in the Cardinal Cross, assisting in making postitive lasting changes. So the question remains: are we ready to raise our vibration and generate a magnanimous loving heart? Because the Universe seems to signal that we are.

Illuminating Spirit ~ ☼ ~ Summer Solstice & Lunar Eclipse 2010

In the language of the Spiritual Warrior, or even the modern Light Worker, the Sun is referred to as ‘The Great Illuminator’ or ‘The Light of intelligence’ and ‘the Spiritual Centre’ which freely radiates warmth, love and light, in which, in the right proportions, all life thrives. The Sun, it has also been postulated, even has a consciousness of its own. Indeed, in the horoscope, we note how the Sun symbolises personal consciousness: for the Sun in astrology is individual identity central to one’s being, determining who we are growing into (which can take a lifetime), and the dominant issues we are processing and learning, in this life; Yang in quality, the Sun is also authority, ego, father and boss.

I was reminded, just before I did my solstice practice, that when the Sun is at standstill, it is creating a 'gap', like 'the gap' in meditation that happens inbetween the out breath and the in, the pause in which we rest that sometimes makes it seem like we are in Samadhi - until we realise that we are in that gap, and then of course we headlong back into Samsara! Such is the nature of mind.
The Sun is also central in Buddhist thangka paintings, where we view many a deity beaming love-light seated upon a Sun disc; in Tantric meditation we imagine some deities seated upon a Sun disc, who are then placed at our heart, so that we, too, can learn to radiate unconditional loving kindness and compassion – just like the actual Sun. In astrology, the physical heart is also ruled by the Sun, mirroring how the Sun is at the heart of our solar system. Esoterically speaking, the Sun has a triple function: a physical form, as a heart centre, and spiritual illuminator. When we mindfully raise our vibration and encourage our own Sun to radiate from the spiritual centre, we overcome ego’s desire and aversion to realise Divine consciousness as an awareness of personal Unity with the enlightened source – and bask in our own luminous golden wonder, so to speak.

Summer makes everyone smile, and with light heart we witness the Sun peak at its highest point in the sky in the northern hemisphere, at 12:28 British Summer Time, on Monday the 21st (-5EDT). The word Sol comes from Latin, for Sun, while ‘stice’ means to ‘stand still’. For the next couple days the Sun stands at its zenith, before heading south again shortening the days in northern skies.

Yet this is no ordinary Solstice. At this 2010 turning point, the Sun is in an almost perfect planetary pattern, a rare Cardinal Cross, which in esoteric astrology is called The Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun’, suggesting many are awakening to the fiery heart of love as a means to understanding self in relation to the world, communicating in a manner more considerate of others. This Cross has building for a while now (most of 2010), getting more intensely ‘connected’ over these past few weeks, pointing to the dramatic change which brings all kinds of different paths together, and uniting people, things and ideas, to present new openings which enable one to regain balance through action, stability through transformation, awareness through unity.

Although this cross is made up of the four cardinal signs, Aries (where Jupiter & Uranus are), Cancer (Sun), Virgo/Libra (Saturn), Capricorn (Pluto & Ceres), everyone will feel it, because the transpersonal and generational planets are involved. Because it is (mostly) Cardinal in quality, it is a Cross which indicates movement - dynamic action with spiritual intent. The solar light of the solstice Spiritual Sun continues to radiate power and strength over the coming weeks, with influential upcoming eclipses. The full Moon lunar eclipse on the 26th June almost perfects the Cardinal Cross (But not quite! That will happen when Saturn moves back into lovely Libra, and will be exact when the moon Moves into Cancer (which it rules) on Aug 6th (when the Sun will be in Leo, which it also rules, but as Leo is a fixed sign, it will not be in the Cardinal Cross formation).

Why this upcoming Solstice and Full Moon are strong is because during eclipses, Lunar on June 26th, and solar July 11th, we encounter major trigger points for earth changes (and being only one or two degrees out of exact sign on a powerful planetary alignement is nothing in the greater scheme of things) making this a very potent celestial Cross formation (and much more powerful than January's eclipses) and events around it are likely to demand action.

There is also another cosmic Solstice formation, a Grand Air Trine, between communicative Mercury at home in Gemini, the sensitive Moon in Libra, sign of balance, and spiritual Neptune in the altruistic and intellectual sign of  Aquarius. This is a forceful energy that can condition consciousness: the Buddha said ‘what we think we become’ – an apt thought to hold in mind during the Sun’s high point. It may take a while to see the results of any subjective intent.  While this formation holds solstice, when the Moon is full on the 26th, and conjunct powerful Pluto, la Luna activates a mighty magical transformation, which the Spiritual Warrior can harness, and indicate the kind of direction we need to take - giving ourself the next eighteen years to complete the task.

Wtih a flow of golden solar nectar from the angelic messenger, the Sun/Mercury conjunction, to the receptive full Moon eclipse and oceanic Neptune conjunct Chiron, suggests we can even heal the oceans - as well as our collective emotions. The responsive Moon rules water, and is remains in good aspect to Neptune which governs deep seas, in Aquarius initiating the focus of Universal Mind. This is spiritual service: As Masaru Emoto advises as part of the healing, we need to let the water know we love it, and ask for forgiveness.

In the Tibetan tradition, this Solstice happens to also be Guru Rinpoche Day, a day of celebrating our connection to the Guru (within). Its not always like this, as it is for the Christian St John on a set day. Guru Rinpoche day moves around the moon. Also called Padmasambhava, Guru Rinpoche is the all-powerful male presence we invoke to help overcome obstacles, as he is said to be the second Buddha, protector and most accomplished yogi. We can all upon this strong male active yang principle at any time, not just for solstice. Should you feel inclinded to sing his mantra while Sun Dancing with the Moon weave, he can help one to centre and overcome all kinds of hurdles “Om Vajra Guru Pemma Siddhi Hung”

Solstice Sun with Vesta ~ Ingniting Inner light

Summer solstice (in our Northern hemisphere) is traditionally a time of festivity as the Sun is at ‘stand still’ high in the sky at its’ zenith. As in days of yore, traditional communal solstice fire festivals honour the life force of our solar system, the Sun. By acknowledging the power of the life-giving Sun, we also show respect to our inner essence, Spirit, otherwise known as the Divine, which we could also call conscious intuitive awareness, at one with the radiant universe.
We’re lucky this year’s longest day, marking the entry of the Sun into Cancer, symbol of home and family, happens over the weekend; celebrating with loved ones needn’t wipe out the rest of the week. The Sun is with the asteroid Vesta, who keeps home fires burning and adds a certain spark to the proceedings. Even so, this is no ordinary Solstice: strength is also in its’ subtlety as the Sun opposes Pluto in Capricorn, planet of complete rejuvenation, urging for total renewal as if it were a matter of survival. With Sun, Vesta & Pluto in alignment, the celestial focus is upon inviting the inner Light of Consciousness to infuse courage, faith and stamina to affect positive self-renewal and a rebirth of the human spirit.

In order for transformative Pluto to assist our makeover, we need to ‘let go’ of a deeply engrained part of our being, such as obsession, fear or desire that no longer serves our highest evolutionary good. And this may not be an easy a task to undertake, as to cut away from said fixation may well seem akin to ego-death. In the Buddhist sense, death is only part of cyclic existence. Death is not the end, though, only a change as we flow through the Samsaric Ocean. Renewing life is the most significant transmutation we make. When we place our trust in faith, love, and peace of mind, doubts and fear of death melt into the void. Ego, on the other hand, is the part of our being that thrives on pointless drama, anger, competition and lust; all aspects of the psyche that generate conflict, dread and panic, which kick and scream all the way to the final resting place. Endings can be admittedly difficult, as change makes us look at ourselves in the raw and send us reeling into shadow mode. Yet it is from that shaded place where we can see the light of creativity and inspiration. So in the midst of Solstice celebration a controlled sense of calm and sensitivity to what may initially seem like a sacrifice, such as breaking an ingrained negative habit, changing the way we think or feel about something or someone, can actually be an awakening to light any psychological or spiritual load and breathe new life into any flagging spirit.

Interestingly, the further we look outside ourselves the deeper within we go, to reach more subtle dimensions of self in relation to spirit. A New Cancer Moon on the 22nd compounds the need for emotional support, where one is able to express how it feels during times of transformation. Venus and Mars cosy up to each other too; so all in all, this Solstice point could be a period of very sexy self-improvement. Enjoy & Happy Solstice!
