☼☾ Solstice Full Moon 0°49’ Cancer 2018 ☽☼

☆•*¨*•.¸¸☼☾ Solstice Full Moon 0°49’ Cancer ☽☼¸¸.•*¨*•☆
The interplay of Wisdom & Compassion
Rarely do our closest celestial ‘Lights’, the Sun and Moon, partner-up at such a climactic point of the year, the December Full Moon Solstice. As such, this Full Cancer Moon truly marks a yuletide to shine and sparkle. Taking selfies with twinkling fairy lights meant to illuminate the Xmas tree may be fun, but to let the world know how bright you really are, be brave: let your inner-light glow naturally, your innate Buddha nature, that glow of goodness we were all born with.

The Solstice Full Moon in Cancer tenders family gatherings in a cosy Christmas hideaway, somewhere with people you feel relaxed and safe enough to drop your guard to scintillate and shine. As the Full Moon rises, the season’s also change into winter in the north, summer in the south. And the Solstice Sun now comes to a wondrous ‘stand still’ for three days rising and setting in the same place before again shifting emphasis of light, for nights to become shorter in the north, longer in the south. So we, too, tend to wind down for a few days to catch up with thoughts and loved ones, before light returns (in the north) Dec 24th-25th.

Sol’s celestial revolution marks Earth’s orbit around the Sun. Changing season Friday 21st December, @22:23 (GMT) (already Saturn’s day in Asia and Aus), Spirit Sun moves sign. By leaving optimistic Jupiter and communicative Mercury in charge of the Archer and forward-thinking ideals, at this Full Moon Cardinal Earth Solar Fire Festival, Sun makes a grand entrance into the business-like sphere of the ambitious Capricorn Sea-Goat, sign of concretisation and control.

Within eighteen hours of such Solstice fanfare, @17:48 UT, on Saturday the 22nd December (Sunday in Asia & Aus), the Moon actually culminates to Full. The fruits of whatever was set into intention December 7th may be visible. If not, don’t worry; the ripples of good intention are still out there in the noosphere. And settle comfortably with the Moon at home in Cancer: content and radiant in the reflection of the cosmic ‘Light of Intelligence’, our Sun. This is a mega-astrological wheel-turning moment, a bit like Sun and Moon partying like its 1999, which is exactly when we last bathed under similar Solstice Full Moonbeams. But without millennial madness! Whoo-hoo! Happy Solstice Full Moon!

Be aware that as Sun and Full Moon radiate along the cardinal axis of 0 degrees Cancer and Capricorn, a mighty powerful initiation also takes place within the individual heart-mind. Through this inner-planetary dance, Sun and Moon encourage compassion and wisdom to weave in and around the shamanic spiritual warrior’s soul and psyche.

With an emotionally triple-charged Cancer Moon aligning to a crystallising Capricorn Sun, which is conjunct Time Lord Saturn, the celestial spotlight fixes upon the karmic connections we have and share with our soul family. All beings may be One under a Solstice Sun, enjoying love light and heat; but at this very special Full Moon during Sol’s standstill, it is quality time with families, friends, and the connections we care to nourish with our commitment, that also give added strength and cheer to a new Solar year and the birth of Sun’s ‘New Light King’.

☆ Other heavenly influences directly associated with this stunning Solstice Full Moon include a major challenge coming from a stellium in the late degrees of Pisces: with Hygeia, Chiron and Mars, squaring-up to Sun and Moon. These three are the shamanic healing warriors, ever at the ready and banded together now to be quickly able to apply the spiritual and psychological (even physical (if called for)) band-aid, as together Chiron, Mars and Hygeia can cut to the quick and generate the love-wisdom that heals (collective) wounded emotions. So you see, it’s not just because it Christmas that forgiveness and compassion can emanate strongly now, but healing personal emotions or family feelings is well-starred.

☆ Remaining (fairly) responsible over this Full Moon (while Luna is opposite Saturn, which is in a wide conjunct with Pluto) – just when everyone else just wants to let their hair down and forget all worries and woes, it could be one of those bizarre times when being disciplined is deeply satisfying and restorative.
While Sun and Moon connect to sobering Saturn, they are, in actual fact, in tighter (and more helpful) aspects to the wacky wild-card wizard, Uranus, planetary awakener and astral overseer: with a Trine and Sextile to Sun and Moon respectively. Sun is trine Uranus Rx in Aries, and now slowing to go forward 7th January (just a day after the Solar Eclipse!).

This kind of connection between Uranus and Sun and Moon can activate the third eye. It can also make us more aware and sensitive to the current collective chaos. Most recently, Uranus has been at ‘the bends’, and in hard square to the North and South Nodes, Rahu and Ketu, Dragons’ Head, Dragon’s Tail. The unpredictable Uranian revolutionary team spirit exploded into action all over the place! But with the change now of nodal axis, from Leo – Aquarius into Cancer-Capricorn, the influence of the nodal contacts widens: i.e. Solstice points, Cancer – Capricorn, are often defining moments for many, both personally and professionally.

Currently, the North Node, Dragon’s head, Rahu is conjunct ‘First Magnitude’ ‘Fixed Star’, Procyon in Ursa Minor; this is an indication of rapid success with short-lived opportunities, a couple of weeks or three – so maybe good to make the most of whatever comes your way – quickly – no dilly dally for soul family healing.

On the upside, Jupiter remains at home in Sagittarius for the next year; and is currently with communicative, but detriment Mercury, also questing and quizzing in Sagittarius. But Jupiter has all the luck, charm and blarney of the Irish, which is especially advantageous. Both Jupiter and Mercury are now conjunct a Fixed Red Star, Antares, suggesting success comes by being totally on point, however – plus a knack for good timing.

Also in the Full Cancer Moon horoscope there are also no less than four planets in rulership, including Luna herself, along with Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. All planets are in the astrological domains that amplify their better qualities. The Moon in Cancer, for instance, makes us more caring; a Sagittarian Jupiter opens the mind for exploration, understanding the bigger picture, to see how lucky we are; Saturn in Capricorn recognizes our discipline and accomplishment; and Neptune still in Pisces (until 2026) accenting our connection to the oceans and our emotions.

And Love Goddess Venus in Scorpio is now free from her retrograde shadow, and ascends the heavens as the leading planet in the ‘Locomotive’ pattern of planets. With her intense kind of love, the Scorpio Venus leads stars signs, Scorpio, Sag, Capricorn, with Vesta in Aquarius, and the Shamanic Spiritual Warriors in Pisces pulling up the rear in both the Solstice and Full Moon charts. It’s like having someone who transformed their own demons steering planets through a time tunnel towards eclipse season, and a New Capricorn Moon Solar Eclipse, January 6th.  There will 6 celestial significators in Earthy Capricorn.  It could be a geophysical shaky start to 2019. The following Full 0* Moon on the 21st is also a Super Moon**, with high (emotional) tides. Beware mood swings and weather!

There’s no denying it, for a supposedly stabilising Earth Dog year, with its Mars and Venus retrogrades, 2018 has had its share of rattles and rolls. Events and situations around the world, and in our personal lives as well, have witnessed shocking and profound loses; be it people, species, rights, privacy, job or financial status, certain things, some of which were long fought for, and we thought would always be around are slipping away.

Collective feelings are currently so strong they plunge deeply to merge with an oceanic ‘Soul Family’. Within this soul group ripples an innate mystical undercurrent of understanding, tolerance and kindness, which flow in and out of all our stories. Maybe we will all tap into some of that innate goodness in 2019, which will come into focus with the year of the Earth Boar (starting Feb 4th), that generally proposes a tranquil home and inner-life, while we each work diligently towards achievable personal goals.

With that I wish you all a very happy Solstice Full Moon and Happy Holidays! Happy New Year too!

Sending LOVE-Light on the Full Moon beams!

☼☾Sun in Sagittarius -- Full Super Moon in Gemini 11°40’ ☼☽

☼☾Sun in Sagittarius -- Full Super Moon in Gemini 11°40’ ☼☽
Sunday –Monday 3rd – 4th December @15:47GMT

“Everybody has a geography that can be used for change that is why we travel to far off places. Whether we know it or not we need to renew ourselves in territories that are fresh and wild. We need to come home through the body of alien lands.” – Joan Halifax

☆ When faced with obstacles and difficulties that appear immovable and insurmountable, especially in the arenas of information and long and short distance travel, truth and wisdom, it sometimes feels like time stands still and all we can do is hold our breath, count to ten, then breathe deeply and mindfully, all the while witnessing a world spellbound by distraction and karma. Indeed, the Lord of Karma, Saturn, is asserting mega astral attention as this year draws to close – and is a major player in the last Full Moon horoscope of 2017.

Aside from gaining more kudos from currently being close-up and personal with quick-thinking Mercury (which is the associated ruler of this Gemini Moon (more on this throughout the commentary)), authoritarian Saturn will soon be with the life-giving Sun’s Solstice standstill on the 21st December – only three days after the 18th Dec New Sagittarian Moon (at almost the same degree as to where Saturn is right now: i.e. conjunct the Galactic Centre!). Heading towards the light, as the Solstice Capricorn Sun rises, so too will Saturn. As taskmaster Saturn ingresses into its home sign of the ambitious Sea Goat, the individual is initiated into the world of spiritual aspiration with the light of the New Born King. That’s some well-practiced and highly dramatic timing on behalf of the Time Lord, Saturn, ushering in a new sense of personal responsibility just as the light turns in the southern hemisphere and returns in the north (look to Capricorn in your chart to see where your reliability (as well as any fear) is reinforced.)

A few weeks ahead of Saturn’s dramatic change of sign (which has not been seen in Capricorn since 1989) synchronising with our Solar time wheel, early December also sees the light of a Full Gemini Super Moon opposite the fiery Sagittarian Sun – with both Sun and Moon in a very tight and challenging ‘T’ square aspect to fantasy-orientated Neptune, the planet of illusion and delusion, glamour and dreams. Things could become bizarrely surreal during this Full Moon, which is also the first of two Super Moons.

The next Super Moon following this glorious Gemini Full Moon will be Tuesday 2nd January 2018! What an entrance into 2018 that will be! A Super Moon is one that is closest to the earth so, it looks slightly bigger than usual, with the geophysical effects, and our emotions also heightened (earthquakes and flooding, for instance, can happen approximately up to three days after the moon).
☆ Like Gemini’s quicksilver nature, I’m running ahead again with mercurial caduceus wand in hand, invoking a successful pass in any test we encounter – or set ourselves. Lets’ get back to this Full Super Moon in the sign of the Twins, and see what it means to relate to all beings as brothers and sisters, at the same time being cheerful as an individual, freely going about daily business happy wherever you are, ’d'être bien dans sa peau’, as the French say, ‘happy in your skin’, easy to talk to and easy to be with. Purely by being light-hearted, social creatures, Geminis possess an uncanny knack of charming all and sundry at the same time honing into important information. What one does with such info, be it gossip or gospel – or both, may remain to be seen as the mutable Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which goes into retrograde motion only hours before Luna culminates!

By now regular dharma stars readers know the drill regarding a Mercury retrograde: for three whole weeks, from the 3rd Dec until the 23rd, triple check all important docs and files, especially those appertaining to sales, streaming and scripts; timetables and academic papers will also benefit with at least one review – and still expect delays. Because this Mercury retrograde sees the planet of communication in detriment, i.e. versatile Mercury can be too scattered in fiery Sagittarius: try not to spread yourself too thin. Stay focused. There is much to learn from Mercury’s conjunction with the more disciplined Saturn. For starters, this retrograde is about timing as Saturn is the Time Lord.

☆ Traditionalist Saturn can seem a slowcoach and stickler, patient for detail and long-winded bureaucracy, whilst Gemini’s ruler Mercury likes shortcuts and tweets to get the message across. And therein lays the dilemma: how to keep information, travel and ideas all flowing at a speed that satisfies both parties, i.e. the wise old Saturnian AND the Mercurial youth (or, in Jungian parlance, find a way to mediate between the Senex and the Puer aeternus).  This tight association between time conscious Mercury and Saturn is strong in so many ways, cropping up again and again throughout our Full Moon scope, connecting many planets during the only Super Moon of 2017. So when keeping appointments, take in the scenery on route by all means, but also keep a close eye on the clock: no one likes to be kept waiting, least of all those who have authority.

The combination of smart and savvy Mercury with conventional Saturn can also be extremely judgemental, which is not necessarily a bad thing; sometimes we need to know what works and what doesn’t. But the heaviness associated with Saturn accents the importance of training one’s own mind not to fall into depressive states no matter how difficult the circumstance.  Make a note to concentrate upon what is important right now and maintain joyful enthusiasm; remember that information hungry Gemini thrives with freedom of choice as well as the freedom to determine that choice. Dates to watch out for Mercury’s potential mischiefs, exactly aligning with responsible Saturn, 28th November, 4th December and 13th January, with the latter there may be a binding resolution of the issues relating to this sobering but also potentially expansive aspect – within Saturn’s guiding limits.

☆ Adding a challenge to this dynamic Super Moon astral mix is that both Sagittarian Sun and Gemini Moon are conjunct bright red Fixed Stars that represent intensity, power and action. The Sun at the height of the Full Super Moon is with one of the four ‘Royal Stars’, ‘Antares’, at the ‘Heart of the Scorpion’; indicating successful outcomes within extreme situations. There’s a warning that comes with this magnificent star, however, as Antares conjunct the Sun also indicates spectacular individual loss should one instigate any high drama purely for one’s own personal excitement. And with Mars and Uranus still within a rather explosive opposition, it’s time to raise a more altruistic intention, and do what is best for everyone.

The Moon is also with another Royal Star, Aldeberan, ‘the Eye of the Bull’, otherwise known as the star of illumination, or Buddha’s Star. This Fixed Star also comes with a caveat; whenever the sensitive Moon is present with Aldeberan, the focus is to keep integrity intact and not fall into temptation – which is so much easier when you’re living your truth, secure in your own natural power and element. The alignment of these two great stars, Antares and Aldeberan, together with the ‘Lights’ suggests brilliance, riches and honours, but only by exercising the highest morals and ethics. Otherwise, Aldeberan is like Antares: one whiff of corruption, sleaze or skulduggery, and one could lose a lot.

☆ Imho, this is not a Full Moon to take major risks, or make restrictions that prevent access to higher knowledge. To successfully navigate this Full Moon one will not only need to rely on highly refined intuition (The Lights in that tight T-square to Neptune, at home in oceanic Pisces), but also remain reliably informed have a strong grip of concepts, facts and law, and from time to time take a much-needed, reality check. Encourage a practical and broad mind, and aim towards reviewing the bigger picture that lies before you; then see how best to consolidate.

☆ One last note I’d like to mention is that as the Sun and Moon now both make challenging aspects to both, Jupiter and Neptune, not only do we have the ‘T’square, creating a tense aspect between the lights – and some may feel a sense of loss (don’t give up now!), but we also see the Sun making a semi-sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio, and the Moon throwing a ‘quincunx’ to the currently insightful Cosmic Guru. And on the same day as the Full Super Moon these two spiritually affiliated planets also make the first of three ‘Trines’ (120°) between the water signs Pisces and Scorpio, which take place on the 3rd December, 25th May, 19th August. So Jupiter and Neptune’s triangle phase will take eight months to complete the astral hat trick. Here, it’s important to note that Jupiter is Pisces’ traditional ruler, while Neptune is the modern ruler of the Fishes; both planets have a connection when bringing together soul and form. Jupiter may be the Sacred Teacher, but Neptune in Pisces has a collective influence, representing faith, prayers and mantras, and the heartfelt compassion and forgiveness that can ripple into the Biofield, the Noosphere of unseen thoughts and feelings, and thus have an influence upon all of us.  These two planets can reveal how a generation’s dreams can grow, especially with the profound inclination to regenerate and renew the resources we all share: water, air and earth. This wonderful planetary phase teaches us that purely by opening up to the sacred light within, seeing everything as a heavenly miracle, however minor, then everything else in the universe becomes divine too.
So much to look forward to, even in the middle of a conscientious Mercury retrograde!

Happy Full Super Moon to all!

✰··☾☼☽··✰·New Sagittarius Moon Tuesday 29th November

✰Today’s New Sagittarius Moon starts the third lunation in a row culminating in a Full SuperMoon, on the 14th December. Supermoons appear to be eventful times of major shifts, in consciousness as well as geophysical. Whatever we are reflecting upon now, as a collective or individually, it appears to be huge. Aside from the Sagittarian inclination to exaggerate ;) a Sagittarian Sun signals a time to be more open-minded and optimistic about the future, philosophical about life’s twists and turns, all the while keeping to a personal high moral stance. ‘Post-Truth’ is an anathema to the upright Sagittarian Archer. Holding truth and freedom in high regard, Sagittarius is the sign of law courts, as well academia and, perhaps more telling, our public relationship to an even higher ethical agent, variously called God, Goddess, Krishna, Buddha, Christ, Allah, Great Spirit, Nature, the Universe, as great omniscient cosmic consciousness ... 'the void'. Sagittarius connects us to the bigger picture.

✰ With both ‘Lights’ (Sun & Moon) now in a wide conjunction to Saturn (also in the sign of the centaur), the importance of this moment in time has a karmic quality, as well as the potential to reveal wisdom and generosity – and fear, especially a fear for the post-factual future. Saturn’s focus is upon fears that lead to greater understanding. With little time for ‘the bamboozle factor’, Saturn now helps to determine what is real and what is imagined.

✰ Several other factors must also be taken into astral account during this last Fire sign lunation in the Fire Monkey year: 1) as Sun and Moon are also at a delicate point in their orbit known as ‘The Bends’, i.e. Spirit Sun and Soul Moon are in direct square to the Moon’s destiny-shaping Nodes. Any planet can be found at the bends in their orbit around the Sun; in Sagittarius it can add poignant sensitivity to a usually rational mind. 2) Only the position of the Sun at this angle is called a ‘Moon Wobble’, indicating events and choices made now can trigger emotional instability (so hang onto judicious reason as best you can). 3) Sun and Moon join forces with one of the most powerful fixed stars: Antares, a red star that rivals Mars, otherwise known as ‘The Heart of the Scorpion’, indicating all kinds of martial passion and intensity. This Fixed Star also suggests danger, ruin and sudden loss, should one succumb to corruption jealousy or obsession.

✰ All in all, it appears we are traversing a time of intense transformation; be the change within our own lives, with friends, in-laws or authority, or even politically, with impact upon the planet and environment, what is clear within the current astrological climate is how important it is that we go with the flow of the ‘higher mind’, all-the-while maintaining personal integrity, faith and optimism that good will out, and that the ignorance using force or fear to control will be curtailed. Events around the 9-10th December could prove challenging in the run-up to the Full Gemini SuperMoon.
