❤❤❤ Maha Saraswati Basant Pancham Valentine _/\_ ❤❤❤

With the growing light of the Losar Moon, today in the Indian and Himalayan tradition, this fifth day of the ‘fixed Air cross’ Aquarian lunation, is ‘Basant Panchami’, honouring Saraswati, the Goddess of music, art and wisdom _/\_  <3 Saraswati is the great Goddess who boosts intelligence and cultural understanding; she presides over a day this year (2016) when the dynamic Aries Moon is conjunct Uranus, inspiring newness and change; while the radiant Sun is square to Mars (applying into his retrograde shadow phase). Scarlet Mars also rules Aries. The challenge is to therefore create, not destroy. This combination of ‘Lights’ (Sun & Moon) also suggests making adjustments to projects already on the go may be surprisingly illuminating. That said, anything radically innovative has the blessings of the Sacred Goddess.  Yet as Mars is retrograde throughout the spring to early summer, best be prepared to rework and re-do whatever is being generated now.
May the blessings of the Goddess abound, and be especially sweet for Valentine weekend! Om Aim Namah॥_/\_
Fyi: Mars retrograde 18 April @8Sagittarius --> 30 June @23 Scorpio; Mars can also now be seen in the early evening sky.
Thanks with love to unknown thangka painter for beautiful Nepali Saraswati _/\_

♐ Dakini Day Valentine __/❤\__ ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸❤✶

With the Red Moon Goddess now in Sagittarius ♐♐♐ her arrows of Love align directly with the centre of the galaxy to focus upon a strong sense of justice, freedom for all, and victory (in Love)!
This Dakini Moon highlights the humane vibration of the Valentine Sun in Aquarius, to now rise above profane and romantic love that adores hearts and flowers as shows of affection (though, granted, these are fun ;) ). The Aquarian Water Bearer has the discipline to take responsibility for others emotions, and with selfless love has the insight to see that love is a verb: to ‘be love’ is also part of raising the altruistic intention, wanting the world to be a better place, not just lovers and partners, but for everyone, the animals, birds and insects included.
Image is Goddess is Kurukulla (artist unknown), sometimes called Red Tara, beaming Love with the freshness of youth. Like Cupid or Eros, Kurukulle also has a bow to subjugate the target of affection with flowery arrows to make them fall in love!
❤ Happy Dakini Day!
Happy Valentine’s ! ❤

☼ “Dön Season” ~> before Losar & the New Year of the Green Yin Wood Goat

No sooner has informative Mercury gone direct (today at 1 degree Aquarius), the Last Quarter Tara Moon of the Wood Horse Year signals we are well and truly into a critical period of the Tibetan calendar called “Dön Season”, which has been described as being ‘like Mercury retrograde on steroids’, as the karma of the last year now accumulates to potentially manifest as sticky issues that can create obstacles, problems and disharmony.

Dön is the name given to the end-of-years’ amassed energy patterns, particularly the negative ones which whip-up destructive thinking to provoke difficult interactions and arguments that, if we don’t clarify with mindfulness, can even lead to emotional obsessions, or psychic or physical sickness. Thus, it is now super important that over the next few days we clear the air and make space, at home, at work, in relationship, and on the meditation cushion, in order to awaken Spirit and transform the mind. Detox inner planes as well as outer worlds now, and let-go of the old and outmoded and, by being open-minded and aware, prepare for New Year of the Green Yin Wood Goat on the 18th–19th February, a year that offers an exhilarating kind of joy, with the potential for great peace.

During these next few days of the “Dön Season” just before Losar, Tibetan New Year, we call upon our protectors, connect to sangha, and loved ones who give love and support. It may also be a cosmic co-incidence that Valentine's Day is also Dakini Day, but when the Goddess highlights Love, she does so this year with the radiant LoveLight which emanates straight from the Galactic heart.

۞ Heal Ourselves & Heal the World ~ Medicine Buddha Moon ~> 6/7th February __/♥\__

A potent Medicine Buddha Moon is now exalted in earthy Taurus. This first quarter Moon proffers a chance to soothe and organise the mind during a wild and windy Aquarian month. This ability to steady and ground oneself is helpful in stabilising meditation, as well as within relationships – especially those valued aspects (of self) which are in final phase of a powerful transformation.

In tight aspect to the Water Bearer, the waxing Taurus Moon highlights the good things in life which help us heal: food, flowers, and friends. By honouring simple pleasures shared with loved ones or effortlessly savoured alone, the boost to the immune system and recovery that occurs when happiness abounds is enormous. And even one moment of restorative awareness, caught and congratulated, can be goodness multiplied when dedicated to benefit of all beings.

__/♥\__With versatile Mercury going retrograde today, and Venus just having come out of retrograde, plus Mars now in the shadow phase of its’ retrograde on March 1st, the personal relationship planets are certainly gyrating in the heavens. Even the most solid alignments can swivel and turn (in the nicest possible way) to change direction, goal or intention, which is why it’s important to now hold one’s space and get comfortable within one’s own skin (as best we can) during this first quarter Moon phase; because the planets of rapport and affinity are currently keeping everyone alert to evolving within the variable creative tension that naturally arises between interconnecting loved Ones and friends, family and colleagues. En route to the Valentine’s Full Moon, the trick is to now nourish the soul and make LOVE healing, sweet and wholesome.

Love Heals ♥ ~> Last Quarter ♥ Valentine ♥ Scorpio Moon ♥

A Last Quarter Valentine Scorpio Moon on Tuesday Feb 14th has the power to help to overcome obstacles and heal the heart and Spirit of all kinds of relationships, be that with yourself, your family, your friends, colleagues or co-workers, as well as the treasured Valentine heart.

With Spirit Sun in eccentric Aquarius, in a closing square to the extremely perceptive Scorpio Moon, the lights accent the profoundly therapeutic qualities of Medicine Buddha as well as Goddess Tara’s enlightened activity. Both signs, Aquarius & Scorpio, are fixed and fearless. Aquarius is cold sharp Air, and Scorpio the inexhaustible well of Water; together they produce instinctive intelligence, combining intellect and sensitivity to delve into deep and delicate issues with an air of cool detachment, yet still emotionally engaged.  This, in my opinion, is a most shamanic Sun-Moon combination.  Not only are we one week away from Losar, the Tibetan New year, but one must also bare in mind how the Moon is also hierarchical ruler of Aquarius, suggesting that only when everyone’s needs are met does humanity evolve.

So we say goodbye to the Rabbit Year, and before the New Water Dragon begins this Mysterious Scorpio Moon could takes us into very dark spaces and places, just as the non-conformist Aquarius Sun provides a fluorescent electric zapper that twinkles and illuminates, especially tantalising within the hypnotic shadows. In short, now is the time to liberate the psyche, and shine laser-light insight into the depths of the receptive soul, to access an assess previously ignored or hidden situations or circumstance (within, as in one’s own intuitive action, speech, or intent; as well as without, as in inter-personal and/or intimate relationship).

Throughout this global day of Medicine Buddha Insightful Goddess Love, our aspirations can be like a humanitarian Water Bearer, firmly holding an altruistic wish for all to be in their flow; at the same time our sensitive Scorpio Moon develops inner-resources that enable us to release negativity into the void, to be at once transformed and purified. During any crisis of conscience, be aware that clarity and wisdom work together at this point in time in a state of highly creative tension, dancing between crazy inspiration and total obsession - an extraordinary dynamic that can nourish and feed personal relations as well as the global family. Happy Valentine, dear heartS

Day of Miracles ~ Valentine Losar 2137 ~ Year of the Metal Tiger 2010

How wonderful it is when, for no other reason than glorious happenstance, diverse traditions meet to celebrate on remarkably auspicious days and double any potentially supreme good fortune. This year in our Western calendar the day of red hot passionate love hearts, St Valentine's, is the same day as Losar, the Tibetan New Year, which, according to Tibet's Eastern tradition, also marks the start of a month of miracles. Bringing the two hemispheres together we have a whole month when love is the key for making miracles happen. How cool is that?

As a result, Valentine’s love vibration abounds while we also have an altruistic and friendly Aquarius New Moon (2:51 am GMT), enabling us to generate the self-existing mindfulness that fully opens the heart to the loving kindness and consideration for others and ourselves that we can all enjoy: Welcome a new moon that accents heartfelt individuality within the ‘whole’, celebrating diversity in unity.

Interestingly, two adversaries also come together with this year’s Aquarius New Moon, a lunation which always marks a Chinese New Year, yet not always a Tibetan New Year (which can move - rarely into Capricorn, but often into Pisces): Valentine’s ‘arrows of love’ point to both cultures meeting at the New Year of the romantic and passionate Metal (or Iron) Tiger. With the elemental focus now upon sharp and cutting metal, strength comes this year from being be clear and focused, resolute and utterly beautiful and unique.

Differences in interpretation (and opinion) do exist: from China the Metal Tiger is assertive, direct and forceful, with a tendency to be self-orientated and rigid. From Tibet we also have the freedom-loving, generous commander; yet there is another side to the determined Tibetan Tiger, who is symbolic of meekness, less complicated by ego desire and therefore able to more easily show compassion towards others. According to Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, “the Tiger is an expression of ‘unconditional confidence’ …not stalking for prey, but self-satisfied and modest, watchful and relaxed, mindfully aware of how to conduct affairs”.

Losar is also a time of ‘Light Blessing’. A Tibetan blessing differs from our usual understanding, in as much as it suggests purification with an intentional transformation.

Tiger is associated (in both cultures) with Aquarius, a future orientated zodiacal sign of hopes and wishes, symbolic of humanity’s desire to come together and build a brighter tomorrow. Tiger’s planet is Venus, the planet of love, who now flourishes in her exaltation, in Pisces. So the kind of love we are now talking is deeply felt, oceanic and delightful, nothing short of unconditional cosmic love.

~ ♥ ~ ♥ ~ ♥ ~

It’s been 60 years since China invaded Tibet, the last Metal Tiger year. This means a whole new Metal Tiger cycle is about to begin. According to Chogyam Namkhai Norbu, this is a completion of a first 'metreng' of the 'cycle of the mewa' (smen 'khor – i.e. the element and number relation). Sixty years is also mega important in Kalachakra astrology, being the above mentioned as well as a completion of five elemental cycles of Jupiter through the twelve signs of the zodiac, plus two cycles of Saturn (the planet that orders the flow of bagua): this is a cycle that demonstrates how wisdom and karma work together.

Let's hope then, at the start of this second metrung (60 years), that miracles can and do happen, that we can string the necklace of the numerically magic ‘mewa’ together in peace and harmony, so that the people of Tibet (and China, and the world over) have the Aquarian liberty to practice their non-harmful light-shining spiritual belief, free in speech and worship, and free from fear or want.

~ ♥ ~ ♥ ~ ♥ ~

From the western astrological point of view, the horoscope of this year’s Losar, erected for GMT, has positive and forward-thinking Sagittarius rising, with beneficent Jupiter ruling the chart. Optimistic Jupiter is in the third house of communication, in his traditional domain of enchanting Pisces, conjoined by the sympathetic, loving and harmonious Venus. This strong combination is astro-speak for potentially very helpful relations, willing to enter a dialogue that could bring about an end to matters, or at the very least, agree on the need to co-exist and co-operate and co-create (much like this surrogate tiger mum to a litter of pigs).

The life-giving Sun is also currently with visionary Neptune and healing Chiron, as well as symbol of the collective, the Moon. At best this combination suggests spiritual healing, big style, (through the cyber airwaves?). At worst it is about a harmful intention to pull the wool over the masses’ eyes. Working together (with or without miracles) we could quite feasibly make it the former.

Tiger is also an endangered species. One wonders if this is a year when more of an effort is made to protect them. With the all-consuming love shown in this year's chart, one might well hope this is the case.

Many thanks to all tigers (especially the one I saw on my honeymoon, all those years ago in India's Sarsika national park) & credit to Janosh for beautiful healing mandala www.janosh-art.com
