Guru Rinpoche New Year! 2015

__/\__ Celebrating the wisdom of the Lama as 2014 draws to a close. In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the moon phase five days before a full moon, the Gibbous Moon, is a monthly feast day in honour of our Teacher (Guru or Lama, historical or modern, friend, foe or loved one), who shows us how to live in love, with compassion. With the moon not yet full (Jan4th), Luna’s light is still reflective and bright; and this is considered the monthly optimum expression of joyful and luminous ‘yang’ energy. Both Sun and Moon are always in the same element for Guru Rinpoche day. In today’s case, the initiating Capricorn Sun and an exalted Taurus Moon accent the stabilising Earth element, helping to manifest in the ‘real’ world. A practical Moon in the sign of the Bull moderates Capricorn’s austere ambition, bringing out the SeaGoat Sun’s more spiritual qualities, such as maintaining the stamina and strength to accept personal responsibility and to welcome with an open heart the unerring discipline and practice needed to master skills - talents which are so often wasted without value or encouragement. Now ‘The Lights’ emphasis the wisdom of the (inner) Guru, it bodes well for our intentions, visioning, affirmations and resolutions to materialise for the coming year, 2015.

Shortest day and longest night is fast approaching. At the same time the Moon cycle is coming to a close, compounding long shadow days and the need to allow subconscious thoughts, feelings and dreams to bubble up to the surface before being filtered by the light of consciousness.
Until the Winter Solstice (21st Dec 23:03GMT ), swiftly followed by the New Capricorn Moon (22nd Dec 001:25gmt ) - with both markers occurring around midnight Universal Time, this closing part of the year is also one of the year’s darkest periods. Before solar standstill, and like the animals hibernating, it is now time to relax (as best one can in the often hectic pre-xmas whirl). During these next few days the receptive and feminine Yin chi flows deeply and strong (in the northern hemisphere). Within this dark space the urge to turn inwards, in order to recoup and revive, is an innate part of our natural cycle. The Sun moves into Sagittarius today, Saturday, with a New Moon in the sign of the centaur, advocating we make the most of the creative spark during this last fire sign month in the year of the Wood Horse. Sun and Moon are with Goddess Venus, helping to raise the cosmic love vibration and general back-slapping bonhomie. But be aware how ‘The Lights’ are also conjunct prudent Saturn, suggesting a cautious kind of optimism is called for, also that we need to cultivate tact, patience and tolerance, especially when dealing with long-term travel plans, business expansion and religious differences.
 
The Archer encourages positive progress, urging one to open the mind, think big and aim high. ☼ ✶☽ The purifying and healing power of this lunar cycle's Balsamic Virgo moon is phenomenally strong, as Lunar Dakini provides the Divine feminine's much- needed therapeutic touch in degenerate times.  With dedicated care and organization, negativity can now be banished into the void from whence it came.

Lha-bab Düchen KARMA MULITIPLIED DAY x 100, 000, 000 _/\_

Thursday, 13th November 20014 it is the last ‘Buddha Day’ of the year, and a multiplied karma day, when the effect and merit of actions, thoughts. and words are multiplied by 100,000,000! Be mindful throughout the day. Lha-bab Duchen is one of the most important days in the Buddhist calendar. This 22nd day of the 9th Tibetan month sees the celebration of Buddha’s return to earth after three months and seven days of dharma teaching to his mother in the realm of the 33, the sphere of the Deva’s. So that his mother could be liberated from Samsara, and to repay her kindness, is an act considered to be one Buddha’s eight ‘great deeds’.

From the heavenly bliss realms, Buddha Shakyamuni returned to Earth to continue teaching dharma via a triple ladder made by Vishvakarma, the Hindu god of architecture and machines. Built from gold, crystal, and Lapis Lazuli, the ladder stretched all the way from Mount Meru. At the appointed hour (on the last quarter moon) on the right-hand golden ladder appeared the all-powerful, all-seeing Bramha, with the fine form deities; on the left-hand crystal ladder came Dorje wielding Indra, with the Lords of the sensual worlds; while Buddha descended via the central Lapis Lazuli ladder, representing the middle path, as well as an intimate relation with the realms of meditation, infinite space and infinite consciousness; thus bringing heaven to earth, illustrating how to overcome the duality of form and formlessness.

Mercury direct~> opposite Uranus x3 = CHANGE of mind ☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸♥ OCT 2014

The planet of communication, Mercury going forwards today in Libra (did I hear a cheer 'hooray'?! ), and with it the words of fellow Libran Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world” become ever more popular. Rightly so; for each and every one of us has a personal responsibility to alter – and improve – our lives, as well as benefit those of others around us, and therefore shape our own (collective) destiny. But how do we actually do that?

By changing the way we perceive ourselves, our relationships, and our position in the world we do actually alter the way we react. By seeing all the good around us, the kindness and love we give and receive - and are grateful for - it enables one to generate a feelgood factor, which in turn makes problem solving much easier. Ghandi also said that “Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.” To all intents and purposes many go through the opposite of this, bumbling best we can through a time of soul searching, seeking new ways of looking at the world, and new ways to change our approach to problems so that our needs get met, if not our wants. Yet these times call for material consolidation and practical advancement in spiritual study. Though it’s not always easy to implement the new ideas, symbolised by Mercury's retrograde in Libra, but by the time that Mercury re-enters Scorpio, on the 9th November, we may be very glad that we were brave enough to embrace the change that come from the heart, bringing beauty and joy to the fore.

☾ ● ◯ The October Full Moon is sometimes called Hunter’s Moon, aka Blood Moon, Travel Moon, or Dying Moon, as the leaves (in the northern hemisphere) begin to wither and drop, which in itself can instil the dread of winter. But wherever you are take heart: This Aries Moon is also an exciting Lunar Eclipse, exact 11:51bst (6:51est), laden with love and light. In harmonious Libra, and conjunct Venus, Spirit Sun aligns love with intelligence, to encourage kindness to be at the heart of activating creative change.

The Moon is exactly conjunct Uranus, the enlightening planet associated with dramatic turnarounds, as well as altruism, with each expressing his or her own individual gifts within the larger social scale. Now Uranus wakes us up to that which emotionally fulfills, like a bolt from the blue urging one into action.
