Halloween Samhain ~11~ Moon Pluto in Capricorn

Halloween blessings to one and all _(♥)_ As nature’s thinning veils between life and death allow one to view the previously hidden with a profound spiritual sensitivity, leading to greater insight and extra-sensory perception, it is at Samhain that a mysterious part of the psyche can shift into visible consciousness, and renew determination to understand deep-rooted influences, discover deceptive secrets, and resolve difficult power issues.

During the Day of the Dead, we magically communicate with loved ones who have passed, and imbibe Spirit of Ancestors. Thus empowered by the strength and beauty of all that has gone before, we can embrace the affairs of the everyday world with the resources to transform selfishness into selflessness and subdue the nature of our base desires.

From the astrological point of view, at ‘All Hallow’s Eve’, the gothic Scorpio Sun marks the sensitive Water element of zodiac's Fixed Cross (exact on the 7th November) symbolic of controlling systems facing points of crisis that, through honed intuition, can relinquish all which no longer serves (collective) liberation.

The Sun is currently sextile the waxing Moon that today conjuncts Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler, making this a rather emotionally satisfying Halloween, even if relationships are extra intense with Venus conjunct Mercury at 27Scorpio, the Scorpio Sun is still cojunct Juno, loyal with laser-like feminine intuition - like a witch's black cat ;)

Diwali Scorpio New Moon ~ October'11

Hindu Diwali LIGHT festivities begin tonight, with a shimer of candlelight and a twinkle of devotion during the darkest hours of the old Moon, before the 3degrees Scorpio new SuperMoon on Wednesday, 26th, at 19:54UT.

Scorpio is a sign of transformation, regenerating Spirit through the ability to delve into previously hidden places, ideas, or thoughts. With laser-like perception Scorpio cuts to the quick and swiftly releases the outmoded or outworn so that one is literally reborn and renewed. To aid the metamorphosis, the Scorpio Halloween lunation draws back the veil of illusion to begin the lunar cycle with Sun and Moon in very good relation to the celestial shaman, Chiron, the sensitive healer who continues to travel hand-in-hand with magical mystical Neptune. Now is the time to hone into the wounded part of self (physical, intellectual or spiritual) and, through a ritual connection to the natural world, retrieve the darkest parts of the wounded soul and breathe into it the new light of life _(♥)_

~*♥*~

On Friday the 28th, we also have the second phase of the on-going Jupiter-Pluto trine, a helpful aspect which began in the summer and will end as spring begins, in March. This represents a long-term renewal of values, and all we cherish_(♥)_

1st Quarter Medicine Buddha Moon ~> Libra Sun ☼☀☽ Capricorn Moon Oct'11

_(♥)_ Of all the years' first-quarter healing Moon lunations, which create some kind of crisis in action, the Libra-Capricorn combination is mega: Ambitions are high, as is the urge to drive ever-so-sweetly an objective into becoming reality: For this coming week presents an excellent opportunity to harness the healing energy of the cosmos and see results.

With the Sun - plus FOUR other heavenly bodies: Mercury, Venus, Juno & Saturn, now passing through Libra, the rational sign of the scales, taking personal responsibility whilst treading the middle dharma path is our biggest trial; by all planetary indications, this is also a beautiful passage - even if it is a bit hard on the emotions to find the peace or fairness we seek.

Staying calm with focused breathing helps let go of becoming attached to any current drama, and rest in the natural equanimity that helps one to build bridges, mend fences, and find the common point of contact when dealing with others. Enthusiasm is required to maintain balance and stability, as most decision-making is currently weighed up an down by almost ponderous long-term goals looking for the quick-fix. Yet the Libra conjunction of Saturn and Venus, exalted and at home respectively, mean relations and projects estabished and sealed around this time have a greater chance of having a lasting effect and generating positive karma.

Mars square Jupiter ~ Oct'11

Fiery Mars in heart-centred Leo creates a tense aspect to the generous and spiritual teacher, Jupiter in earthy Taurus, 3rd-5th Oct. This is an opening but demanding relationship, when the challenge is to stabilise one’s playful passion and creativity - often more easily said than done. The combination of an EQUANIMOUS MIND with RIGHT CONCENTRATION has a greater potential to produce the RIGHT ACTION. :)_/♥\_

DALAI LAMA ON ACTION: "It is not enough to be compassionate; you must act. There are two aspects to action. One is to overcome the distortions and afflictions of your own mind; that is, in terms of calming and eventually dispelling anger. This is action out of compassion. The other is more social, more public."--Dalai Lama

Image to help us visual thinkers to generate right action is by Venerable Lobsang Tendar, and is of “Manjushri, who is said to have the power of discriminating wisdom. He can discriminate between correct and incorrect views and between beneficial and non-beneficial actions that must be taken on one's spiritual path. He holds a sword that vanquishes ignorance. Manjushri's sword is also considered a sword of quick detachment and a symbol of enlightened will.”

Dakini Equinox ~> September 23rd 2011

As the world turns, our Solar year has two equinoxes, with days that are marked by equal-day and equal-night, in Spring and Autumn. Each has a distinct signature: Autumn is cool, yin and feminine, inclining towards the cocooned dark of restful night; while Spring is hot, yang and masculine with energies dynamically moving headlong towards the light. Thus Autumn Equinox, on Friday, 23d September at 10:06bst, heralds the cool and freshly feminine approach to darker days (in the northern hemisphere).

Libra - the sign we enter on Friday (Venus’s day!) is astrologically attributed to the intellectual element Air, which is yang. Yet the zodiac’s mechanical scales, upon which we assess balance and peaceful harmony in all relations, is actually ruled by the love Goddess Venus, who is receptive, inclusive, and into dialogue as a means of conflict resolution. This balance of male and female at the harvest indicates an important turning point, one where we are inherently able to nourish and synchronise male and female - within, through subtle body channels, as well as without, through a combination of rational and sensitivity, to be in oneness in thought, word and deed.

I’m told those who adhere to the Mayan calendar are calling a five day period, beginning with the Equinox, a ‘cosmic convergence’.  Though I am not an expert on the Mayan wave calculation, I can say that the planets currently accent dramatic shift and change; and the influence of the New SUPER MOON in Libra on the 27th may well bring about sudden bolts from the blue that force one to become much more aware. A new Moon around Equinox is an extremely powerful portent of transformation. The following day, the 28th is Michelmas, symbolic of truth and light.

More on the new moon in a moment; first let’s look more closely at this year’s Autumn Equinox, which falls auspiciously upon the aspect of the lunar cycle, when Tibetans honour the moon cycle’s strongest day for female energy, ‘Dakini day’.  A Dakini, in the Tibetan tradition is a wisdom protector whose name means variously ‘Sky Dancer’, ‘Space Goer’, ‘Celestial Woman’ or ‘Cloud Fairy’; The Dakini works tirelessly to help all beings, upholding her Bodhisattva vow, wishing enlightenment for all.  This Dakini Moon is also conjunct assertive Mars in regal Leo; passion rises with this combination, as does the ability to be generous and creative, as well as playful and sporty – enthusiasm should be welcomed, but anger might need to be kerbed.

And as we encounter a New Moon in Libra on Tuesday, the 27th, the planets line up in Libra: Mercury, Sun, Moon, Venus, AND Saturn are also joined by loyal feminine archetype, asteroid Juno. Such a celestial call from the wise feminine for wisdom and fairness cannot be ignored.

This is not a rally cry for revolution, though some may be inclined or manipulated to do so (astrologers and light-workers please take note) by a frenzied expression of these planets being in opposition to individualistic Uranus – as the wise feminine is above such base animal instinct. No, this is a cry from the heart for freedom, for all beings to show integrity and find peace, justice, and truth as a means of living together on a beautiful planet. This new moon is a time of raising self-awareness, of being with those we love, with whom we have a heart resonance, and with whom our own unique talent is a contribution to the whole.

Love Wisdom and the Full Pisces Moon September '11

Full magical psychic 19Pisces Moon coming up tonight/tomorrow 12th September at 10:26bst ~> Healing planets are tuning into the collective 'field' of the (un)conscious _(♥)_

Receptive, inclusive and virtuous GODDESS power is now full to the max, activating LOVE WISDOM with humane Virgo Sun still shining with Spirit Sun, opposite sensitive Moon conjunct Earth Mother Ceres, who are in devoted and mystical Pisces.  With 'The Lights' in square to the Moon’s nodes, this full HARVEST MOON presents a Mutable Grand Cross, symbolising our willingness to absorb the experience of this mega YIN moment, seed our future, and awaken consciousness to planetary awareness.

Mercury is our agent during a mutable cross: Planet of the mind, Mercury, is now even in a most excellent Grand Earth Trine, exalted in Virgo (& in mundane astro-world a symbol of banking), stabilising through helpful (if only we would let it) Jupiter in Taurus (sign of Venus) in very good aspect to transformational Pluto.

Astral tip: Tune into dreams and listen to the message of the night, as the light of these moonbeams can reveal a previously hidden universal Divinity.

From Robert Beer's book on Tibetan symbols (brackets are mine):
"The two (Pisces) fishes originally represented the two main sacred rivers of India - the Ganges and Yamuna. These rivers are associated with the lunar and solar channels which originate in the nostrils and carry the alternating rhythms of breath or prana. They have religious significance in Hindu, Jain and Buddhist traditions but also in Christianity (the sign of the fish, the feeding of the five thousand). In Buddhism, the fish symbolize happiness as they have complete freedom of movement in the water. They represent fertility and abundance. Often drawn in the form of carp which are regarded in the Orient as sacred on account of their elegant beauty, size and life-span."

Ganesh ૐ Lord of Astrologers

Homage to Ganesh, Lord of astrologers, on his birthday _(♥)_ This 12-arm emmanation of Ganesh is associated to the Tibetan deity of compassion, Avaloketisvara. Ganesh Chaturthi is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada, starting on fourth day of the waxing moon. The Virgo Elephant God serves humanity on a practical level, helping to overcome obstacles so we become the best we can be :)

Moon Spica & Saturn ~> Sept 1st 11

The Moon is with bright star Spica AND Saturn tonight. Cloud cover permitting, we should be able to see all three line up together.  As the wheat sheaf in the constellation of Virgo, Spica star confers honour, fame and bread on the table.  Saturn asks that we take responsibility and make sure that all beings eat as well as we do; while the Moon provides the sensitive caring to do so.

The image is of Diana of Ephesus, whose temple was once considered to be one of the world’s seven wonders.  Her role is the Mother of Earthly abundance – food, drink & joy, and her temple aligned with the rising of Spica.

May all beings everywhere
Plagued by sufferings of body and mind
Obtain an ocean of happiness and joy

By virtue of my merits
May no living creatures suffer,
Commit evil or ever fall ill

May no one be afraid or belittled

With a mind weighed down by depression
May the blind see forms
And the deaf hear sounds

May those whose bodies are worn with toil

Be restored in finding repose
May the naked find clothing
The hungry find food

May the thirsty find water

And delicious drinks
May the poor find wealth
Those weak with sorrow find joy

May the forlorn find hope

Constant happiness and prosperity
May there be timely rains
And bountiful harvests

May all medicines be effective

And wholesome prayers bear fruit
May all who are sick or ill
Quickly be freed from their ailments

Whatever diseases there are in the world
May they never occur again.
May the frightened cease to be afraid
And those bound be freed

May the powerless find power

And may people think of benefitting each other.
