Envision! Empower! Engage! Full Moon in Gemini Dec 2019

On this last Full Moon of the decade at 19°51’ Gemini 5:12UT 12^th December 2019 ~> A Full Gemini Moon that culminates on the 12^th of the 12^th 2019 (=12!) numerically empowers with a triple enshrined number of completion – ‘12’: so fitting for the last Full Moon of the Year. And as the 20’s beckon – albeit tentatively with righteous caution, it is events and situations that surround this curious end-of-decade Gemini Moon that we discover and disseminate all kinds of info that could make sense of our current quest to keep the flame of hope alive. And while fakery abounds, a brilliant Gemini Moon reflecting the light of the truth-seeking Sagittarian Sun suggests we can also embody the wisdom of discernment and analysis to carry us into the clearer vision of the 2020’s.

From a view within our mind’s eye, most everyone has something to say about their vision of the future. Indeed, there are even ‘Fixed Stars ‘, (‘Mirzam’ and ‘Alehena’, on the destiny-fulfilling North Node) in this Full Moon scope that celestially encourages us to engage by stating our intentions to those we consider close trusted kin, and freely announce new ideas (to old projects) and forthcoming goals and pursuits. By airing thoughts, be they philosophies or proposals, we could also clear external (past-life karmic) obstacles and pacify internal confusion – thereby making it easier to go forward. With words that will easily echo beyond a powerful Dark Moon Solstice and a Christmas New Moon Solar Eclipse, we now enter into the first forays of that eclipse season, which comes to an end around the Chinese New Year, January 25^th and the Year of the Metal Rat.

✰ But for this Full Gemini Moon there is a planetary plot twist that provides ample choice in this dualistic world, as the chatty Twins in their light-hearted inquisitiveness will conjunct asteroid Pandora at culmination (Wednesday night/Thursday (morning)), the mercurial nature of this Moon is compounded. Asteroid Pandora has a seductive quality. Pandora’s nature in the horoscope can be compulsive, towards expansion if not OTT in her indulgence. In Gemini, Pandora has an insatiable thirst for knowledge. A Full Moon that holds sway over our emotions with Pandora suggests relationships and situations could suffer unless we keep a lid on the not-so-agreeable facets of our life and personality. In Greek, Pandora means ‘all gifts’. Mythological stories tell tales of her carrying a box labelled ‘all gifts’, that when opened all the woes and wonders of the world fell out. Carried away by all of its contents, before all was lost Pandora sealed ‘Hope’ inside the box, i.e. no matter what goes on around us, inside our heartmind the gentle flicker of the flame of hope illuminates our path.

So let your inner-light shine during these holy days. Any careful strategy and planning put into place for the holiday season will certainly help one to have a stronger grip on truth, as well as exercise reasonable restraint and responsible reactions which are most especially prized – and called for, particularly when the bubbly sparkles and party sequins shimmer in the silvery moonlight. Because this is rather changeable Full Moon, with the sign of curious, versatile and persuasive Twins mirroring the brilliance of the far-seeing Archer, best stay in one’s flow, aware that all that glitters isn’t necessarily gold.

✰ Remain centred in the midst of change, with an open heart and mind, able to smile from within and be kind to ourselves and others by living up to our moral expectations. I say this partly due to a Mutable ‘T-Square’ that ramps up the Love Wisdom with ‘The Lights’, Sun and Moon, in a challenging, hard angle to compassionate Neptune, which is still at home in philanthropic Pisces – with a warning to beware collective confusion, half-truths, and charity fatigue: we are just over half way through this oceanic transit which ends 2026 and there are always more ways to give. Also partly said because Jupiter, the Sagittarian Sun’s sage ruler, has only recently left the wild roaming plains of the Archer, to traverse Capricorn’s professional highlands and explore the value of empire, state and law.

Still, this Mutable Square is a tough cosmic call for all, for the spiritual soul group as much as the trend-setting fashionista individual, often vacillating from wanting to save the world, be saved, or hide in shadows of their favourite bar; but it also suggests forgiveness is called for. And sacrifices may also need to be made when letting go of any lack of clarity, incoherent misinformation or toxic addiction. For a mystical moment we may feel the need to view the world through heart-shape specs, as though veils of glamour and delusion mistakenly compensate, when what we really need is to release our imagination instead, and bask in the beauty of the love that emanates from the heart.

✰ Remember, under any circumstance, how we are made of light and love, and each of us an integral part of a universe that always, no matter what, always supports us – although it may not always seem so at the time. This might sound crazy to those consumed by physical or emotional or intellectual karma and needs (all of us). But keep the faith. Even if faced with a metaphoric Capricornian mountain to climb, for a Full Gemini Moon mission when the adventurous Sun is in Sagittarius, the quest becomes ethically inspired by wanting to do the right thing by one’s conscience, all of which has a greater chance of success and to create a wealth of wisdom and virtue. Be brave – and flexible. Set your moral standard high. Know that during a Mutable T-Square and a Gemini Full Moon facts can and do slip. Ideas can also rip then ride the mental merry-go-round to create spin and/or bewilderment. Perhaps more importantly: be aware how thoughts currently have lighter angelic wings. What we think can now magically fly through the ethers into the great beyond, tracing and threading lacy gossamer trails of hopes and dreams that can manifest later into our ‘real world’ of personal time and space as ‘Divine Intervention’.

Be careful of what you now wish for.

✰ Also over this Full Moon, Sol’s present Sagittarian ruler, Jupiter and the left-field ‘agent of change’, Uranus, apply a decisive and easy, blink-and-you-might-miss-it, super-helpful ‘Trine’ connection. Aspects applying between expansive Jupiter and revolutionary Uranus are generally both exciting, overblown, and even more outrageous when aided a Full Moon. And although both planets are in slower Earth signs, solid Capricorn and furrowed Taurus, surprisingly fast change could zap into place December 15^th, with friendship groups and social media a means of influence.
✰ Another aspect worthy of note is a regulating factor – a 150° quincunx from the Gemini Moon to Saturn, Venus and Pluto, together in Capricorn, it’s quite a powerhouse to communicate with. Keeping temptation at arm’s length, the Pandora Gemini Full Moon has A-list media connections with the Moon in Gemini to help keep informed, if not contained and poised, slightly passionate and intense; with the ramifications of choices and adjustments resonating as Luna wanes towards the Dark Scorpio Moon Solstice.

✰ As the Solar Solstice wheel turns, Luna she leans heavily upon the feminine mystique of the moment. And when the New Light King is reborn with the Christmas New Moon Solar Eclipse (25^th-26^th December) it truly marks the end of what has been a tricky teen decade for many, just as the karmic gates begin to open wide and a major time of transition begins, with this Gemini Full Moon heralding profound shifts in the coming weeks ahead, geophysical as well as within; consciously or not, but emotionally, physically, and even intellectually especially challenging for Capricorn, Cancer, Aries and Libra to show how happiness and harmony is self-generated.

☽ Practical Magic with a Full Pisces Moon Sept '19

Practical Magic with a Full Moon at 21° Pisces, 14^th Sept, 4:33UT

Events and situations over this weekend’s Full Pisces Moon could stimulate the imagination to the max, culminating either on Friday 13^th – (whohoo!) or Saturday (14^th), depending upon where you are in the world. Accenting a period in which we can consciously and actively create marvels and miracles, at the same time discover what we need to keep our feet on the ground with a healthy balance of work and fun, for ourselves and within our environment. 

By also making sure we can tell what is real from what is fantasy (not so easy these days), we can also avoid being overwhelmed or hoodwinked – big time. Basically we all now need to be good, kind and truthful to ourselves and each other, and stay open to all kinds of positive potentials. Because this Full Moon along the Pisces-Virgo axis illuminates spiritual, mental and physical healing, with an abundance of celestial love-wisdom currently in full flow, as indicated by seven planets in Mutable signs (Virgo x 4: Sun, Mars, Venus AND Mercury; Sagittarius Jupiter; and Pisces Moon & Neptune).

So many fluctuating signs indicate change is very much in the air. This Full Moon is also closest to the September Equinox, leading to the Solar Fire Festival, 23^rd September, when the emphasis of Sun’s light also begins to change. So we naturally now look towards all that supports a wholesome lifestyle and seek to organise – with micro-management especially starred with those four planets in practical and realistic Virgo, to prepare for the new season coming.

The Moon-Wise Pisces could artistically label everything; however they may be inherently aware that just because something has said label, it doesn’t mean to say it is real. Indeed, like a blissful Eastern sage, the Moon-Wise recognise how life is an illusion; and to fall for glamour now could be detrimental to any burgeoning spiritual realisation.

Illuminating ephemeral dreams we hold dear, especially that which promises a quick escape from harsh reality, a deeply sensitive Full Pisces Moon before the equinoctial time of ‘equal day and night’ on both sides of the world, also indicates inspiration coupled with resourcefulness can be far-reaching, influencing many months ahead.

☆ But still, we could all need a little help and time to digest, let-go, and physically/emotionally heal from events of a season now passing, one that is changing from either summer or winter, to autumn in the north and spring in Earth’s southern hemisphere. 

For whatever reason, either being too busy, too lazy or too confused, it’s doubtful all of us will actually get the extra dreamtime to relax, process, and compartmentalise. Instead, we may need to place our faith in the great universal unfolding, and rely upon a potent ‘Mystic Rectangle’ dominating the sky and the Full Moon horoscope, to bring clarity as well as meaning to dreams. Fortunately, this extremely helpful formation between sensible Virgo planets opposite a visionary Full Pisces Moon, plus the fated Moon’s (unseen) Nodal axis, can sprinkle some much called-for practical magic that makes meditation effective, affirmations positive, and mantra resonate with a ritual release with Full Magical Moonbeams. Leaving one more open for a swifter result, lighter at heart and able to move on as forgiveness and love replace hurt and misunderstandings, and compassion supersedes loss and suffering.

☆ This Full Pisces Moon could also reveal a discerning wisdom for certain pathfinders (Cancer-Capricorn) to illuminate a way to strengthen the heartmind and spirit, for themselves and others. The way-shower who successfully navigates intense soul-voyages doesn’t necessarily have to count on charisma and charm to get things done, but doing so now will surely mean others can have a good time and not feel left out or hard done by. Inclusion, even with the odd-one-out, is the key to connection.

☆ There is a danger of feeling overawed by such pervasive Piscean energy, especially when Luna is conjunct Neptune at home in the sign of the Two Fish which are joined together by celestial cords that link Heaven to the High Seas. Please be aware how it’s all too easy to now fall for deception and sleepwalk into toxic oblivion and the ‘unreal’. Watch out for smoke and mirror tactics to confuse. And be wary of opting for a path that leads away from truth.  Instead, go with the ‘internal’ natural flow towards the enlightened peaceful state, which lies within each and every one of us, and be able to help if/when faced with difficulties or obstacles.

By being inclined towards both practical and spiritual service we more easily generate empathy and bring joy to others. Bear in mind you can’t ‘save’ everyone over this Full Moon, lest you become a martyr. We’re also offered intellectual integrity through the Virgo Sun presently supported by the relationship planets, Venus, Mars and Mercury, all wholesome and chaste in a sensible and solid earth sign. In other words, if you’re suffering from confusion, sadness or loss, putting your energy into meaningful activity quickly brings you back to centre. The Virgo planets now underpin the solar-lunar influence so the visionary altruistic intention blends with right thought and right action; and we needn’t feel victimised by nebulous fairy tales of longing, or ‘lost’ in the Neptunian Luna’s Piscean Ocean.

☆ This elemental year of the female Earth Boar also sees September whoosh with extra strong winds of change that whips us into action; which is also in part due to the nature of the Sun, the control centre of our solar system, and its’ 11-year cycle integral to Earth’s own weather patterns. Interestingly, we are now at Sol’s Solar Minimum (i.e. few flares); still, it is during Equinox periods that Sun becomes extremely interactive, much more so than other months. Instead of flares, it appears Sols’ surface now opens wide to reveal massive ‘coronal holes’ out of which stream solar winds with pure solar energy that storm Earth’s electromagnetic field with highly-charged particles that can affect life on Earth in a variety of ways. The Auroras Borealis and Australis are part of this beautiful phenomenon. Esoteric astrology might call this solar force the ‘Light of Intelligence’; with unseen prana or chi that feeds your soul and ignites your Spirit, also indicating how the Sun is central to our own consciousness, encouraging one to be mindful in authentic presence and power.

☆ Individually, there is every chance we are also now focused upon improving personal relationships, seeing communication as the key to avoiding confusion, or indeed we may need to placate misunderstandings and crossed wires. With the Sun in Virgo our natural quest is for perfection, order and practicality. This means filling life with good thoughts and early nights, imbibing eight glasses of water a day and fields of green leafy veg to be in peak condition. The Sun is also straddled by the personal planets Mars (who heroically leads the entire scope with a certain female wisdom that doesn’t suffer fools gladly), and helpful Venus (in her fall (don’t be a doormat)) which is conjunct and exalted Mercury at the very last, ‘anaretic degree’ of Virgo; we can speak our minds before changing them. Not only are 7 planets in Mutable signs making deviations and variations inevitable, there are also 8 heavenly bodies in Earth signs encouraging us to be super practical, 4 of these are presently retrograde, so there is no need to rush anywhere where even angels fear to tread. In fact, certain issues: power and governance, structure and authority, now require total focus as Saturn stations to go forward only a few days after the Full Moon, September 18^th.

☆ It is also worth mentioning how the Sun is at 21°Virgo conjunct Fixed Star, ‘Denebola’, indicating there’s certain confidence and excitement about sailing the high Pisces seas, wanting to stay on course; but Denebola also issues a warning about fixity in deep water when needing to go with flow. Because this is a deeply sensitive Pisces Full Moon that undulates and ripples in union with the cosmically boundless and oceanic Neptune, modern ruler of Pisces, making it is a veritable Fishy affair we may want to swim with. Also, be aware that Black Moon Lilith, the dark and hidden wild woman is currently gaining ground towards Neptune: this guardian Goddess protector reminds us how we sometimes need to make sacrifices for the great good and glory of the whole.

☆ Admittedly, life can seem super challenging at this time of light-turning. But take heart: this IS a Full Moon with a Mystic Rectangle. Even though Task-Master Saturn stationed to go forward again – and Jupiter, planet of excess and adventure is making a last closing hard challenge – a 90° square, to Neptune for this rest of a 12-year cycle that began in 2009 (also on significant Moon phase) – and finishes with Jupiter and Neptune both in Pisces at 23°, April 12 2022, when the Moon is also in an extremely good aspect for those looking to heal emotions – and oceans. This Full Pisces Moon therefore stretched into the far horizon as it flows into a long-term future where the whales sing the songline as poetry in motion.

Pisces is both the modern ruler of Neptune and traditional ruler of Jupiter; they come together again in 2022, indicating how great swathes of the planet require profound and charitable loving kindness and buoyancy. Let’s hope Jupiter’s lawful, if sometimes lucky actions, plus the purifying prayers associated with both Cosmic Guru Jupiter and compassionate Neptune will bring greater awareness to the health and happiness of Earth’s inhabitants, specifically now to the oceans and forests.

☆ Note also that we do not come to the end of the even longer Neptune cycle (164-years) until 2025, when Neptune enters fiery Aries. Interestingly, as Neptune then enters Aries it also features an opening square to Jupiter. Jupiter will also then be exalted, in Cancer, in the best possible place protecting shorelines and the global family. So it seems these next six years are crucial in stay optimistic when turning the collective tide about the way we consider and treat our collective and individual dreams, emotions and spiritual world, as well as the actual water and our cetacean friends, the land and animals. It’s worth bearing in mind how we humans are also anything from 65%-90% water. And while ego considers itself important and may think nothing about creating untold suffering for others by polluting rivers, oceans, aquafers: without water to purify and create, nurture and sustain, we are no longer.     

It’s also good to remember that during this last Jupiter square to Neptune – on a Neptune ruled Full Moon - how Jupiter can make the insignificant blow up out of all proportion, while Neptune’s haziness means important issues can be glossed over or denied. Jupiter in Sagittarius also rules truth and freedom, courts and in-laws: all things we like to have on one’s side.

This could now get challenging, particularly when everywhere one looks it seems the loonies have been let out of an asylum and are now trying to kill the planet with a zombie apocalypse. (FYI: Jupiter in Sagittarius also symbolises the excess of wildfires currently seen all over the planet). Yet still, even in the midst of mayhem, all spiritual teachings tell us that in order to live a full and peaceful like, one must find the still point from where loving kindness and compassion emanate – towards oneself, as well as any pesky reptilian zombies that could be staggering down Main St. 
 
Just remember how we actually co-create reality. And if we don’t like what we see, then we can ‘be the change we wish to see in the world’.
 
And look forward to even more winds of change blowing towards the end of September and the New Moon in Air sign Libra.

☆ When faced with obstacles and difficulties that appear immovable and insurmountable, especially in the arenas of information and long and short distance travel, truth and wisdom, it sometimes feels like time stands still and all we can do is hold our breath, count to ten, then breathe deeply and mindfully, all the while witnessing a world spellbound by distraction and karma. Indeed, the Lord of Karma, Saturn, is asserting mega astral attention as this year draws to close – and is a major player in the last Full Moon horoscope of 2017.

Aside from gaining more kudos from currently being close-up and personal with quick-thinking Mercury (which is the associated ruler of this Gemini Moon (more on this throughout the commentary)), authoritarian Saturn will soon be with the life-giving Sun’s Solstice standstill on the 21^st December – only three days after the 18^th Dec New Sagittarian Moon (at almost the same degree as to where Saturn is right now: i.e. conjunct the Galactic Centre!). Heading towards the light, as the Solstice Capricorn Sun rises, so too will Saturn. As taskmaster Saturn ingresses into its home sign of the ambitious Sea Goat, the individual is initiated into the world of spiritual aspiration with the light of the New Born King. That’s some well-practiced and highly dramatic timing on behalf of the Time Lord, Saturn, ushering in a new sense of personal responsibility just as the light turns in the southern hemisphere and returns in the north (look to Capricorn in your chart to see where your reliability (as well as any fear) is reinforced.) 

A few weeks ahead of Saturn’s dramatic change of sign (which has not been seen in Capricorn since 1989) synchronising with our Solar time wheel, early December also sees the light of a Full Gemini Super Moon opposite the fiery Sagittarian Sun – with both Sun and Moon in a very tight and challenging ‘T’ square aspect to fantasy-orientated Neptune, the planet of illusion and delusion, glamour and dreams. Things could become bizarrely surreal during this Full Moon, which is also the first of two Super Moons. 

The next Super Moon following this glorious Gemini Full Moon will be Tuesday 2^nd January 2018! What an entrance into 2018 that will be! A Super Moon is one that is closest to the earth so, it looks slightly bigger than usual, with the geophysical effects, and our emotions also heightened (earthquakes and flooding, for instance, can happen approximately up to three days after the moon).
☆ Like Gemini’s quicksilver nature, I’m running ahead again with mercurial caduceus wand in hand, invoking a successful pass in any test we encounter – or set ourselves. Lets’ get back to this Full Super Moon in the sign of the Twins, and see what it means to relate to all beings as brothers and sisters, at the same time being cheerful as an individual, freely going about daily business happy wherever you are, ’d'être bien dans sa peau’, as the French say, ‘happy in your skin’, easy to talk to and easy to be with. Purely by being light-hearted, social creatures, Geminis possess an uncanny knack of charming all and sundry at the same time honing into important information. What one does with such info, be it gossip or gospel – or both, may remain to be seen as the mutable Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which goes into retrograde motion only hours before Luna culminates!  

By now regular dharma stars readers know the drill regarding a Mercury retrograde: for three whole weeks, from the 3^rd Dec until the 23^rd, triple check all important docs and files, especially those appertaining to sales, streaming and scripts; timetables and academic papers will also benefit with at least one review – and still expect delays. Because this Mercury retrograde sees the planet of communication in detriment, i.e. versatile Mercury can be too scattered in fiery Sagittarius: try not to spread yourself too thin. Stay focused. There is much to learn from Mercury’s conjunction with the more disciplined Saturn. For starters, this retrograde is about timing as Saturn is the Time Lord.

☆ Traditionalist Saturn can seem a slowcoach and stickler, patient for detail and long-winded bureaucracy, whilst Gemini’s ruler Mercury likes shortcuts and tweets to get the message across. And therein lays the dilemma: how to keep information, travel and ideas all flowing at a speed that satisfies both parties, i.e. the wise old Saturnian AND the Mercurial youth (or, in Jungian parlance, find a way to mediate between the Senex and the Puer aeternus).  This tight association between time conscious Mercury and Saturn is strong in so many ways, cropping up again and again throughout our Full Moon scope, connecting many planets during the only Super Moon of 2017. So when keeping appointments, take in the scenery on route by all means, but also keep a close eye on the clock: no one likes to be kept waiting, least of all those who have authority. 

The combination of smart and savvy Mercury with conventional Saturn can also be extremely judgemental, which is not necessarily a bad thing; sometimes we need to know what works and what doesn’t. But the heaviness associated with Saturn accents the importance of training one’s own mind not to fall into depressive states no matter how difficult the circumstance.  Make a note to concentrate upon what is important right now and maintain joyful enthusiasm; remember that information hungry Gemini thrives with freedom of choice as well as the freedom to determine that choice. Dates to watch out for Mercury’s potential mischiefs, exactly aligning with responsible Saturn, 28^th November, 4^th December and 13^th January, with the latter there may be a binding resolution of the issues relating to this sobering but also potentially expansive aspect – within Saturn’s guiding limits.

☆ Adding a challenge to this dynamic Super Moon astral mix is that both Sagittarian Sun and Gemini Moon are conjunct bright red Fixed Stars that represent intensity, power and action. The Sun at the height of the Full Super Moon is with one of the four ‘Royal Stars’, ‘Antares’, at the ‘Heart of the Scorpion’; indicating successful outcomes within extreme situations. There’s a warning that comes with this magnificent star, however, as Antares conjunct the Sun also indicates spectacular individual loss should one instigate any high drama purely for one’s own personal excitement. And with Mars and Uranus still within a rather explosive opposition, it’s time to raise a more altruistic intention, and do what is best for everyone. 

The Moon is also with another Royal Star, Aldeberan, ‘the Eye of the Bull’, otherwise known as the star of illumination, or Buddha’s Star. This Fixed Star also comes with a caveat; whenever the sensitive Moon is present with Aldeberan, the focus is to keep integrity intact and not fall into temptation – which is so much easier when you’re living your truth, secure in your own natural power and element. The alignment of these two great stars, Antares and Aldeberan, together with the ‘Lights’ suggests brilliance, riches and honours, but only by exercising the highest morals and ethics. Otherwise, Aldeberan is like Antares: one whiff of corruption, sleaze or skulduggery, and one could lose a lot. 

☆ Imho, this is not a Full Moon to take major risks, or make restrictions that prevent access to higher knowledge. To successfully navigate this Full Moon one will not only need to rely on highly refined intuition (The Lights in that tight T-square to Neptune, at home in oceanic Pisces), but also remain reliably informed have a strong grip of concepts, facts and law, and from time to time take a much-needed, reality check. Encourage a practical and broad mind, and aim towards reviewing the bigger picture that lies before you; then see how best to consolidate.  

☆ One last note I’d like to mention is that as the Sun and Moon now both make challenging aspects to both, Jupiter and Neptune, not only do we have the ‘T’square, creating a tense aspect between the lights – and some may feel a sense of loss (don’t give up now!), but we also see the Sun making a semi-sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio, and the Moon throwing a ‘quincunx’ to the currently insightful Cosmic Guru. And on the same day as the Full Super Moon these two spiritually affiliated planets also make the first of three ‘Trines’ (120°) between the water signs Pisces and Scorpio, which take place on the 3^rd December, 25^th May, 19^th August. So Jupiter and Neptune’s triangle phase will take eight months to complete the astral hat trick. Here, it’s important to note that Jupiter is Pisces’ traditional ruler, while Neptune is the modern ruler of the Fishes; both planets have a connection when bringing together soul and form. Jupiter may be the Sacred Teacher, but Neptune in Pisces has a collective influence, representing faith, prayers and mantras, and the heartfelt compassion and forgiveness that can ripple into the Biofield, the Noosphere of unseen thoughts and feelings, and thus have an influence upon all of us.  These two planets can reveal how a generation’s dreams can grow, especially with the profound inclination to regenerate and renew the resources we all share: water, air and earth. This wonderful planetary phase teaches us that purely by opening up to the sacred light within, seeing everything as a heavenly miracle, however minor, then everything else in the universe becomes divine too.

From the astrological and elemental points of view the Taurus Full Moon on Saturday 4th November, @5:23UT, is Fixed Earth: tenacious, solid and strong. Please bear these simple but practical qualities in mind, because setting the astrological tone and holding sway over of this exalted Moon, in the sign of the earthy Bull, is the intense and complex, dramatic Scorpio Sun, as ‘Fixed Water’. Thus the powerful and intuitive water sign Scorpio now benefits from the stable Taurean influence, as Earth and Water can be extremely fertile: anchored in mud’s murky depths (Scorpio) the beautiful lotus can surely grow and flourish (Taurus). Earth also provides a container for Water’s acute sensitivity.

✶The robust Taurus tends towards a laid-back simple life, one that provides sufficient cuddles, finances, and food in the kitchen. A fine French wine may be a Bull’s prized possession; whereas Scorpio can seduce and share said vintage and transport both parties to discover previously hidden depths of the psyche. Scorpio may be shadowy and mysterious, but the 8th sign of the zodiac is also profound and perceptive, with an inexhaustible, deep well of concealed resources. This passionate sign of intimacy, secrets, shared assets and penetrative insights, doesn’t give up his or her secrets – or the Cabernet Sauvignon so easily: unless you are dealing with a the higher-minded Scorpionic clairvoyant, the one with x-ray vision who works an inner-wisdom that does not suffer fools too long, one generally needs to earn Scorpio’s trust.

Scorpio tends to wield the enigmatic with provocative control and a sexy sixth-sense precision to maintain a power base that brims with magical potential. And there is great astral news for Scorpio (and Taurus –and possibly other fixed signs Leo & Aquarius) to bring that potential into reality, as this is the only Full Moon in the Fire Bird year in which the Spirit of the Sun conjoins beneficent Jupiter, only recently moved into magnetic Scorpio. The celestial courier, Mercury, is also in Scorpio, albeit in late degrees, honing an eagle eye that could help one to seek and seize opportunities for growth and success, by concentrating the mind with Taurean determination and Scorpionic intensity.

Apart from the extreme nature of Scorpio accenting life, death and rebirth (easy on that red wine now, please), it is the starry blend of Sun and Jupiter when good things are cosmically bound to happen. Some might call it ‘luck’, but the Sun-Jupiter is a most astrologically preferred combination that nearly always represents good fortune and excellent timing. And, if whatever ‘it’ is that you have in mind when reading this comes into being, then give thanks; if not, Jupiter’s influence means it will be easy to be philosophical, keep spirits up, and move on: such is the nature of the sparkling duo, Sun-Jupiter. Incidentally, while this is the Full Moon exuding the most Jupitarian optimism, the exact hit of the glorious Sun-Jupiter Jupiter has actually already passed, since 26th October, with the waxing first quarter Moon, a traditional time of action; so some of you may already have experienced a boost to your system in one form or another (check your scope for 1-6°Scorpio to see how, what and where), which could have already been shared with the close and trusted, so that celebratory bottle may already be recycled. Events may still seem slightly exaggerated. In any event the Sun radiating with expansive, happy-go-lucky Jupiter gives a definite sense of hope, and situations surrounding this Full Moon could actually shed more than a little happiness – at the very least this Full Moon should show there is light at the end of the tunnel.

✶Most people want to better themselves and going up a notch, in status or self-esteem, is common whenever the radiant Sun is with generous Jupiter – as is taking risks due to the belief that one’s view is true. Indeed, the Full Moon in the sign of Taurus accents how much we value our self-worth. But we must also be careful not to become prisoners of our own desires. At the time of this Full Moon, the Scorpio Sun also aligns with two fixed stars: one is Alphecca in ‘Corona Borealis’ which suggests a crown is given – a reward or prize for being in the right place at the right time. But such nobility and dignity come not without a price. There is no such thing as a free lunch, it would seem – even when the Full Moon is in the sign of foodie-loving Taurus. As the Sun is also with a minor fixed star, Acrux, it implies that along with any rise, award, or bonus given right now, one must be realistic about what one can achieve purely through luck or love, charm or good looks, and be prepared to work at going through whatever life presents, good or bad. That said, while Acrux may present a cross to carry, the ancients saw the brighter star, Alphecca, as a precious jewel in a garland worn with honour and artistic ability, so much so that scandals that arise now may not even affect the subject’s status or standing.

This Full Taurus Moon is also exalted, meaning it is in the best possible sign to experience the stability and security found with the easily attainable: good food, happy company and pleasant surroundings can provide ample comfort and joy over this Full Moon weekend, as well as a time and place for planning one’s next success. Because this Full Moon also has the backing of arch-tactician, asteroid Pallas Athena – at the degree of the Moon’s exaltation, plotting future moves around the dining table may well be the making of something a lot more solid.

Both ‘Lights’, Sun and Moon, also make helpful aspects to outer planets, Neptune and Pluto, accenting transformative connections to our soul groups, as well as the legacy each generation leaves behind for those to come. Neptune in Pisces takes us into the oceanic realms of illusion and delusion, emptiness and bliss, compassion and charitable institutions (so that if anyone has one glass too many under full moonbeams, it will be easy to forgive if not forget). Pluto is Scorpio’s hard-hitting modern ruler who never overlooks anything, however; and Mars is Scorpio’s traditional ruler; so it’s good to note how Mars is now in his fall in Libra, and as such is on rear guard, softening negotiation but still driving the Full Moon horoscope’s locomotive formation with sweetly pushy and beguiling. It might also be worth noting here that in three decades of astrological study I have come to the conclusion that Pluto dominates those Scorpios who live and work for others (through altruism, diviners, and trauma professions: surgeons, psychology, undertakers, solicitors, detectives, police, chemists, researchers; miners, business people, architects, chimney sweeps and sewer workers also fall into Scorpio professions), while Mars generally has ambitions to be heroic with (someone else’s) cause to fight (soldiers, stock market, lawyers).

✶ Plutonic Scorpios are also acutely aware of the dark side; they inherently know that personal power corrupts but the non-ego-bound energy sustains. Battles waged can also be against Scorpio’s own demons. But one thing is certain during this Full Moon: it is the powerful planet Pluto which makes the most promising contacts to Sun and Moon, meaning we all get to play a part in a dramatic transformation that leads, eventually, to an all-or-nothing regeneration: in this we can think of own our part in holding course to maintain healthy water, for example (drink fresh, blessed and pure), and know that what we do now impacts upon at least seven generations to come.

✶ Psychic sensitivity is also heightened by any planet in Scorpio. And with Jupiter’s move into (tropical) Scorpio we can all expand more easily in this area over the coming year (until November 2018) should we want to touch base with intuition, or subtle body bio-energy, this is the year to do so. Scorpionic issues such as transforming our position on death, sex, taxes, will also be brought into our attention; sometimes by first being dragged through the mud before reaching the light.

✶ Those looking for answers, clues or messages from the unseen, as in the dream-world or intuition, won’t be disappointed. Though the message itself might seem rather cut and dried, mundane and plain, without any ‘spiritual’ frills, but still one should take note, as these are very insights that hone the way the mind perceives the world of the unseen and the subtle body energies. Some messages will have all-singing all-dancing bells ringing to awaken sky dancers into action. But mostly, over this Moon, intuition could seem rather prosaic.

✶Looking ahead, beyond the encouraging New Scorpio Moon 18th November, to the December 3rd Full Sagittarian SuperMoon, when Jupiter makes a Trine (120°) to Neptune. The Full Moon after this is almost celestially designed, if not on the path already, to open your heartmind to daily spiritual practice, whatever that may be: meditation, yoga, dance, music, prayer, mindfulness, all can deepen naturally. With Jupiter in good aspect to oceanic Neptune there will be no need to push, but to restez-zen in one’s flow. So that by January 2018, when the Fixed water Scorpio Jupiter harmonises with the Earthy Capricorn Pluto, through a sextile (60°), a personal transformation will almost certainly be felt. Pluto in Capricorn is only still half way through its passage of the majestic and formal Capricorn, so is still to fully renovate traditional but outworn authoritarian structures (with Pluto Cap connections) by 2025.

For now the challenge for the Scorpionic Jupiter’s Fixed Water is not to languish in darkness, grappling with good or evil, but to transform such polarity from deep within. Fixed water Scorpio has the ability to overcome the poison of ignorance and desire by slaying the internal nine-headed hydra through complete self-trust, psychological insight and an unbreakable will. Sifting through all the dross that comes to surface in difficult times is Scorpio’s task. Scorpio gets down, deep and dirty into the heart of any vortex, even into the cellular level of our body, with subtle body awareness that has the power to transmute and be reborn.

On an elemental note, Water is a living structure that gets depressed when polluted. It’s the same with us; the more polluted our water the more likely we are to be low energy. Each minute cell of water is like a pane of information that ‘holds’ vibration and resonance within the ‘shape’ of its structure. Recognising that most living beings are also made of 70% water, we now know it is not the constitution of water, H2O, which is important, but the structure water creates as it weaves and waves and changes in flow, spin and vibration. Each drop of water within and without can be also purified in many ways by going through a change in structure, from gas to liquid, for instance, or solid to liquid, as well as by the power of intent, thought, mantra and word. One drop of water is actually a treasure to cherish, a potentially beautifully-charged hexagonal star shaped celebration of life, in love, with thanks (as per late water Guru Masaru Emoto).

✶ And while this is the Full Moon I would usually advise to look out for obsession, jealousy, hidden desires, certain fascinations have now naturally reached a point of sudden change, especially those desires appertaining to relationship and finances, beauty and bravery. Go easy now. Particular associated might find such change disruptive. Be aware the Venus opposition Uranus, freedom-closeness dilemma is rearing its head, for relationships with loved ones as well as peer groups could make everyone now question the freedom to be one self. Thus, events around this Full Moon could reverberate until Easter 2018, when Venus and Uranus come together again.

✶ Closing this longer than usual Full Moon report from the Halloween Full Moon illuminating our collective and personal resources, as each of Earth’s hemispheres now begin to circle towards the Wheel-Turning Solstice Yule, when we will be welcoming of ‘Time Lord’ Saturn into his very own Capricorn domain(to join Pluto 2020): a very interesting evolutionary time indeed!
