☼✶☽ Super Blue Blood Lunar Eclipse in Leo 11°37’ ~ @13:27 UT January 31st! ☾✶☼

“Every human must decide whether he or she will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.” ~ quote inspired by Martin Luther King, Jr.

When there are two Full Moons in the same calendar month, the second is called a ‘Blue Moon’. This Full ‘Blue Moon’ in dramatic Leo, on January 31st, is also a ‘Super Moon’, which happens when the Moon is closest to the Earth as Luna culminates (making this the second and last Super Moon of 2018). As a Super Moon* it also means tides will be strong again, with flooding, earthquakes and tsunami alerts all possible. Perhaps even more so in some areas**, as this second January Full Moon is also a spectacular Lunar Eclipse. And because it is also a total Lunar Eclipse – when the eclipsed Moon turns a light-refracting deep copper-red –  it is therefore known as a ‘Blood Moon’. Excited yet? It’s a humdinger!

Also, a ‘Blue Blood Eclipse’ suggests a certain kind of majestic Royalty. And this lunar eclipse is compounded by the fact this is a Full Moon in regal Leo! Even so, I am not going to give a critique of world leaders or Monarchs; though heaven knows many could do with a serious astro-restyle. No, this astro report is tailored towards the personal aspect of Leo, to encourage every one of you to be aware of yourself in the world, celebrating unique talents and gifts, and to joyfully partake with dignity and creative style, and the loving, caring, big-hearted kind of stage presence that emanates from Leo the Lion, and that we would also like to witness from those in positions of power. Let’s not forget how Leo is a stately and self-confident sign that leads by example, not by threat, force or fear. Even in danger, one roar from the Lion is usually enough to pacify enemies.

Leo is a fun-loving and playful sign, so this Full Moon is celestially marked to be theatrical AND mythic, with the three phenomena – a Blue Blood Super Moon Eclipse, all taking place at the same time. Apparently, the likes of which haven’t been seen for 150 years! To make matters even more poignant, it is also the last Full Moon of the elemental Fire Bird Year, as a Valentine New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 15th Feb signals another serious turning point; and is the start of the potentially more stabilising Earth Dog year. More on that in a moment.

First, let’s concentrate upon this powerful Super Moon Blue Blood Leo Lunar Eclipse, and the aspects it makes:

☆ A loose but fixed ‘T-Square’, featuring the altruistic Aquarian Sun opposite a spirited Leo Moon. Both Lights form a hard 90 ° aspect to expansive Jupiter, which is currently in transformative Scorpio (where is stays until early November).  T-Squares are aspects that are always loaded with tension; but this combination suggests a creative tension that has the potential to lead to sudden breakthroughs.

In the days surrounding this Full Moon, I heartily recommend you hold a creative vision firmly in mind, one that will be nurtured with love and originality. Define what it is that you want to manifest. Imagine how that might be achieved; i.e. what kind of help will you need; who is going to be on your team; which course of action brings out the best in people: and what can you do if confronted with delay? Give yourself and others some head space to see the bigger-picture and assess how to flow with change and inspiration as it arrives.

Tuning into powerful truths could easily lead to spectacular productivity and possibly even some kind of spiritual rebirth (which may be more apparent when the Sun exactly squares Jupiter, at the last quarter Moon Feb 6/7th).
☆ With the Moon making a quincunx 150° to visionary Neptune at 12 Pisces, adjustments to the creative vision will need to be made. Watch out though: a Leo Moon can bring out the cry baby if things don’t go all one’s own way. Other people’s needs must also be considered when tweaking the dream.

Take note: with this cool and friendly Aquarian Sun opposite such a strong Leo Lunar influence, coming from a place of mindfulness, integrity and loving kindness, stimulates an inner-knowing – as well as loyalty from those who matter.

There is also an unexpected healing to be found by associating with kindred spirits. And the support of others fosters a self-assurance that also helps to relieve oneself of burdens and blocks that could have held you back from igniting the spark of creative genius.

☆ At the precise moment of Luna’s culmination, the Moon exactly conjuncts dwarf planet, Ceres, also at 11° Leo. Ceres is the ‘Goddess of the Harvest’. She accents the ability to nurture and care, from inception to maturity, by gently guiding growth into wholesome beauty; more specifically Ceres denotes the connection between a Mother and child; particularly the relationship of mother and the young daughter coming into her own unique beauty and sexual awakening. Ceres is the protective Earth Mother who tends to the younger’s personal needs, feeding with good intentions, fending off predators as best she can. And all goes well unless she gets taken advantage of, or something precious is snatched away or stolen, then it can get very messy indeed – until said object is returned, then there a certain rebirth takes place. This influence of Ceres conjunct the eclipsed Blue Blood Super Moon opposite the sparkling Aquarian Sun can be taken literally or symbolically, in as much as our own internal ‘care-taker’ can fine tune the ability to look after and tend new shoots of personal creativity. Whenever Ceres is present with ‘The Lights‘, (Sun and Moon) issues of fallowness, abandonment or loss could also surface, as Ceres is also the Goddess of grieving. If that is the case, be patient and go easy on yourself. Whatever is being tended, Ceres shows us that there is a time and season for everything, from new shoots to blossoming and sustaining, passing and rejuvenation.

☆ Eclipses are POWERFUL! An eclipse season is not to be taken lightly! All kinds of unseen energy can arise to create excitement and commotion, as well as dramatic turning points. As such, I advise you to psychically, emotionally (and even physically) protect oneself, so that when the cosmic portals open wide between the Dragon’s Head (North Node with the Moon) and the Dragons’ Tail (South Node with the Sun, Venus, Hygeia & Juno) one can remain safely centred in the heart mind, even in the midst of drama.

☆ Be aware of this potent celestial force for the next few weeks during eclipse season. The Solar Eclipse is 15th Feb, and the build-up to the union of Sun and Moon is also exacerbated by a critical period in the Tibetan Calendar (which I use in conjunction with the Julian Calendar), called Dön Season”, which has been described as being ‘like Mercury retrograde on steroids’, as the karma of the last Elemental year (fire) accumulates to possibly manifest as sticky issues that can create obstacles, problems and disharmony.

As we wave goodbye to the spiritually attuned Fire element (for another ten years) and before welcoming two years of practical Earth’s steadiness and strength, Dön is the name given to summarise an end-of-years’ amassed energy patterns, particularly the negative ones which whip-up destructive thinking to provoke difficult interactions and arguments that, if we don’t clarify with mindfulness, can even lead to emotional obsessions, or psychic or physical sickness. Thus, during these coming weeks, between the Lunar Super Moon, and particularly the week in the run-up to the Aquarian Solar eclipse (from Feb 7th -15th), it is mega important that we clear the air and make space at home, at work, in relationship, and within our minds in order to awaken and release our creative Spirit. While we make make hay during the wild Lunar eclipse, a few days after it will be of great advantage to detox inner planes as well as outer worlds, to let-go of the old and outmoded and, by being open-minded and aware, prepare for New Year of the Earth Dog 15th February.

Happy Blue Blood Super Moon Eclipse! Until we meet again in the New Elemental Year of the Earth Dog: Peace out!

11° Cancer Full SuperMoon ~ Jan 1st-2nd 2018 @2:32UT

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; you put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; you put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash.

…Be Like Water, my friend. Be like water” ~ Bruce Lee
The sensitive water element features strongly in this first Full Moon of 2018, which is also a numerological magical 11:11 portal. Crossing over this New Year’s threshold into Twenty-Eighteen could be quite a profound and demanding, emotional yet entertaining, shape-shifting affair. This Full Moon is also the largest of two Super Moons in a row, and a double whammy Moon-ruled, watery Cancer Moon, when intuition, impressions and perceptions could also be magnified, just as Earth’s tides – when all kinds of events and circumstance favour an ability to seamlessly go with the flow, weathering higher tides and surfing sometimes choppy waters with the consummate skill of a hunky Australian surfboarder.

There could be many a different wave and phase to navigate during this fluctuating Cancerian Super Moon, which reflects the light of the earthy Capricorn Sun; as Luna waxes on New Year’s Eve, peaks New Year’s Day, and sustains until the Moon changes signs into Leo late Tuesday 2nd. At the same time the ‘Agent of Change’, Uranus, also turns to go direct after a five-month retrograde, implicating new connections to made with Mother Earth (with nice wine and aperitifs, we hope), as well as to those heroic individuals that adjust and grow within peer-group friendships – individuals who are able to pass through the ring of fire and emerge unscathed, integrity intact and ready for renewal. Now those associations require an intellectual basis and a solid plan to go forward, rather than just proximity, faith, or physical attraction to be considered friendly.

Times are again changing; and the way we network individual and team talents and skills within the web-of-life will also alter with the Uranian Agent of Change, in May. With a shift of Uranus from self-orientated Aries into nature-loving Taurus, aside from appreciating glorious gardens and the preservation of wild-life, we also need to deal with reality. A question to ask is ‘will the almost inevitable further reliance technology enable ordinary people to become stable and lucrative, to be able to feed, house and clothe themselves and their families, and not just be more financial fodder for the privileged’? We will know more around the beginning of May.

Currently, the Sun is one of four celestial markers accenting stability in the accomplished sign of the Sea-Goat: Pluto the powerful; and seductive Venus is still with Time Lord, Saturn, accenting a natural preference for experience, with an appearance of poise and control, even if a wild New Year banshee is tantalising, mysterious, or just plain overwhelming. Bear this in mind throughout 2018: sturdy Capricorn planets can also provide a secure anchor that enable one to ride the surges of emotional energies, especially those surrounding a SuperMoon that often challenges our intuition to morph into psychic awareness.

All the planets in reliable Capricorn also suggest overcoming a fear of a woman in her power, making a commitment to build relationships that work, together. Having a trusted confident, girlfriend, loved one, boss, professional or co-worker who has a practical, hands-on sensibility is a major plus – particularly helps problem solve recent issues from late November or mid-December.
Please also note 2018’s first Full Moon is no ordinary Super Moon, because Earth is also approaching ‘Perihelion’, which means the Earth is closest to the Sun, while the Moon is closest to the Earth, making Earth, Sun and Moon the closest they are going to be for the entire year. Up close and together! What an interesting portent for 2018! A variety of geophysical activity is also cosmically bound to be activated and heightened; floods and earthquakes come to mind, especially as the Moon integrates the horoscope with a ‘Grand Water Trine’ that accents completion and renewal through healing and purification.

A Grand Water Trine involves all three water signs 120° apart. Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces, bound together in a tight triangle formation reveals spiritual and karmic mysteries, as well as how people are easily influenced and can be made into victims – as well as saviours, manipulated by circumstance or easily swayed. Whilst oceanic Neptune’s Piscean realms take one into uncharted realms, into the world of the metaphysical, through divinity, dancing and dreaming; the Cancer Moon can be particularly receptive to all kinds of unseen forces. Mars and Jupiter, however, have now strengthened Scorpio’s talent for using a secret x-ray vision to see beyond obvious appearances that can stop one from being totally carried away or duped by the dubious.

I could talk for hours about the Water element, as it’s one of my major interests, which I will save for another time because there's work to be done and NYE is upon us! And a New Year brings many resolutions. Suffice to say water fills the mould it finds itself in. And it has a memory. Water understands a lot more about our feelings than we generally give it credit for - and it retains that information. It’s no surprise the Great Whales are the shamanic record keeps of our planet; they have seen it all and remember everything. Water can be perfectly still or start with a silent ripple to violently surge up from the lapis lazuli depths to cleanse and clear. Much depends upon the planets traversing through Water signs.

This Grand Water Trine also forms the major triangle of the even rarer ‘Kite’ formation, with a smaller ‘mini-triangle’ created by the Capricorn Sun and Venus being the mid-point making harmonious 60° aspects that create a positive influence to the Trine aspect between Mars/Jupiter and Neptune. The Sun and Venus in opposition with the Cancerian Super Moon thus produce the ‘holding’ axis.  Here the Sun conjunct Venus highlights wisdom’s inner beauty and the ability to stay centred. When all around may swirl remember to generate a stillness within (breathe deeply and slowly into the belly to get grounded), and allow life to settle and quickly regain clarity. Venus and Saturn urge us to create a world based on love, a love of others, one’s true self, one’s work and one’s own ambition, without the fear of failure – or success – that makes one feel isolated, threatened by perceptions that make one hide behind shields or build walls. This is a year when we can learn to untie knots in our hearts and release the free flow of love to generate positive karma.

Also in this Cancer Full Super Moon chart is another sparkly Triangle: the ‘Grand Fire Trine’. This fiery Phoenix graced our skies for much of 2017, and is now passing. Any excitement which stirred-up heated passion and creativity can still be tapped into this year, not with ardent fervour but with loving care and attention. For 2018 is a year of commitment, consolidation and conservation, construction and productivity, with planets Saturn and Uranus moving into Earth signs, Capricorn and Taurus respectively. By 15th February, with the Valentine Solar Eclipse New Moon (Asian New Year), we enter into the year of the ‘Earth Dog’ emphasising loyalty, kindness and justice.
Meanwhile wishing all readers a very happy SuperMoon! And a wonderful start to 2018 ~> May all be auspicious!

☽ Medicine Moon August 2015

☼ ☾Today's 1st Quarter Moon in Scorpio is conjunct karmic Saturn, at the all-important ‘anaretic degree’, the last degree of both the Sun at 29 Leo and the Moon at 29 Scorpio; this is also the very last time Luna will join Saturn in Scorpio for another 30ish years (by next month Saturn will be in Sagittarius for two and a half years), making this a rather loaded and weighty Medicine Buddha day. Heavy in the sense that patience is called for, as karma drama can be seen as accumulative cause and effect and certain past actions can all-too-easily catch up. But karma also means action. And when the sensitive moon is conjunct karmic Saturn, that action is loaded with personal responsibility for overcoming negative and destructive actions. Engaging in such a practice surely has golden rewards. Obstacles can now be cleared by delving into and healing the deeper parts of psyche which are currently in for the long-haul transformational process. It helps to now to let go of any part of life, such as ingrained desires and old memories that keep us stuck in behavioural or thought patterns that no longer serves the higher purpose, i.e. stay in the present and do now what is best for everyone, including oneself.

☾ A triple set of ‪#‎SuperMoons‬ is on the rise. The Moon tends to influence in three’s, i.e. maiden, mother, crone...
☽☼☾ 29th August = is 1st of the 3 Full SuperMoons. And in Pisces, the spirit of water purifies and renews organically, emotionally, and within the environment.
☽☼☾ 28th September is also an Apollo-Light-St Michael-Lillith-Bloodmoon-SuperMoon ‪#‎LUNAReclipse‬ on a MOONday (sunday night/monday-am)! In Libra, the Moon is also conjunct ‘‪#‎Laniakea‬’, which means ‘Immeasurable Heaven’, the Galactic Supercluster into which our entire galaxy is being drawn, into a heart of love, beauty and balance.
☽☼☾ 27th October sees a Taurean Luna at her degree of exaltation, which I find rather comforting, and with a little adjustment here and there issues that overwhelm during the August Full Supermoon, find some stabilisation .

Guru Purninima ~> Full SuperMoon July 11-12-13th 2014

Full Super Moon 11th-12-13th July __/\__
☼✶•*¨*•.¸¸✶

Because the Cancerian Sun is with an exalted Jupiter, planet of hope and cheer, there is every heavenly cause to be optimistic with a wonderful Capricorn Full Supermoon, to be exact at 12:25BST Saturday, 12th July. Expansive Jupiter magnifies, as well as also being the Sacred Guru who offers protective wisdom, so that one can remain confident - even in the midst of important beginnings, and possibly even more poignant endings.

Note: This is no ordinary SuperMoon (astronomical name ‘perigee syzygy’ when the Moon is closest to the Earth), as complex celestial geometry raises the cosmic love vibration to enhance spiritual development and reveal the Divine within. By creating an obvious dynamic opening for powerful transformation, dramatic change, and insightful revelation, both ‘The Lights’, Sun and Moon, pick up the ‘Cardinal Cross of the Central Spiritual Sun’, as well as making a Grand Trine and rare ‘Kite’ formation. And although there may be storms, high tides and flares, we always seem to have some kind of suffering to confront – everything is relative – Events surrounding this Full SuperMoon ask us to generate loving kindness with a harmonious heart, and to negotiate all levels of diplomatic healing between neighbours, friends or foes, seen or unseen, so that all beings can know peace.

Image is of the Kalachakra Sand Mandala, the mandala for World Peace. During this Full SuperMoon, with the union of wisdom and compassion, His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama is conferring an Initiation into this multidimensional mandala in Ladhak India. May it be of benefit to all
