This Full Virgo Moon radiates the perfection of clarity & wisdom ~> opposite the compassionate Pisces Sun highlighting the Bodhisattva ideal = practical and spiritual world service. _/♥\_

"The most compassionate insight of my (Tibetan) tradition and its noblest contribution to the spiritual wisdom of humanity has been its understanding and repeated enactment of the ideal of the bodhisattva, the being who takes on the suffering of all sentient beings, who undertakes the journey to liberation not for his or her own good alone but to help all others, and who eventually, after attaining liberation, does not dissolve into the absolute or flee the agony of samsara, but chooses to return again and again to devote his or her wisdom and compassion to the service of the whole world.

What the world needs more than anything is bodhisattvas, active servants of peace, “clothed,” as Longchenpa said, “in the armor of perseverance,” dedicated to their bodhisattva vision and to the spreading of wisdom into all reaches of our experience. We need bodhisattva lawyers, bodhisattva artists and politicians, bodhisattva doctors and economists, bodhisattva teachers and scientists, bodhisattva technicians and engineers, bodhisattvas everywhere, working consciously as channels of compassion and wisdom at every level and in every situation of society; working to transform their minds and actions and those of others, working tirelessly in the certain knowledge of the support of the buddhas and enlightened beings for the preservation of our world and for a more merciful future."

New Leo Moon ♥ • • •( ( (☾ ◯☽) ) )• • • ♥ August 2013

Majestic Leo is ruled by the life-giving Sun, which is central to the cross-quarter marker for the height of this season. Now, as the golden Sun radiates warmth through the light of the soul, we observe the ‘Fixed’ Solar Fire festival accenting the glowing Heart of the Leo Sun, a time of joyful relaxation and abundance, when summer's first grains ripen in the northern hemisphere, and days lengthen in the south. At the same time, a New Moon at 14 degrees of fiery Leo, on Tuesday, 6th August at 22:50bst kindles Leo’s sacred flame of unconditional love-light.

Compounding the light blessings, the commanding Leo Sun and Moon are currently with asteroid Vesta, Fire Goddess of hearth and home, who purifies and tends the sacred flame with unfailing devotion. All three are currently in a challenging aspect to the karmic Dragon’s head and tail. This mythical meeting of Dragon and Lion suggests we’re at a potentially enlightening turning point, one that could avoid burn-out and bring about practical earthy healing to a specific heart-felt cause; by shining the Leo Love-Light into the deepest recesses of our (collective) psyche we can now clearly see what needs to be powerfully transformed in order to safeguard the heart-mind, and shared resources.

\_ From the Buddhist perspective, both Lion and Dragon are symbolically important iconography. Like Leo, the dragon is a creature of great creative power, with positive yang dynamism, whilst the regal Lion is dignified and loving, playful and cheerful. Bodhisattvas, beings who attain a high level of spiritual development, are often called ‘Buddha’s Lions’; and Buddha’s teachings ‘the Lions’ Roar’. As such, Lions are also royal dharma protectors, found at the entrance to many temples, often holding up thrones for Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, indicating formidable strength and competence.

☼☽ So while this New Leo Moon provides the will to exercise wisdom that protects a faithful heart and advances the creative spirit with generosity and love, remember there is also room for a sprinkling of inscrutable Dragon magic to enhance these rare moments of the influential six-pointed star of the Grand Sextile, flowing in and out of perfection throughout this month of August. ☼☽¸¸.•*¨*•☆

"Let your love flow outward through the universe,
To its height, its depth, its broad extent,
A limitless love, without hatred or enmity.
Then as you stand or walk,
Sit or lie down,
As long as you are awake,
Strive for this with a one-pointed mind;
Your life will bring heaven to earth".

Full Libra Moon ~ March 27th '13

☽☆☾★☼ ❤۞❤☼★☽☆☾

Wednesday the 27th's Full Moon in Libra at 9:27gmt (5:27EST) accents the power of individual LOVE, TRUTH and FREEDOM, uniting to be at ONE, with self, loved ones, friends, a team or even society. This is quite a powerful influence, as the harmonious and relationship orientated Libra Moon opposes Spirit Sun exalted in Aries, next to loving Venus, and the current Mars-Uranus conjunction rousing impulsive if not heroic quick change – be that change within ourselves, loved ones or peer group.

With so many planets in the sign of assertive and courageous Aries, understanding the position of ‘hero’ is imperative. In Buddhism the hero is not one who conquers by slaying the innocent and perceived foes. Our heroes are Spiritual Warriors who gently overcome destructive desires and aversions to liberate his or her own ego

So while this brilliant mid-week Libra Moon provides illuminating insight onto self, particularly in relationship, the planets also indicate self-love is an important factor when being with friends, or in fast-moving situations, when raising altruism also melts away fiery anger and ego. To valiantly put the benefit of others before self is the Bodhisattva ideal; doing so actually makes us more compassionate, likeable and sociable. Accepting this may not always be easy with the materialistically driven ego stimulated at every turn, practice makes perfect. And even if we don’t always succeed in caring for others in the manner to which we aspire, it’s important not to berate one’s self, but to now make necessary adjustments to character - and strategy, and recognise personal good points that can be developed and relied upon in the future. ❤ This is the way of the heart

Astro-tech: Also worth bearing in mind is how, in Esoteric Astrology, the hierarchical ruler of Aries is Uranus, the eccentric visionary planet which emphases the unique talent that each person brings to the collective. Thus the Aries individuality and its call for brave action perfom best when the focus is upon working with others, making the world a better place. Alone we may not make a difference, but together we can - and put on a great show
