V is for Valentine, the healing saint who married couples forbidden to wed, and over the years has become a symbol for romantic LOVE. V is also for Venus, Goddess of LOVE hearts and flowers, who presides over relationships.  
Cosmic synchronicity abounds as Friday 14^th February is Valentines’ day, the very same day of the week that Venus governs, Friday.  Not only that, joy of joys, it’s also a Leo Full Moon, the playful sign of LOVE which rules the warm heart.

Spirit Sun and Soulful Moon are also in T-square to karmic Saturn, accenting associations that require networking, patience and strength to overcome issues which block the path to love & freedom. While visionary Aquarius is the light that shines across the world ‘shining light within the darkness, cleansing with healing rays until the darkness is dispelled’, the Leo Moon fires passion and confidence in doing what’s best for all concerned, friends as well as loved ones.

Loaded with creative tension and opposition, the Grand Sextile - even one as blissfully mystic with a Water Trine interlocked with the stabilizing Earth Trine - can sometimes feel powerful and impenetrable, as though we are dealing with a Cosmic Sheriff, wearing an authoritative shiny star. While some ‘hold the star’s light’, others may even sense this planetary pattern patrolling or blocking the flow (of emotion, love, money, dreams) as though there is no way out, particularly when dealing with the simultaneous trickier aspects also happening (dynamic Mars opposition controlling Pluto, for instance, or Spirit Sun square karmic Saturn). Yet take heart, there is a slight gap in this weekend’s dramatic six-pointed Seal of Solomon (aka Star of David, or Metatron), where one can slip through to calmly observe what is happening (within), and without fear.

This heavenly portal to objectivity currently operates between the destiny-fulfilling North Node and Saturn, which means that by taking personal charge for one’s own action (karma), we enable access to our own inner, moral authority. Even so, that may seem like a challenge, as current forces can seem so muddy, lacking clarity or fairness – particularly with issues that relate to ‘the end of matters’, investments and shared enterprises – personal and/or professional. But the Saturn-North-Node connection (which gets stronger over the coming months) urges one to now practice discipline and mindfulness and develop intuitive insight.

While internal and external change takes place in our lives, it is how we react that makes all the difference to a situation being something which expands the spiritual heart-mind. In the words of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, “real change happens in the heart”. For when we accept the responsibility to change the way we look at things, the things we look at also change. Thus we self-empower to do what is ethically right by all beings, with a tender concern.

1st – 7th Feb ~>

Imbolc, also known as Candlemas, is a Solar festival celebrating the first light returning (in the northern hemisphere). As such, it is a sacred festival of honouring the Light of consciousness; with the Sun in Aquarius it unifies Light workers in world service.

Thus the Western tradition now venerates the return of youthful hope and fertility, revering the Goddess Brigitte, patroness of poets, crafts, smiths, healing and midwives _/✿\_

This ‘cross-quarter’ Aquarian Fire festival marks the middle of a season; and has the quality of ‘Fixed Air’ with its determined call to purify body, speech and mind. It’s now time to spring clean, (and get ready for next week’s Tibetan New Year of the Black Water Snake!) before gathering with friends and shooting the airy Aquarian breeze.

Yet with Spirit Sun now in hard square to the taskmaster Saturn, the importance of keeping a healthy balance of work and socialising is paramount. Whilst being with kindred spirits is a way to keep body and soul together, it may well be the serious business of a labour of love that keeps one busy over the next few days. _/♥\_
